Hey I was going threw my old emails and saw a fake "you win a prise" thing. I just wanted to let you know someone might be giving you a bad name. Take care, and wish you the best.
can you send me pictures of this on my twitter or discord by
chance? @@son-lee3537
I remember farming doc mercy for lik3 ages as a kid and being so happy when it dropped lmao
I went to school telling everyone about it, even when they didn't even know the game😂
Ages??? I must’ve been lucky 😭 fourth kill and he dropped it
@@Lanibug135Before his patch work, the infinity drop rate was so low it was ridiculous. You’d have luck getting a world drop over the infinity. The patch made life much more easier lol
did you get an elemental one
The infinity was the weapon that really dragged me into borderlands. I remember seeing it during my first playthrough ever and thinking it was so cool. It will always be a nostalgic gun for me, it's a big part of the reason I love borderlands now.
Oh yeah and zero with the infinity is super fun tbh
Honestly this is me with it.
New player here, I'm curious what makes it extra fun on zero specifically?
The guns with special effects where the best
@@itsSmiv he gets the skill "One Shot One Kill" which makes the first shot fired from your gun do way more damage. Since the infinity is always on its first shot, it always gets the bonus.
@@cameronsnow4470 especially with Bee Sheild lol but I ran a Siren mostly althou i had all characters at one time on either the ps3 or ps4 versions.
When ever I think of the infinity I always think of the evil smasher glitch. When that glitch first came out the infinity was the best weapon to use for it since u never needed to reload and with the evil smasher glitch reloading ur gun could mess up the glitch. Hence why the infinity was the best for this glitch, the good old evil smasher days lol
I might need to cover the evil smasher, you just unlocked a memory I forgot I had.
This was the only reason I ever used the infinity. I could never get Vermiverous to spawn so I would spend forever killing Hyperious using that glitch to try and get a Norfleet.
@@Joe-hm1zk no matter how many times u killed hyperius with the evil smasher glitched infinity, the norfleet still wouldn't drop😭😭
my mind always goes to the xp glitch w the practice dummy, shit went crazy
I wonder if there a modder who can bring that glitch back on the latest version
The “Dove” in Borderlands 1 is a reference to John Woo's movies. In his films, doves are often used as set pieces whenever the main character performs a stunt and shootouts rarely show reloads.
Woah I didn't know this, like this even more now.
The Infinity was the first legendary I remember farming for, so despite being not my favorite pistol, I still keep in on my Zer0 for nostalgia.
I spent 3 weeks farming Doc Mercy on TVM back in high school to get this damn gun, and when I finally got it I was not able to use it at all. Not because it was too weak, but because the damn DEV's couldn't lock Gaiges minimum ammo in a clip to 1 bullet, so I couldn't even shoot the stupid thing.
Yeah it's hilarious that you just can't shoot some guns playing this character
Get the nod from dragons keep, chaotic neutral … I forget. It fixes it and you can farm it from the chests.
One huge strong point of the infinity was its place within the first playthrough: The Doc Mercy quest comes quite early, just about when you begin to tumble into tougher areas. At that point ammo efficiency is a huge thing because of the still small pools to draw from. So those who got the weapon could rely onto it for quite some time...
I personally love the Infinity on Gaige. Just spamming an endless rain of inaccurate bullets with her two Ricochet skills is so much fun. EDIT (thanks jimmy): And obviously with all the Anarchy stacks. That's what I meant with "inaccurate bullets". Should have made that more clearerer.
And full anarchy stacks.
Yeah, as long as you don't have that one skill that makes you deal more damage but reduces your mag size, which you always should cause Gaige really needs the dmg boost.
@@spicynips8466 you can get an item that fixes that in the chests in the dragon keep dlc.
Neutral chaotic necromancer
@@spicynips8466 I did this and was really disappointed the gun just doesn't shoot if you have that skill, so glad I'm not the only one!
i think the best way to use the infinity is to use the money shot glitch with it. genuinely very funny to hear the sound repeated that many times
Should note that like most weapons in bl3 the infinity gained a dedicated enemy with an increased drop chance after a patch. The anointed alpha found in the anvil has infinity in its dedicated loot pool along with the ogre and linc
Lame. Bl3 holds L’s
@@floridaman6643 game is fine, they tried something different and it didn’t work out so they fixed it. Main story is kinda mid but the expansions are fantastic
@@floridaman6643 gameplay was nice as hell imo, but the story makes me hurt in many ways
When me and my dad player BL2 we always went for an Infinity, we both liked the weapon with it's infinite ammo and just easy to access location. I still use it to this day (coming up to 11 years experience), and I will always love the gun.
