Mikoto’s scream lowkey scared me
As some people are confused from where the distorted voice lines come from - we got something similar for First Trial and these are 90% from their times before Milgram, giving us hints to their situation from before/during committing a crime. Mahiru doesn't have anyone to declare such love to, Futa didn't torment anyone younger in Milgram and Amane hasn't talked with anyone about her father/feeling lonely. Maybe they would but not after being voted Guilty, as their verdicts started to affect them after votings ended; Mahiru, Futa and Amane canonically started to have nightmares/intrusive thoughts about what they've done and how people judge them.
Man that's a nice catch! I wonder what happened to 'Mikoto' though, since he's the only one who (seem to) survived Kotoko.
There was an assumption that distoted lines in the last voice trailer were what prisoners said in the victim's last moments which took place before milgram.

@@monolinny1817 Mikoto, having multiple identity disorder, didn't get what he should get for given guilty verdict-some kind of physical restriction/restraint. With that, his other self could fight Kotoko back, Jackalope's video talked about this, too. I believe Fuuta and Mahiru were injured because they couldn't fight or run away at all.
I’m like 95% sure that the glitched voice lines from the first trial were from after their crime, and that these ones for the second trial are from before. If this trend continues (and I see no reason why it shouldn’t), the ones for the third trial will most likely be what they said as they committed their crime. That’s when things will get REALLY interesting.

Can we PLEASE get it clear in the community that just because you voted someone innocent does NOT mean they are playing the victim card now? Honestly, the voice difference between the once voted guilty and the once voted innocent is just big. Mu sounded like joyous or happy or smthn whereas Mahiru, her voice like changed. Same goes for Amane and Mitoko aswell. I personally think it shows how traumatized or affected they are when Kotoko like, yeah. You know, beat up and stuff. Kotoko gave me chills when I heard her say "Your fang." I don't know why but it just did. It has been confirmed that Kotoko did beat them up and if Shidou and Old guy wasn't there then one would end up dead and one would get badly beaten up. Mitoko and Kotokos strength were on par so Mitoko ain't that looking bad compared to the others, I'm not saying that it didn't affect him though. Even though his and her strength were on par he said that his head hurts which possibly means that Kotoko is slightly stronger. In my point of view, Mu, is pulling up the victim card and Haruka is on board with it aswell and I am genuinely confused whether I should vote them guilty or nah. Old man aswell, I'm kind of suspicious of him, in his music video, his wife committed sewerslide and Old man wasn't at fault but he was blaming himself hardly, for he was blinded by achieving his goal and the wife thought that he cheated on her. In short they lacked communication. Wifey was suspicious of him which then led her to overthink stuff and now being surrounded with endless thoughts of his husband cheating on him to the fact that it made her commit sewerslide. I'm suspicious of him because of the fact that his innocent and that he didn't commit murder. His just some old guy working at a bar innocently. Jackalope mentioned that everyone was a murderer. So why is he the only one who didn't commit the deed? I'll have to be patient and wait for his next vid. As for Mu, my vote depends on what I think. Haru was an innocent neglected child who simply wanted love and affection from his parents so I understand him, although this aint about favouritism. Harukas video will be up soon and I look forward to reading theories and such. I look forward to Old mans video. Amanes song and video gave me chills. Like, the song was happy go lucky but once you look and observe the video closely, it won't be so happy go lucky. I look forward to evwryones theories! Halfway through the message, but Mikoto's head probably hurts due to the alternate personality rising back up. Whoever he is, he was active during the time that Kotoko was attacking him, and after the third time or so they dipped back and let Mikoto take over again. We'll most likely see it again during his second trial
And yeah... Some murders are definitely less hazy than others. I'm very curious to see if Yuno's murder was actually an abortion, and knowing that they were all murderers... sorta makes me feel weird about Haruka's being voted innocent due to y'know... potentially killing his twin brother and dog for attention. That and Shidou's medical deaths... but yeah, I believe that it is classified as a murder even if it wasn't direct. It's technically an assisted suicide, but that also counts as grounds for murder. It's probably the reason why Yuno is there too.

