That shot on the running pig damn
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Saw my grandpa make a shot like that on a running whitetail.
Thanks Steve for showing the hunting culture that still lives here in California
As someone who lives in California I totally agree. But he was in the same state I live in, Jefferson.
@@ecv03 no such thing
I'm 100% against liberalism but I would also never accept California being split or balkanized
@@ultimasolucion6904 why not? When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to alter or abolish the political bonds that tied them to another. If the people of Jefferson want to make their own state, what is so bad about that?
Hank seems like such a cool guy! you should get him on the show more
They have finally figured out that we like him cooking.
Pretty much the whole process is cool. Glassing, stalking, shooting, butchering, and cooking
"This one was runnin, shot him in the head" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Who else would love to get to hunt with Steve? I know it would be one hell of a experience
I've never been hunting. He made me appreciate it and not judge those who do. Only the trophy hunters, who hunt endangered animals still irk tf outta me
Don’t even have to hunt with him, even though that would be amazing, just a beer or two on the back porch to talk with the guy. After watching all of his stuff and reading his books, he’s more of a best friend to me now
@@remyphilly5168 me too and while I wouldn’t do it when explained to me that the hunters’ money to do so goes towards conservation and expansion of that animal’s habitat and they kill older animals near death to preserve the younger animals who haven’t reproduced and without said money, the species would be in a tougher spot than if the hunter hadn’t bought the right to do it, I understand it a little better. It seems counterintuitive and ass backwards but hunters’ money is the biggest thing protecting these animals because there are no funds to do so otherwise
I use to have that dream but after he lied about Africa things changed this guy lied about Africans eating dog's because he eat dog's he thinks now he can just mislead people's
Thanks God today you're not eating dog's did you know Steve have tested positive for eating dog's
Imagine hunting with Steve. “You go sit over here, I am going to go over there and shoot some stuff”.
Finally I get to see the man name Hank make his famous dish from jackrabbit
That shot on the pig running is unreal
if you look up wild boar hunting in Germany there is a man who has insane reflexes ans accuracy hitting running boar. The stuff i have watched on youtube is astonishing.
This show is my religion now
I haven’t been this committed to watching show since. The first True Detective. Now That hunting seasons over, I’m binge watching Meat Eater. Love it
5:04 that was the quickest reload I’ve ever seen with a double barrel!
I love how Steve says almost every episode “this is one of the better things I’ve eaten in a long time”
This is what I was watching when the ball dropped for New Years.
That was a fun one and Hank has a great attitude when getting skunked! Those dishes looked delicious!
The hard backed pack with the notch allowing it to double as a shooting stand. That's awesome. I need that.
Love this show! Meateaters shows the many sides of hunting, the prep, sometimes the journey, the trials of the hunt, and the rewards. The rewards not necessarily being getting the deer, elk, or pig, but just doing it, and putting your feet back on the ground and trying to understand the shifting patterns/problems involved in a hunt in an effort to get the prey. Also the photography and locations are great! Keep it Steve!
“just gonna cut ‘is juggler”
Such a great episode! I love the foodie aspect of hunting and fishing!
You never cease to put a smile on my face! The enjoyment of seeing someone in the open hunting/fishing/camping does keep the spirits up. Take care. Happy New Year.
Nothing like eating what you just harvested in camp. Hunting in Cali can be a real challenge. Hot days and lower success rates are the norm, but great food under a shady tree with good friends and cold beer makes it pretty darn tolerable! Another great meateater episode!👍
I'm a big fan of what both of these guys do and am so glad MeatEater posted this one to their channel! I would love to see another episode with these two in the future.
Dude, cookbook? Nice running shot on that pig.
Hank’s webpage is outstanding. I found it looking for a recipe for a store bought rabbit and he ended up getting me into hunting. Thanks Hank.
Love your show thank you for showing people what hunting is really about. I would love to see you do a public land hunt in the D7 or D8 zones that i hunt. Its beautiful rough country that can hold sum nice deer if you can find them. Thanks again for a great show and happy hunting and eating.
thank you for putting these online, I love these shows!
2 of my favorite hunting personalities in one episode! Great show you guys
Would love to see Steve get it done on public land in California.
That is all I have to use in California. Luckily I have forest service land out my front door. But opening day for deer is crowded.
Just what i was waiting for, a good cali pig hunt. Need more pig hunting on the show, from texas to the east coast
as lame as california may be socially, we have truly some of the best pig and duck hunting
Hank Shaw is... badass. He’s got great wild game cook books. Look up Buck, Buck, Moose... thank me later
I like Duck, Duck, Goose myself. I'll get Buck, Buck, Moose when I make the switch from feathers to fur. Which I feel might be happening sooner. I got the hunting bug real bad.
Pheasant quail and cottontail is a true masterpiece. We always shot tons of doves here in colorado but only one or two recipes for them. That book gave me several amazing recipes for them besides just dove poppers
Best show on tv. I've read both of his books.
@@stateofmissouri5651 you should. We have a shortage of hunters right now.
@@blllllllllllllllllllrlrlrl7059 no joke there. Truly is a dying hobby. Seems like a lot of millennials have a problem with it. I’m 28 by the way
love when you hunt california !! my grandpa has a ranch in central california we hunt pig and deer !!!
