I loved all the strategies I learned today.
    1. Fiction stories .
    2. Writing and fixing my mistakes.
    3. Pacing + new words from pop music.
    4. Mimicking and body language .
    5. The envelope activity is Brilliant! I will start doing this to improve recalling the words I need whenever I need them during face to face conversations.
I usually listen to the podcasts, and I enjoy it so much because I feel I'm authentically exposed to the real language. Also, what is nice about them is that the transcripts are provided so that help me a lot in many different ways to improve my language.
Thank you for this informative video.

What I do sometimes, is to voice over movies characters. I choose a movie, a character, a scene and i say his lines the closest possible to how the actor say it. You can find many movie dialogues on internet. I find it really useful for my flow and prononciation. what do you think about this method ?

I have a little advice for everyone trying to improve his English or any other language he or she is learning : listen to podcasts , they are fun and more often than not podcasters use slang and informal English . Recently I started to listen to a very popular podcast ( by the name of "stuff you should know" which is the most downloaded podcast in the planet ) and I noticed an improvement in my vocabulary just by listening to them , plus the podcast is really fun , light-hearted and very much informative , so you are having fun learning pretty interesting stuff all while learning English.. Good luck

Reading is one of my pet peeves , lol . However pandemic has forced me into reading , I don’t have a job and sitting idle at home is really exasperating . Hence I have decided to invest my idle time into something productive and self-learning. I have no one to talk to in English, hence I end up striking up a conversation with myself , which I feel is now effecting my mental health , lol.
I reckon listening to podcast is actually a great idea , will give some rest to my aging eyes..
This no-job period is killing me😭

Thanks for the excellent video James! My way to improve my speaking is mimicking when watching a video (just like this one). I put subtitle and I pause each part before he speaks and I try to speak the phrase after I check if I spoke correctly with the same pacing, intonation...
Of course, the video will take longer, but you also will absorb much more the lesson that you are watching and practice your output.
    During watching a video:
Pause each part - Read and speak the subtitle
Resume - Listen and check you if said correctly
Pause again if necessary - say again with the same pacing

I was so afraid of english when I was a high schooler. But after getting my first phone, it was like I've got such great ears and eyes to the world. And I felt happy to learn english that I'll be able to read whatever I want like comics, web novels, play the story games I love, watch movies without waiting for the translation of my native language, listening to many different kinds of music, etc.... Now I watched few videos of yours and they're really great. After watching and practicing all the videos, I might reach at quite a good point of my english learning journey. Thanks a lot Sir....