And Kazui was Lack of communication with his loved one. They may not seem so different but I kind of think that they are. Fuuta did it for he believed he was right, Mahiru did it for she was blinded and thought that she was merely in love. Kazui somehow feels different. All of them are the same because they were blinded by something they believe and want to achieve. Now I feel dumb and I just realized their cases are like the same lmfao. I don't really know but Fuuta and Mahiru were voted guilty because they were blinded by something that they believe, Kazui was different, he was voted innocent which I think that Milgram peeps thought his case was okay and normal and a common mistake or something. A relationship won't work if you and your partner lack communication, and as far as I know it's a common mistake among the couples. I sound dumb now. But anyways what I want to know is why did the peeps vote Kazui Innocent but Mahiru and Fuuta Guilty even though they didn't commit murder but traumatized, Depressed, anxious, scared and overthink? They didn't stab the person with a knife or shot them with a gun or even knock them out with a bat but they made the person kill themselves due to their behaviours and minds? Fuutas words made the person behind the screen take their own life away and Mahirus Actions caused her lover or crush pass away due to her obsessive behaviour, Kazuis Behaviour made his wife take her life away due to him not communicating more often with his wife. Not only do they lack communication but they also lack trust with each other. Wait don't get me wrong though, considering Kazuis job, it's normal to think that they might be cheating on you if you don't trust them. She was consumed by her own thoughts and didn't communicate with Kazui well and didn't ask or smth.
I didn't vote for any of them though since I just discovered Milgram in like, March and yeah I regret not knowing abt it earlier. But if i were to vote on the first trial, I would most likely vote Kazui Innocent. I'd vote Fuuta guilty and Mahiru guilty. Why? I mean I understand each of their stories especially Fuuta and Mahiru. Fuuta sees himself as a hero but he got too much praised that he looks for more issues he can find to recieve more praises which makes him believe that he, indeed is a hero. In the end he was blamed and guilty because of what he did. I vote him guilty because he needs to learn his limits. As for Mahiru, she doesn't know the difference between "Love" and "obsession" she needs to learn that obsessing over someone isn't love. Forcing yourself to be with someone even though that someone is clearly not interested is just not okay. So yeah Guilty. I'd vote Kazui innocent because I think both him and his wife simply needs to communicate but the wife has passed away so it's impossible. His story is just like a manhwa about couples or lovers lacking communication and trust. I apologize if my english and grammar is bad, English is my secondary language and I may not be able to speak and explain it well fluently so yeah. Anyways that's all and I'm sorry if my explanation is bad :,)) Althought thank you for reading my comment! I never thought someone would actually read it and tell me their thoughts so I'm glad!

while i appreciate the attempt to make the dialogue sound more natural in English, i have gripes with the official TL sounding too liberal ("nice to see you" instead of "good morning" in Haruka's part)

Just in time before the first MV! Amane & Kotoko's static lines have me the most intrigued, the former 'cause it seems like there's more going on with her dad then we've realized, and the latter 'cause gee whiz is Kotoko doing everything she can to make us wanna vote her Not Forgiven this time lol.