Bro I remember finally being able to get this to drop after the update in 2013. Seriously felt awesome as a kid. Great video 🤘
Appreciate the love
Def would like to see a video about the dpuh and how it just steamed rolled the entire meta of bl2 for a good majority of the games life. Like sure there's others that are good for certain builds but the dpuh alone just made life so much easier especially in early game
The Infinity was actually the first Legendary I got in Borderlands 2, I got it from a weapons chest in The Dust next to the Volleyball court, it was non-element and I absolutely loved it, so it's never going to be boring to me because of nostalgia.
I liked the infinity with Zero. Getting that fire rate up and that first shot does massive damage for every shot. I gotta replay BL2 and make that build again.
The infinity always had some kind of status with me that made me like it purely for that. Maybe it was because it was a low drop rate whenever I farmed it or because the idea of it having infinite ammo made it seem more valuable that I liked it and continue to. Plus the skin is kinda nice looking, has that going for it.
I've been using the infinity more recently, it's honestly been low-key carry in me through digistruct peak
Popping headshots with the infinity pistol was a minigame unto itself.
I honestly enjoy the infinity, albeit its not very good, more so for nostalgia. Also, your videos are criminally underrated, love the series so far!
Thank you so much, If you have any tips to improve let me know!
Depending on the character, the infinity can actually put in some work…And by character I mean everyone except Salvador and Maya
@@silenc3068 I mean, as long as you have a Bee shield, the Infinity is pretty good on everyone
The infinity pistol is good for healing for Maya , shooting with full stacks with gage, and shooting a friendly kreig so he can get salt the wound stacks without going down as fast as well as getting his buzz axe rampage, I see it a the ultimate support tool
necromancer shocking ricochet build with the infinity was OP.
2:24 Funny how you show Doc Mercy’s location from the vantage point of someone who farms the Infinity Pistol, from outside, where they boost through the gap, rather than from the normal interior view most people would associate it with.
haha, I NEVER took the normal path.
I found one in a random skag pile. Still one of my favorite gaming memories
I just recently got back into BL2 and did my first ever OP 10 Run. I played Zer0 and only used Infinities + Grog Nozzle (because its too strong). Getting to OP 10 this way was a lot more farming and pain than it needed to be, but I just love having my OP 10 Zer0 with a fire, corrosive and shock Infinity at OP 10 as my loadout.
Infinite infinities
My favourite gun in BL2..could never get an element on it though! 😤
Bro facts, the chase for a corrosive one is PAIN.
Imo, making the infinity a pistol is what killed it in BL2. Pistol ammo is so common, the max capacity is nuts, and there are so many great pistol options in BL2. It would have made a better AR or sniper if you ask me.
I'd say the infinity is an all-around fun weapon to just... use
God damn i love borderlands 2 I always keep going back to it and doing new challenge runs or new characters
Loving these videos! Keep up the good work, looking forward to more!
Great job making sure to match parts when comparing the weapons. That tells me you actually play the game seriously, and that this isn’t just clickbait.
Appreciate that
I remember using the Infinity on Gaige but I never was a huge fan of it in general, mainly because I just liked doing more damage rather than having infinite ammo. I also remember having an Equalizer Masher in BL1 that I effectively used as a ghetto infinity. The bullet regen was enough that I'd never run out of ammo.
its one o those super exciting nostalgia items, where i remember watching youtube for how to farm the legendary infinity, it seemed mega cool back then :D
The Jaunt is amazing, now I'm gonna have to see where it is on my shelf to reread it
i just found your channel awhile ago and i love the 2023 bl2 content it's one of the best games ever made in my opinion
gosh... this pistol would go so damn well with nisha's skill tree, shame we did not have one in the prequels
A Gaige with an Infinity and max stacks of Anarchy was something I hadn't even considered, since I played Axton. Could literally just tape the fire button down. Kinda glad my friend who ran a Gaige back then didn't think about that, though . . . "obnoxious" would be a _kind_ word to use, and they were already that.
