The last time I held my dad was right before he passed from cancer. I had to pick up a nearly 300 lb man and put him on the couch. The last thing he said to me was "you're my hero." This video and song was a gutshot and it couldn't be more perfect.

it is beautiful and makes me cherish my family more. i lost my dad when i was a baby but my step dad stepped in a few years after and took care of us. He's getting old now decades later and had a heart attack recently and thankfully i was there because he wouldnt have got up to go to the hospital if I wasnt there. He tells me I saved his life but I don't really believe it. But I guess I really did.. he was going to sleep it off like my dad tried to do with his heart attack.

You never think about people experiencing the same thing that you do. I fought so hard to keep my mom alive, from the age of 6 until I was 18 and she kicked me out, even though she would do things like throw her pill bottles away or blockade herself in her room so I couldn't get to her when she fell. I tried so damn hard to save her, but she didn't want help. I cried for a long time after watching this video, having lived it myself. I always felt so alone in this experience, that no one else knew the pain of what it's like to take care of a parent at an age when you should be the one taken care of. This video let me let go of a lot of that pain, and reminded me that I'm not alone. Thank you, Tilian.
I love the simplicity of this video. No need to look for any hidden meaning and symbolism, just a song that tells a story with a video that is a straight representation of that story. And it works so well for this topic. Started hitting me in the feels right off the bat and didn't stop.

I go through a lot of depression and have some suicidal thoughts, but I have a little boy that I love more than I could ever love me. Right now the world is crashing down around me, but I've always found comfort in this song. At times, I've sang, "hold onto me now. I'm not invincible" when I've tried to get him to sleep. I'm not invicible, but for him, I understand that I have to be. "I'll carry you somehow. The weight of you makes me strong."

i have such a soft spot for my parents even this video made me cry thinking about them being gone. they aren't getting any younger and someday they will be gone, and you can only hope that when you think of them then, that you told them you love them enough.

I personally living with my half-disabled (broken spine) mommy that pretty often can be found drunk. It's very distracting considering she's trying to pick a fight. But even so I would feel sad if she died. You would question me, "why won't you do smth with her addiction?" Well, a son is not the one who can re-educate 45 old woman, who's been this way for several years before she broke her spine. I really really really feel like grown-up human-being should decide for himself whether or not he's going to do what he does, and as years go, it's getting harder to remind person about anything.

I do too, it's hard to imagine life without my parents in it. Never take them for granted, everytime you see them hug them and tell them how much you love them. If you don't see them everyday, give them a call or text and ask how they're doing!

I watched Tilian play a set in a nightclub a few years back, he was playing guitar and had a drummer. A friend and I were the only people watching him, we would have been 6 feet away from him while everyone else in the club stood at the bar, sat in corners, generally ignored him. It was just as crazy to me then as it is now, I couldn't fathom why people weren't paying attention.
This hits emotionally on multiple levels.
My dad has been diagnosed with a debilitating progressive disease. He will probably die in less than 5 years. I am the son.
I have a 3 year old son who is full of so much love and thinks I'm invincible. I am the dad.
Damn dude, that made me cry. Two of my grandparents suffered from alzheimers and it was hard seeing them dissolve in front of my eyes. If I showed this to my parents they would definitely shed a tear or two.
I hope you showed them.
This song is held close to my heart, reminds me of my grandmother who raised me. She passed away in 2014 she was a God damn solider, even thought he had heart problems since I was born she took me under her wings, Wil FOREVER be grateful. she's been my rock and my best friend. I miss and love her so much to this day. Keep your love one's close, and don't forget to show them how much they mean to you.
I'm not a particularly sappy individual and I especially not a outwordly emotional guy. This song, however, pushed me to cry today which I have not done for well over a decade now. It's hard to watch this video and not feel something though. I am so thankful for my father. He didn't have his growing up. He's my hero and I can be even a fraction of the man he is within my lifetime, I will be happy. I know it's super cliché to say that, but he has moved mountains for me and my brothers. He's not a perfect man either but that doesn't matter. He's more than enough to me and so much more than that too. I have him in my life still so I am going to make the most of it. I hope I can make him proud enough in the time I do have left with him. It's the least I can do.

Damn, I can relate so much... growing up I only had my father that took care of me as a single parent. Then a few years ago he fell into depression and started to break down little by little until he passed away a few months ago and I couldn't save him.

Serious note, this really hit me hard. Recently my dad has been through a lot. Beat thyroid cancer, laid off from one job, two different jobs, lossing a friend to suicide, retinal detachment surgery, all while still helping my other siblings with their college stuff. The man that truly believes in me, since day one, and the mere thought of anything like that happening to him...this song just hit too hard. It should be illegal to write stuff like this. My dad passed away two years already. He took care of me until his last day that he was able too. The last conversation he spoke to me was take care, he went back home after he sending me to the school. Few hours after he got the stoke. He lived fighting for 15years. He was vegetative back then. When I took care off him, I always thought he used to take care of me too. I still remember when he took me to shower when I was a kid. He drove me to the hospital when I got sick. I still cry every time when I think of him.I know I’m really sensitive when it comes to him. I really miss him.

He has health issues and back problems blood problems and aching broken body with arthritis. he still pushes forward everyday he takes care of his family he accepted me as his own even after his divorce years later to this day the least I can do is be there and hold on until the journey is through..