So if I'm thinking about this right, the things that are confirmed in order are:
Haruka most likely has some type of issue with not getting attention and has WAY more serious things beneath the surface
Yuno was a rent a girlfriend who went under a fake name to protect her identity, matches with her murder being an abortion
Futa was doing what he did for some sense of justice and the murder was a mistake, but everyone in his group pinned it on him
Mu... is probably really scary lmao and doesn't like being ignored
Mahiru has an obsession with love (pretty sure her previous trial had her logging a person's actions from before she met them and it sounds like their relationship only lasted a few days before she saw he committed what is assumed to be suicide)
Shidou... most likely didn't care about the people he killed because of his obsession with love, and maybe he was harvesting organs from bodies that wouldn't make it to help his lover, dunno... he's crazy though (but he didn't want to be voted innocent, for him innocent is bad and guilty is good)
Kazui seems to have been the victim of a suicide, I know the leading theory was that he was some sort of person who had a job to attend to girls and his wife (most likely the girl he mentioned) threatened suicide
Amane... is most likely not Amane anymore. It's probably not the same as Mikoto's thing, but she seems to have this deep seated thing regarding her father not coming back for her. I sort of have a feeling that the cult she was forced into (y'know, she's a kid and all) probably preyed on her mental being underdeveloped and made her undergo a complete personality rehabilitation. But something is up with her. I think it'll be really impactful in the next results. Shidou seems to be her target... we were warned that she most likely will do "something" so there is emphasis that the "wrong" option may see some permanent results.
Mikoto has a killer personality that counts as a completely separate person. This made him immune to MILGRAM's punishment, which did something to forcibly take away your freedom due to not being registered as Mikoto. While this was a little forward, I don't think we know much about the character. There seems to be some references to tarot cards maybe
Kotoko was out for BLOOD. She attacked Mahiru, Futa and Mikoto (the latter with little success) and Mahiru would have died if Shidou didn't give her medical attention. This probably means that death is actually possible for some characters.
We were given a warning that this next round will be very important to the fate of characters. I remember hearing that the characters linked in pairs of 1,2...9,10 meant that they had something linking them together, but I wonder what Amane and Kazui's are. So far, seems to be just family... the others I sorta understand. Attention, school interaction (bullies), love and obsession, (family?) and... massive killings for the last one with Mikoto and Kotoko. It's safe to assume that both of them are active murderers, and have more than a few bodies.
As for Haruka, I think that his case is understandable, he was a kid and neglected. Providing the needed attention, love, care and support to a child is important for the childs mental health. I agree with something more serious beneath the surface.
Renting girlfriends and boyfriends is a thing in Japan and I heard that they make huge money... I searched it up and it said they make like, 12,000 yen. So it's possible that Yuno may have took this job due to financial problems? I mean if I have financial problems I'd also take this job and work alot of part time jobs at the same time.
Fuutas case was clear, he thought he was doing the right thing but he unintentionally made a person take their life away and everyone pointed hands directly at him.
I agree with Mu, she may have been bullied because of this issue.. Not wanting to be ignored. Her friends might have avoided her for some reasons.. I also think Mu is pretty scary, she went from "I'm sorry" to "It's not my fault".

I don't really know about Shidou but the theories about him interests me.
His song is one of my favourites, Mitokos song is my favourite but his song is good. He did say that he shouldn't be forgiven for what he has done, the peeps voted him innocent anyways.
I agree with Kazui, he does seem like he was a victim and not the one who killed his wife.
As for Amane I am genuinely scared.
In her video, she saw a friend in pain but all the people told her to "pray" and that friend will be okay again. But she didn't listen for she couldn't bare looking at her friend in pain. So she helped the friend but the people in cult saw it. They got mad and punished Amane... Pretty chilling, Amane was just a child.. I think the reason why she dislikes Shidou is because Shidou is someone who helps a person medically with medical stuff. She was traumatized and I think she sees Shidou as a bad guy or smth.
For Mikoto, there was an explanation about the tarot cards and they're really interesting! It's in his music video in the comment section.
Kotoko punished the guilty peeps because she was voted innocent, if she were voted guilty then Mahiru, Fuuta, and Mitoko would be looking better compared to how they currently look right now. And what if we voted Shidou guilty? Then that would make Mahiru dead... Leaving only 7 left.. If Kazui wasn't there, Fuuta would be on the same page as Mahiru... If both of them were voted guilty, imagine what would have happened.. Terrifying but I feel like the results met the Milgram officials predictions or expectations. Like what if they predicted this would happen?
Regarding Mu and Harukas relationship, I understand that they are linked because they understand each other but I think Haruka got hardly influenced by Mu. As for Amane and Kazui, I think they just have a father daughter relationship something I'm not so sure abt this :,) As for Mikoto and Kotoko, I strongly agree, I mean when his other self and Kotoko faught, Mikoto was barely affected or smth..
mikoto and kotoko's theme seems to be to "protect myself" and to "protect others", whereas amane and kazui seem to be about promises, more specifically to break or keep one.
I heard a few old theories that Kazui & Amane link by "Promises." Also, I'm part of the camp that suspects that Kazui did not cheat, but was in the closet.
About Mahiru's "dates," I believe several days in her MV were just the most memorial days throughout her relationship with her boyfriend. I don't think she and her boyfriend could go into relationship and ended up with suicide that fast.
Edit: There seemed to be the change of season too based on Mahiru's clothing style throughout the MV, so I strongly believe that it isn't just 16 days, it's just the 'special' 16 days for her.
As for Amane, Jackalope's video told us that the guilty ones had some kind of physical restriction/restraint, so I believe her mental state goes nuts in trial 2 because she saw Shidou treating the injured ones. Because she, too, once treated her injured friend/cult member (in her first trial MV-the cat), and the cult punished and brainwashed her for that to the point she had to kill that friend. So, seeing Shidou doing the same thing but not getting punished like she did probably triggered her.