The Infinity was also good on Gaige because of Cooking Up Trouble. The skill gave HP regen when your mag was full but that only really worked out of combat. The Infinity allowed her to actively fight while keeping Cooking Up Trouble active.
I usually pick up an Infinity at least on normal or TVHM for the hell of it. Being able to turn my brain off and listen to music or a longer YT video while going through the easier difficulties is nice, it reminds me of all the summer days I spent doing that exact same thing either alone or with friends.
I personally enjoy the infinity for long boss fights like raids or high op or mayhem levels because if you go at them solo (which I do a lot) I find myself running out of ammo quite often so it's a safe backup if it's needed
I feel like the infinity was always the staple farm for me as a new player. I always went out of my way to farm it because it felt like such an OP gun as a new player who didnt know about any of the other good drops or about ammo management. But as I did more and more playthroughs I realized it was not worth the time to farm it especially if you want an element.
To me, the infinity is the type of gun you use when you go down or run out of ammo if that’s even possible with all the anoints n what not. It’s a supplement gun plus infinite dps. People will be upset about anything realistically, dislike toward it would be inevitable regardless of circumstances
I liked having one as a backup in case I used up all my ammo. That "break glass in case of emergency" gun.
Agreed
Funny enough I heard of the infinity as a more than legendary weapon when I was in middle school(?) And I was told I had to take the geyser up there and fight a super boss.
Now obviously that wasn't the case and many an hour had been lost to really bad timing skills but I did get it and the infinity is a good weapon, especially for loaders and constructors but low damage dies make you want to lose it soon
The infinity holds massive nostalgia points for me alongside the kerblaster, always farm one up on a new save, but aside from that I like having one around just as a backup incase I manage to run flat on ammo, I know it's not great but its better than melee-ing to the next ammo shop
The infinity with the bee is devastating, but it certainly gives you a glass jaw. When your bee shield gets hit, you might as well be showering the enemy with spittle.
Better to find another weapon that has better hitting power that can do some damage even when the Bee is discharged.
I like the lady fist and it's 800% critical damage. It can also really pop off with a Bee, but also it's 800% crit damage isn't shabby when Bee isn't full strength
While I’m not the biggest fan of the Infinity. I always make sure to have one stashed away just in case I go to a lower difficulty for whatever reason. Not having to worry about ammo (or anything really) while still deleting enemies is very nice.
I always liked the pistol you got from the "Real Boy" quest after helping the robot.
I like having it, especially when leveling , as a backup for moments when ammo runs dry.
I’m still an old school shooter fan, so having a gun that never needs to be reloaded and is always ready to fire is exactly what I’m looking for in a gun. Mine was a personal favorite for me in BL3 because she can have theoretical infinite magazines. Exactly as intended.
Bee shield episode gonna be fun
i had a blast playing this litarlly almost complete the whole freakin thing on the hardest diffeculty lol cuz i loved legendary weapon's they spit out. and kinda of borderland's 3. might get tiny tina's wonder lands idk how that game is tho but can't wait to explore it
i understand the negative points to it but the kid in me just smiles when I hold down that trigger for as long as I want. also, obtained extremely early, very helpful there. it's not great, but I love it.
i just got it and am using the nechro, amazing for the perk that regens health when magazine is full.
infinity on gaige with a ton of anarchy and ricochet was a blast for just bonkers killing stuff around the corner. got it in my first playthrough and dang did i enjoy that gun for some shenennigans
Honestly, some of the most fun I've had playing BL2 was back in the day using the Vladof Launcher infinate ammo glitch and the weapons merging glitch!
I always liked how they never made the infinity slag. They know you only use the infinity if you're low on ammo but if you had a slag one it would be broken
To me the infinity is in a very simple spot:
A backup weapon u use when you somehow completely run out of ammo. Or used on absolute trashmobs when your main weapons have high ammo consumption and it'd actually be a waste in that situation to avoid running out of ammo in situations you'd rather have some.
