What a fantastic concert! There are times when crowds are enthralled by artistes who are gifted in playing brilliantly to the gallery, there are other times when an artist enthralls him/herself with their art and it is sheer joy for an audience to partake in that experience. And then there are those rare times when an artist is channeling a higher power through their being and the audience is transported to another blissful plane of existence. The whole passage of play in Vasantha was one such occasion. Ragas reveal their glory just a little more to those who do rigorous penance to them - clearly Kruthi appeased Vasantha so much that it showed in her rapturous alapana. Brihadambikayai was an excellent choice and she was in her usual top form literally toying with the swaras at the end. Vittal showed his class as a legend in the making when he turned on the magic in Saveri. And then the Jaya jaya Jagajjanani near the end was another gem, a guaranteed earworm. Thanks Mudra for this wonderful concert and for the rest of the series. A thoroughly enjoyable Navaratri season!

This rare Durga song is so lovely that I must applaud the young vidushi for including this in her kutcheri paddhati. Also, the rarest Yamunakalyni song -- besides Haridasolu vedale introduced to us by Maharajapuram Santhanam who taught that song to my friend Sri TKGovinda Rao saar who popularized that lovely song. drnkkumar/river is/central velley calif
The opening salvo, a LGJ composition in Varamu, was not just very appealing to the ears and heart, but held promise of a most enjoyable fare to follow as the whole concert indeed turned out to be !
Endowed with ample manodharma, soul-stirring bhava, an exemplary attitude and well-evolved disposition towards Carnatic music and the world of music at large, an amazing repertoire, astute selection and placement of songs as if by ordained cue, a simple unaffected but instantly captivating style of rendition and to top it all, a distinctly melodious, husky voice, this young singing sensation seems poised by divine dispensation to delight and enthral legions of rasikas over ensuing years and decades and transport them to rarefied realms with her ethereal music.
Wishing her all success and glory in her life's mission.
It is a blissful and heartening prerogative, indeed for Vidushi Kruthi Bhat to have her soulmate and life-partner, Vidwan Vittal Rangan, a versatile prodigy in his own right, as her default violin accompanist in all/most of her concerts at home and abroad.
Kudos to Vidwan Ganapathiram too, who contributed significantly to the quality and success of the concert with his soft, pleasing percussion.
And finally, profuse thanks to MUDHRA for this wonderful presentation.

Now, she is enlightening us a Muthiah Bhagavaathar's Kalarathri swaroopini as a transitional song !! ha ha ... may she go on to sing rare songs -- for ever along with his husband Rangan on the violin!! drnkkuma

One of the concerts without fanfare but soaked in classicism.Well begun is half done - Good start with Varamu Acarina m followed by brisk Kalyani . Followed by sedate Casantha - Bhrajadambikaayai. Followed by Urmila (Kamya of Simhendramadyamam) less heard melody. Settled down to a detailed Saveri Alpana & detailed Sankari Shankuru. Competent accompanists made the concert. Splendid one
