I have a question what do I need to put on an exhaust hood in the gap between the hood and the ceiling they told me it was called the splash but I don't have an idea what that is I wanted to know if you could help me, thank you
Would this work in a residential kitchen where you don't want to have a typical vent hood over the range? I'd like to just have a vent, with this on the roof.
Brent Napolitano no you do not want to install this COMMERCIAL STYLE exhaust upblast fan on a residential application because lots of reasons, mainly because it's too large and would pull every bit of central air conditioning and heating out of your home. I can list lots of other reasons but there's no need, this is a common sense thing. have a good day.
Commercial kitchen exhaust hoods require meeting numerous building safety codes with regard to mounting them, then there is the fire safety codes, electrical codes, and extensive knowledge about roofing applications. These are not to mention the fact that you are messing with the buildings HVAC system capacity. I make my living coming behind people who are novices, and unconscientious people who do this for a living by preying on restaurant owners who are desperate so solve hot air, smoke and grease issues. I'll tell all of you that this guy should not be trying to teach others through this venue about Commercial kitchen hood installation. It should be left to the conscientious professional who has been trained by those who have spent the appropriate time in the field before him. Some information has to be earned, and should not be given away to those who would make foolish attempts to use it without going through proper training. Do the right thing people, do your due diligence and locate a person, who is hailed as one who cares about others, and possesses this knowledge. Hire him to look after you.