I tend to have ammo issues in BL2, so having an Infinity as backup is super nice
Always loved the infinity, running it with fl4k trying to get as many crits possible is a challenge and definitely helps outpace the boring factor of the gun
The first "Dove" I ever got had a x4 electrifying effect. Dog water later game, but handy in a pinch. Or if you're out of ammo
The borderlands 1 Dove is pronounced like the bird, and is named for John Woo movies which were known for lots of doves being prominent, and for people shooting way more bullets without reloading which is what the flavor text references.
I liked the infinity because it makes for a nice side weapon when ammo is running low and the fact it comes with 3 elemental variants, with the Corrosive version actually being pretty good against robots because that figure 8 pattern allows you to chip off their body parts to make them a lot slower or weaker. Plus the high rate of fire is pretty cool. It’s like having an SMG that doesn’t need ammunition. Plus the figure 8 pattern has its uses like making it slightly easier to hit most enemies at mid to close range just by pointing at their general direction, and since it’s a fixed pattern, there isn’t as much spread even though it may seem like your shots are going all over the place rather then being centered, so it’s pretty good at mid and close range. It’s not the best that is true, but it’s far from being the worst, and has its niche uses like I said before where if for any reason you are low on ammo and just need a gun that can still help finish enemies off with.
I always viewed the Infinity as a backup or trashmod clearing weapon.
It's rather unimpressive damage and low accuracy makes it not great for tougher enemies or bosses.
Against trashmobs and such however it's a good choice because it doesn't consume ammo and generally it's damage is enough to pop them pretty quick with a decent roll and build behind it.
Allowing you to save ammo for your big toys for when they're actually needed.
In a pinch if you run out of ammo it will save your butt then until you can get a resupply.
All in all I think while it's somewhat of a niche gun it definitely has it's uses and builds. I always like to have one on hand just in case.
My use for the word infinity is a great last resort when I’m leveling towards the end of a first play through, because sometimes you need more bullets for the sponges.
my gunzerkers pistol build is grog nozzle and DPUH, but it chews through bullets, so i tend to keep a fire and electric infinity pistol in other two slots (with corrosive inventory encase), it works really well with his capstone in blue tree "keep firing", smaller faster lighter on gaige made it so you couldn't even fire this weapon, although this could be fixed with a necromancer class mod.
I love using the infinity on every character, it's not a great gun but it's a good utility tool for builds for every character. I love the infinity on Salvador and Zero, it just feels fun on them. On Axton it's funny to have with a non elemental one with his fire rate skills.
The Infinity is a vital weapon for a White Mage/Support exclusive Maya.
If I pick up the infinity in the early game bl2 I love to use it for a couple levels then I get bored, for 3 I think ive used it like twice. Awesome gag gun tho, love to see it!
when I was low on cash mid level and no enemy seemed to want to have any drops for me, the infinity pistol saved my playthrough so many times
I have fond memories of it. When i first played the game i played coop with my cousin and he told me about the pistol, since he finished the game with another character already he knew during our playthrough playthrough that the next Story Mission is full of loader bots. I told him jokingly that i just pick up a infinity corrosive pistol pretty fast before we start. Well I went there just for fun and the dude instantly dropped a corrosive infinity pistol. We had the time of our lives afterwards, whenever he wanted a specific gun he told me to start my magic, sadly it was a one trick pony lol.
Infinity and Grog is one hell of close quarters gunzerking pair on Salvador. As long as I'm hitting something, I'm pretty much immortal. And no reloads! Grog's critical bonus dmg and No Kill Like Overkill carries the pair, but I can cheese through anything besides raid bosses without running out of ammo. I run Infinity with a quite unconventional Legedary Titan build (few videos about that on my channel for anyone interested).
Some remarks about Inifinity:
-The firing pattern is a godsend when hip firing (gunzerking), but yeah, needs big rof boosts
-It *seems* to me that the extra projectile of the Dva-version does double damage
-Infinity is definitely not the best pistol in the game. Never understood where it got its reputation... but it certainly is the best bang for the buck (pun intended).
