Two grains of sand, like ornaments, spin around in the expanse of my memories, aiming to reconstruct a sound-image. Each time the image is recalled, it decays.
However, the sands and hands strive to etch that image into the recesses of my mind, the land. This piece centers ornamentation as the primary focus of the music, shows rhythm as a “body movement phenomenon”, and explores a poly-tempi network between musical gestures and elements. - Bahar Royaee
