    Saludos. Creo que falto hablar de los CFM que es el flujo del aire, bien sea que que tu compresor adsorbe o que tu herramienta consume, un compresor normal de taller por lo general te mantiene 3.4 CFM a 60 PSI como ejemplo, entonces si tu requieres mas presion el CFM baja ya que le das una salida mas directa al aire. Si tu herramienta consume mas de lo que tu compresor puede adsorber entonces vas a parar mas veces, si bien un compresor de 25 litros te puede dar el mismo rendimiento que uno de 150 dependiendo de la presion y los pies cubicos por minuto que uses (CFM)
    Para hacerlo mas simple si ambos compresores te dan 3.4 CFM a 60 PSI significa que en ese rango ambos van a trabajar de manera constante sin que se apaguen los motores, lo que lleva a un desgaste acelerado del equipo, por eso es recomendable comprar compresores que den mas CFM a la presion que necesitas, de esta manera el flujo o CFM sera mayor que el que ocupa tu herramienta asi tu compresor sera el que pare cada que se llene y no tu por que el compresor ya esta vacio.
    La diferencia del tamaño de los tanques como dice JJ es el tiempo que se mantiene prendido tu compresor para volver a llenarse y el tiempo que te mantiene esa presion sin que se prenda de nuevo, que tan rapido se vacia depende del consumo del aire de la herramienta. Si el consumo es mayor que el que el compresor puede dar tendras que parar para que el tanque vuelva a tener una buena presion, y es lo que se trata de evitar, por eso vean la ficha tecnica de las herramientas antes de comprar.
    Ahora respondiendo la duda del video, cuando compren una herramienta fijense a que CFM trabaja con la presion recomendada

    Consume 170 litros por minuto (6 CFM aproximado) a una presion de 60 PSI
    Lo que significa que necesitas un compresor que te de un poco mas de eso para trabajar de manera adecuada y constante

    Ofrece 7.5CFM a 90 PSi segun su ficha tecnica.
    Las cortadoras de plasma como la del video por lo general trabajan entre 6 y 8 CFM a 60 o 70 PSI
    Por lo que un compresor como ese es mas que util para la mayoria de plasmas de ese tamaño

    Hola amigazo!
    No olvides decir que el aire que llega a la cortadora no sólo debe estar seco , sino que libre de aceite también!
    La mayoría de los conjuntos de filtro y reguladores de presión traen un lubricador para las herramientas neumáticas (pistolas clavadoras, lijadoras, rectificadoras etc)... Ese aceite se quema al llegar a la cámara de plasma y empasta y carboniza hasta estropear la torcha.

    Estoy viendo la manera de hacerme de una cortadora de plasma y yo también tengo un compresor de 50 lts ahora voy a tener que conseguir uno de 100 lts para que me dé la capacidad al 100% y gracias a ti por el vídeo que me sirvió de mucho

    Saludos amigo. La cortadora de plasma debe de indicar los CFM (Cubic feet per minute). Esto es la cantidad de flujo de aire requerido. Aún no tengo una cortadora de esas, pero pienso que el manufacturero debe de indicar los CFM en los requerimientos de suplido al equipo, al igual que el voltaje necesario.

      Por ejemplo los más normales son entre 0.3 y 0.6 lo cual serían más o menos 43.5psi y 87psi

    excelente amigo, he aprendido mucho viendo tus videos. Tengo un compresor de 50L y 2HP también, mi intención es cortar planchas en su mayoria de 0.8 a 2mm. Ocasionalmente de 3 a 4 mm pero en general no mas que eso. Yo creo que el corte mas largo a hacer sería de 1m, que es el ancho standard de la plancha acá. Según tu experiencia, crees que pueda hacerlo con ese compresor? al menos para las de menos de 2mm.

    Hola.. quisiera saber si un compresor de aire silencioso de carter seco de 100ltr de tanque, 3 hp de potencia (3 motores de 750w c/u) y 495ltr de recuperación por minuto es un equipo adecuado para asistir a una cortadora de plasma de 40amp. tengo dudas en cuant a la vida útil de ese tipo de compresores de aire.     Buenas noches hermano excelente video, quisiera saber si me puedes asesorar con respecto al calibre de unos tubos, te describiré el trabajo por aqui, y si te interesa en ayudarme puedo enviarte los planos en autocad, es lo siguiente, quiero fabricar una ventana para fachada de frente de mi casa, y he utilizado en los planos, para el marco o bastidor que mide 3.14m tubos 2x1 pulg por cuestion de estetica, y varillas que van horizontalmente de 1/2 pulg, verticalmente he colocado platinas de 3/16 x 1pulg de ancho, en total son 13 varillas de 1/2 que van distribuidas horizontalmente y 5 platinas de 3/16 que van verticalmente perforadas ya que las varillas las atraviesan y brinda algo de soporte para las varillas, la cuestion es que quiero saber que espesor tiene que ser el tubo 2x1 pulg donde se fijaran las varillas y las platinas, si me puedes ayudar con la eleccion del espesor te lo agradeceria eternamente, muchas gracias y saludos desde Venezuela

      Es muy buena marca de cortadora del plasma pero desconozco su capacidad de corte puedes checar en su página web

    Una consulta q tengo y si son tubos delgados de 1" a 2" de 2mm. En inoxidable el corte sera igual d rapido? Y gastara menos aire. O al ser inox demorara o sera lo mismo q el hierro? Quitame esa duda.

    1ro. 1 bar no son 30 pibras.
    2do. Hablas del tanque del compresor no de la capacidad. Eso se mide en CFM aparte el compresor enciende antes de que baje mucho la presion.
    Deberias decir el consumo de aire del aparato y el aproximado que produce un compresor y si es pequeño puedes simplemente hacer cortes pequeños esperando qie suba la presoon nuevamebte.

      Como dice el amigo, el compresor tiene que tener la capacidad de mantener las libras de presión requeridas por la cortadora de plasma durante el mayor tiempo posible y su recuperación (recarga) sea lo más rápida posible.

    Con todo respeto, te falta conocimientos técnicos y mucho mas aun, te falta mejorar y ampliar tu vocabulario para que tu explicación sea clara. El uso correcto de las palabras es básico para darse a entender. Ejemplo, en el min 5:59 dices " cuando nosotros requerimos un compresor mas grande, tenemos 150 lts" creo que quisiste decir " Cuando nosotros usamos o tenemos un compresor......"
    Por otro lado, si hubieras empezado con la definición de CFM y de ahí partido con el resto de la explicación, no te hubieras hecho bolas. Aunque no a veces no quiera entrar a temas tan técnicos hay algunos que son imprescindibles u obligatorios, sobre todo cuando hablas de la elección de un compresor.

      Si , aunque poco vas a sacar de ganancia poniendo un electrodo en una antorcha TIG. Mejor en una pinza portaelectrdos . Tampoco fluye en argon al tenerlo con un electrodo, es una tonteria.