It got it's reputation from being the only infinite ammo gun in the game. Just like how many people enjoyed the Recharger weaponry in New Vegas. If any game has an infinite ammo weapon while the rest of the weapons aren't that weapon is going to be special because of that specific feature and therefore be praised in the game for it being unique, and a gun with infinite ammo is just an objectively cool gun. Nowadays it isn't as special of course with how many games have it, but back then hearing about a gun that never runs out of ammo is like mind blowing. "Whaaat!? It doesn't use any ammo!!???"
I’m bias because the first time I heard of the infinity was my first Salvador play through and i grinded all the way through uvhm and when i finally got it it sucked and couldn’t kill anything, but I’ll never forget the excitement I felt for it finally dropping, 10/10 gun
Maya actually makes a fun use of the the infinity since i usually spec my maya for support it gives me a constant way to heal someone without wasting ammo on them
In The Jaunt they put folks to sleep before sending them through a wormhole-like thing to teleport them seemingly instantly to wherever the other end of the wormhole is set-up. The reason they put them to sleep is because the first few times they experimented with teleportation the subject came out crazy and extremely aged. The story is about a man explaining how teleportation was discovered and why they have to put toy to sleep. Well the guy's son decides to not breath in the gas that puts you to sleep and goes through awake because he was curious about what would happen. He comes put the other end looking like Benjamin Button when he was born and cackling that it took longer than you think. It was infinity in there. So yea...
I find the infinity to be a really fun weapon to use despite it being pretty lack-luster to other pistols you can get around the same time
I used the infinity to powerlevel my characters when I was doing something else as a kid, the marcus quests + infinity early game was the goat for leveling a new character for me
The only 2 uses I really got out of the infinity pistol were on gauge for hitting enemies behind cover with close enough, and and vault hunter on the target dummies when going afk for a small exp boost. Other than that it didn't do enough later on unless you were running OP 0 UVHM with friends and you were rocking an OP 10 version.
This is pretty similar to a lot of other comments, but: I first got it on my first ever playthrough with zero. While it isn't my favorite pistol (that would probably be the maggie), it's definitely useful with some of zero's skills. The corrosive one with a bee actually isn't bad for the peak in some situations and it is fun to do a reverse figure 8 with your mouse trying to hit every shot at range. Its main use was when I would get low on pistol ammo during the playthrough. Definitely agree that it's situational but in those certain situations it can be pretty useful.
when i think of the infinity and "controversial", I think of the time before it's drop rates were fixed (as you mentioned) and the beef surrounding yote and molmf
Just started a new play through and got infinity while doing the doc mercy quest
Personally I have always viewed the infinity as an "in case of low ammo" gun especially since you can get it relatively early its great for new characters when you dont have a massive ammo pool so grinding for one was always worth it for me.
These videos are making me want to play Borderlands 2 again.
I always saw the infinity, especially a slag variant, as a tool to use, especially if you ran out of ammo for your Unkempt Harold or Teapot or Hornet. It would let you keep attacking during a dps phase when your main guns all needed reloading. And if it was slag, it was an invaluable tool in UVHM, since you needed everything to be slagged, all the time.
You mean like the weekend I went to my buddies and left my console on with a rubber band on the trigger in the gun range lmfao.
I personally only use the infinity pistol on a vladolf only play through, it's nice to have at least one gun that you don't have to worry about ammo for.
I never understood the overhype and the other side of absolute hate for this gun, it was just fun and wacky lmfao
Had it as a third option for Salvador with a pistol build (grog and DP unkempt harold as main). When ammo was low, I switched to the Infinity, picked up ammo from enemies and chests and then switched back.
first weapon i farmed ever. So it holds a speecial place in my heart.
honestly playing maya solo on UVHM made me love infinity
Perhaps consider doing the next one on UVHM and OP levels? I mean UVHM was enough to make me quit after it expected me to grind so much for good weapons to begin with let alone OP levels. I think their are others like me who would.resonaye with the frustration that was UVHM and the reliance on slag and farming up good weapons so often.
especially level 80 OP 10, it gave unnecessary skill points and some of the raid bosses got double health and were harder than they were supposed to be.