Haruka is autistic. Being diagnosed autistic in my experience changes your life in some serious ways, as your "off" behavior is now "explained" in countless ways to your guardian(s), peer(s). This is likely to change various things, but notably and relevantly the topology and nature of the abuse you experience as a developmentally disabled person at the hands of others. This is often related to the "coping / functioning label" assigned to you in diagnostics (these labels are a set of medical terms related to evaluating someone's capacity to be gainfully employed, in effect, and are not generally something autistic individuals identify with, created, or enjoy).
Japan's mental health care system is a trainwreck and borders on nonexistent. Diagnostics are more likely to result in "ok here take some meds, bye" rather than getting access to therapies and resources that would lead to an equitable life. The stigma for mental health issues is significant, and until recent history there was not a lot in the way of language to discuss or describe experiences ("Menhera" is a term that came out of mentally ill people finding non-stigmatized language they could use to self-describe and talk about experiences).
So, Haruka being given a 'low-functioning' diagnostic changed the topology of the abuse and neglect he was likely already experiencing. As you age, responsibilities and expectations get piled up. it's not an uncommon experience that with each passing year you become more and more progressively "that weird kid" ("who doesn't act like everyone else" "what's wrong with them"), and the things you've subconsciously noticed and wondered about yourself become more painfully evident to you, and those around you.
My diagnostic described my tone of voice (prosody atypicality) would have been evident by then to my peers, for instance as an example of "things wrong with (me)"
The expectations of those around you are forced to change as a result of your diagnostics. Any hopes your family may have had for you to "grow out of it" may be shattered as a result, and by extension their dream for what their child would become.
Haruka becomes registered permanently as a disappointment in the eyes of his family, and as a result how he's cared for has to change to account for him being "unable to achieve".
This informs the nature of his neglect.
My theory is that his limited vocabulary is a direct result of diminished socialization, which forms a direct result of isolation and neglect, rather than his developmental disability 'making him incapable'. This limits his capacity for self-expression and self-consideration, as evidenced in his first song being linguistically simplified and limited in scope compared to the others. This is why with the socialization of a year in close proximity to peers of varying ages, and the intrapersonal support he's been able to find via it, his vocabulary has improved. the milgram psychological effects, however they work (metaphysically, potentially), may be in play, but that's a scifi element we can treat negligibly.
those way more serious things? years upon years of neglect, which is itself a form of child abuse, but verbal and spiritual likely factor in. Near complete and total neglect, only doing what is legally required as his guardian, necessitating escalating forms of acting out in order to secure the base need for socioemotional attention anyone would need. This further reinforced the negative view his family and any remaining peers may have of him, further isolating him. This doesn't mean it's entirely his fault, as he wouldn't have the socialization or guidance to understand how counterintuitive the behavior is, let alone how to express his frustration and understand being abused past what his pov expresses in both songs.

After watching all knowing all agony, I think that haruka's line might take place after killing one of the animals from the video. If this is true it shows that he at least had some remorse for the murders even if he saw it as the only way to get his mothers attention.

