    If I could tell one advice for 99%of people I see when I train somewhere, it would be this: strive for the full range of motion.
    This is the biggest mistake in general that most people do and it may happen to me only, but when I go somewhere to train i always see this problem.
    Let’s see why is this such a big deal and why should you pay more attention to it as well!

    I stop using weighted and focus on high pull up and deep dips, it give me a significant progress on my pulling and pushing strength. Still can't do 10 reps but it's more worthed than doing high reps.

      @@icaropinto1334 I'm around 6-7 reps bar under nipple, my target maybe until my belly. Not fan of high reps, and I stop doing weighted because I feels more balance by just body weight and not effect much on my planche journey.

    No wonder I got strong faster than average guy just by working on flexibility and full range of motion when doing calisthenics, I realized that like three months ago I feel like I have a lot of strength but I couldn't use them but after watching your video and implement them I feel the difference, once again thank you!!! You're a life saver I couldn't imagine how my wrist, shoulder, etc would be without your prehabs video! The world needs more like you bro!

    Thank you for reinforcing this cocept. Yes, I couldn't do pistol squats so I used a chair and went half way. That was fine, but I was limited by weak knees. I thought I couldn't get past that, but I saw that correct pistol squats went all the way down. I decided to throw away my pride and do only a couple asisted pistol squats. It was very hard at first. But week after week, I got better and better and my knees got stronger and stronger. Now I can do 7-8 clean pistol squats on each leg in 4 sets, and my legs feel great. (Age 43)

    Full range of motion is so important. I admit I never used to care too much when I did push ups but I recently decided to do full range and in about one month I have increased my push ups from 12 to 16, which is a lot for me cause I started the year on 8

    Great video. I would add that probably the most important reason people do poor form is their ego. It´s humbling to try real push-ups after years of doing them wrong, and finding out that you can do only 10 instead of 25. This is why, when doing any kind of training, it´s very important to leave your ego out of it. If you need help, ask. If you need a break, take it. If you are losing focus, take a minute, do a couple of deep breaths and try again. There is nothing worse than half-assed training.

    Good stuff. One can bulk up muscle with limited ROM, that's what bodybuilders do and it is effective.
    However, I say the more interesting and lofty goal is physical ability - strength, flexibility, speed, power, accuracy of movement, endurance and not to be forgotten - joint health.
    For this limiting ROM is almost worse than not doing anything at all.

      @taillardromain8313 Před 2 lety +3

      First of all, do it only if you're already comfortable with bodywight dips. Than increase slowly de range of motion. If your joints allows you to go deep like that, it would be safe, but don't go that deep if you struggle with dips, or with 100kg ^^... and I don't know if it's really necessary to go that deep but just a little bit depper than 90° should be ok :)

    I'm still trying my best to get full range of motion in dips, but I don't know why I still can't do them, my front delts hurt, even with bodyweight. And your demo with limited range of motion is best range of motion I've ever got XD

    • @timinator1178

      Some people don't have that kind of mobility by default. It is actually quite dangerous for some people to attempt to do that kind of ROM on dips.

    Ego.
    Many people are concerned only with competition and impressing their friends, so numbers matter, more than good form.

    Ego is a big reason for a lot of people. They want to tell themselves and others they can do 20 pullups, when in reality they would struggle to do five with full ROM.