no yeah, absolutely. i love this game to death, i have around 5,000 hours accumulated over the past decade on just about every platform its been released on, with at least 100 completions of the games story - yet despite this, ive only ever grinded 4 characters past level 61, 2 characters to level 72, one single character to OP8, and that same one character to level 74
the endgame grind past level 60 or so becomes so tedious and monotonous and takes over the core gameplay so much that it just becomes a fucking chore to farm the same 8 pieces of gear 10 fuckin times over the span of 30 levels, not including the OP level refarms. its ridiculous. i dont know how people like Joltz force themselves through it because to me, the most fun part of this game is when youre not forced into any specific playstyle. the first 60 levels of this game have an amazing gameplay and difficulty curve, and i still find enjoyment out of side quests all these years later. but then late game UVHM hits and it all goes to grinding hell. so i totally agree with your sentiment
@@spimbles LOOTER shooter. There are a lot of people that enjoy farming. It's something a lot of games take away from you now a days or hide behind paywalls or time gate.
Both you and the OP are complaining about what kept BL2 alive so long. Constantly working on builds and getting better gear to combat the growing difficulty. You have to do testing. You have to do research. You aren't just going to go out there with terrible gear and a bad build and do anything in the endgame.
Im sure there are a lot of people like you. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I find level 72 or 80 without OP levels as way too easy. It isn't fun. For me the game does not even start until i hit absolute endgame. That's when you can really experiment with builds. Which that and farming are the endgame.
@@spimbles Never really bothered with OP levels for me, I play UVHM but I never tried getting to OP 8, too lazy for that.
But I play till Mayhem 8 in BL3 though so I can get something like the Monarch, and it's much easier to wipe everyone in front of you in 3 imo
@@ElSauce At most it should of been level 80 OP8, or level 72 OP10, but level 72 OP8 was perfectly fine. I do like having lots of skill points though, but it probably would of just been better to keep it at 72 to have less jack-of-all-trades builds (like Fallout 4). Too many "skill points" (whatever it may be in the game) is always a bad thing in any game.
For raid bosses getting double health, that is only Hyperius and Voracidous due to a bug. I wouldn't blame OP10 for that, but rather I would blame Gearbox for their own ineptitude at balancing their games and their lack of care or willingness for updating their games to a balanced, stable, "bugless" state (because of greed at the top level). They would rather continue on making new mid-tier story telling and content games (Wonderlands and the new Tales) than fix what they broke in the past, it's sad. They released OP10 and didn't fix some of the major bugs plaguing the game that were already there or brought in from the OP10 update.
The Infinity is a mainstay on my Pistol-Salvadors for general mobbing, because even with a maxed hoarder mod, you can't keep up with the ammo consumption if you're running Ruby/Grog + Anarchist and I like the ammo reg, makes me feel BL1-ish.
infinity is one of my favorite weapons, mostly cause the first ever time I played borderlands I was running out of bullets a lot on early game, then I discovered this weapon by sheer CHANCE... and it was love on first sight~
I usually love infinite ammo weapons on other games, but on borderlands I really just use at the start, from level 8 to 15... after that I just leave it on my backpack just in case I need an emergency gun...
I have a lot of good memories playing with my cousin, and both of us would be rocking an infinity + bee while going through the many DLCs. It was pure mindless fun, and for that, i love the infinity, I do understand though, why some might hate it, but eh they can always unequip it if its too easy, soo
IMO the infinity is good DPS if you can't find any elsewhere, but the spread and nerf'd fire rate/damage compared to an anarchist gets pretty old in the higher difficulties. Also, I found myself liking the borderlands 3 version, I think the spread was tighter or something.
The Infinity pistol(s) was the pistol that I kept in my inventory when I run out of ammo.
Not my favorite weapon, but a nice weapon when needed.
I never really thought much of Infinity. Saw it more as a trophy overall, but also like, an “emergency sidearm” in the event I happen to run out of ammo. Kinda like the Doom 2016 pistol.
It’s also a great weapon to run with if you to save up to upgrade the ammo of your other gun types, as you can just completely ignore upgrading pistol ammo. Lol
I found it fun during BL3 as Zane just because I found it kinda funny with his wall to just mow down things that would initially cause problems for me if I didn't hold down the trigger and not reload
I love the infinity. It makes running through borderlands 2 story a breeze when I come back to replay it every once in a while. I dont want to spend my time looting ammo so I just slap an infinity on my character and go to town.
Had fun swapping to the Infinity on my Axton, pairs well with the Bee Shield. 😂