Yep due to her getting voted innocent she thinks it's alright to follow our judgment and "punish" the guilty prisoners, hence their beat up appearance
Expect for Mikoto, he's safe from Kotoko (he got the bigger problem tho)
In the video with the bunny in the thumpnail, you can dee the verdict of if the prisoners are guilty or not. And what had happened because of it. Kotoka did beat up 3 of the guilty prisoners, one was saved by another prisoner, another was so badly injured that the "doctor" prisoner (I have it bad with names) had to nurse that person or else they'd be gone.
You can also hear what had happened to other prisoners, not just kotoka and her victims.
that's been confirmed in a previous video. it also sounds like some of them could've died if certain people hadn't been judged innocent last round.
Just to be clear, the only guilty prisoner that hasn't been attacked was Amane. (Little girl, no 8) Something else entirely is going on with her, but the reason why they are this way (save for Mikoto) is because Kotoko beat them up yeah. Both of the injured peeps were protected or saved in some way (Shidou tended to Mahiru's wounds and Futa was protected by big guy multiple times before it got worse) and she tried to attack Mikoto, who normally wouldn't be allowed to defend himself due to being voted guilty removing your "freedom" but he has an alternative personality that is immune from the effects due to being a completely separate individual.
but yeah... Amane may also be in that same boat. If you watch Jackalope explain everything regarding the verdict, he says that "something else entirely has awoken inside of her" and the leading theory was that she was brainwashed by a cult that believes in religious healing and such. We don't know what's up with her... but it's probably not good. She has some sort of hate for Shidou... he did exactly what she tried to do in her trial prior to being brainwashed, so that's most likely why. We don't know what happened to her dad though... she believed he'd come back after a journey, but this is kinda making me think that they killed him and told her "he'll be back soon" preying on her lack of mental development.

just some thoughts on the voting system and how it relates to the characters. Futa and Kotoko's theme of justice make them very obvious parallels with ... us, the audience deciding their fate. In fact, I think Futa's actions are extremely similar to the actions that Milgram viewers are being asked to take: casting extrajudicial judgement and knowingly influencing the fates of people we don't have full knowledge of, thereby risking mistakes with severe consequences. Kotoko's case is much more extreme given the uh directly murdering people and also her video literally went "I want to be drowning in the knowledge that I am right" which tells us it's not so much about justice as it is using murder as self-validation. that's why she uses milgram to choose her targets because all she wants is a "right" reason to exert violence on others, even if she has no way of knowing if that is "correct". her video literally had a conspiracy board I don't think she fact checks.
lastly on amane: her cult is very clearly operating on punishment as moral control I don't think 'punishing' or even using milgram's mental influence on amane makes any sense.... like using cult control tactics on a victim of a cult? are you sure?
I know this is 1 year, but using the milgram's power to help someone rather than focusing on the judgement of their murder is the most stupidest, idiotic and most bullshit thing everyone has ever think of. Using the power without knowing the effects on an elementary child because she is cocky? Using innocent on a doctor to punish him more? Literally, I know the modern laws has so many flaws, but logically speaking, what we're doing are just trials and tribulism and that is scaring me the most.
I don’t get how Kotoko got voted innocent and Fuuta guilty? Kotoko does vigilante shit irl (actively harming them) whilst Fuuta’s is online (where other netizens have more power). i think you're right, after reading the translation it makes sense that it was their murders sounds (before/during/after depending on the prisoner) rather than unseen voice clips between round 1 and 2. It's especially more clear for Yuno, Futa, Shidou, Mahiru, and Mikoto.
Yuno introducing herself to her client (before ab0rtion happens), Futa cyberbullied a middle school girl "brat" to her death (saying the line before sending mean messages to her), Shidou killing the other patients so he can help his "special" patient (his line is, you're in my way... hurry up and die. Said during the murder),
Mahiru being obsessed and clingy (before his bf suicide/her "murder"), and Mikoto killing people while saying DESTROY EVERYTHING! line (said during the murder).