Man I 'd love to hunt some pigs here in CALI, I m way down in San Diego, zero pigs down here. If by Chance your open to it I'd love to find a spot up there to hunt. If you want a hunting partner I'll make the drive. I have a pig tag as we speak. Love Rinella By the way.
@@JohnHLand87 Hi, I am down in San Diego, The DFG rounded up the few piggys we had here and removed them ( 15 years ago). DFG does not even give numbers on pigs in our county, and its a huge county......I used to travel a bit in Central coast for surfing but now look to hunt.
Steve by far has the best hunting show on tv, man is packed full of useful knowledge and has altered my outlook on hunting to where i one day would like to be as good with my own show as well. Hes the bill dance of hunting.
More Hank Shaw and small game hunting, please!
I've killed a bunch of jackrabbits in the Sierra foothills and they taste great. I don't understand the bad reputation.
First time hearing about that rabbits and hares considered bad by anyone. In Europe everyone looks at it as a treat.
When I was a kid the town would have a competition to see who could make the best jackrabbit recipe. The rabbit being as lean as it is can have its flavor changed more than any other animal. One year someone won making it into a peach kobler desert.
This is by far one of my favorite seasons of MeatEater
Hank came to a lodge my parents ran for a while, Silverback duck lodge in Manitoba Canada. When I was young, maybe 9 or 10 I took him on a Wilson Snipe hunt, he wrote an article about it. This is pretty cool to see that you know him.
I am so happy for you that you guys found your niche in life at such a young age. Enjoy your journey and thanks for sharing.
Wow you guys are very informative. Thank you. Your show is outstanding.
I love you guys for posting these episodes, so cool.
I've been trying to learn how to catch these guys up here. Finally some good info.
Just watching this and comparing it to my pigeon shooting/rabbit shooting here in the UK really makes me envious. There's so much variety in America. Maybe after I finish my degree I will explore visiting again or perhaps working in America, though i doubt there will be a high demand for British Archaeologists.
Great video Steve!
The browned vinicen he put in the pan before the wine looked sooo good. Don't get anyyy fresher than that my friend
Okay, "Jägerschnitzel" are a story into itself and German history. In West Germany it involved a slice of beef or pork pounded, floured, dipped egg and breadcrumbs. The East Germany version used a sausage, "Jägerwurst" crumbread coated deep fried.
The coating keeps the moisture in its meat filling when slowly pan fried as with any schnitzel.
I learn so much watching this show! Definitely gives me that inspiration to go out and get some!!🤜🤛💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
California needed this episode. Thank you sir.
Two of the best hunting and cooking together what could be better!
Your Killin it man! Best show out there
Awesome episode, If you hunt birds I highly recommend Hank Shaws cook books. Duck, Duck, Goose has upped my wild game cooking quite a bit.
Finally a great shot on that running boar. High five! I think it’s more important what the game eats when it’s translated into tablefare. Jackrabbit makes excellent pate style spread.
I'm like hank, I'm a big fan of cooking and using fresh stuff, I been wanting to get into hunting. Been doing a lot of research, came across your videos and I'm even more excited to learn more about hunting.
Hope you can get hunting next year. Just going is my reset button. You'll love it.
@@dave131 I'm a big bass fisherman, so I know hunting will be relaxing like fishing is for me. Especially just being outdoors in general, thanks for the encouragement. Goodluck on your next adventure.
Looks like my home of tehema county!!!! Where at in northern California
I was thinking there or around cottonwood or towards shingletown up the back way?
Maybe so in you're area that whole area looks the same lol I grew up in cottonwood and Bella vista but live in anderson now
@@Moose96080 i tried turkey out there last year. No luck. I’m around chico.
Being left-handed is a GIFT!
I love the passion involved with the cooking
Man, I love your channel.
I am a hunter in Germany and for me it is all about eating.
I shoot left handed to. Finally got a 308 CZ American 557. It’s gorgeous. The scope, a Leupold
That dish he made with the deer is very similar to Hungarian Gulyas, one of the most amazing dishes in the world. Guess I know what I'm making tomorrow night for dinner! Love this show
Best food you can make out on the wild .......awesome show..
I love this chef and he had Kerrygold butter! Gonna try these recipes.
Steven Rinella is a legend! 🙌
I like that you put the missed shot in there - keeps things real
As always a great video. The meat eater crew always pays so much respect to harvested game. It would be awesome to see the crew come down to central Florida and do a public land gator hunt.
this was such a cool episode to watch being born and raised in cali mainly nor cal
What a great duo and some amazing dishes wow
Hank, hoping you see this. Steve sent you out to where no game was & headed off to bag his lot. Seen it before, as I’ve been the one being sent in wrong direction. :-) You did great with the cooking side though. Cheers from fizzy Aust.
Saludos desde Atlanta no me pierdo tus videos asen un gran trabajo simple mente impresionante
Great content! Loved the addition of ways to cook wild game. When are you going to Alaska for a fishing and hunting cooking adventure?
This is just awesome I love what you all do
Gotta love them black tail in the middle of that hot valley in the summer
That line at the end had me in stitches...... That buck, it still has no idea we were trying to kill it.
Yo Steven, your my new idol! I'm a fisherman and my Chinese friends and my don't waste much. I love you do things and your attitude. We are missing that in our younger generation.
Man alive..Hank had some skills!
The last recipe is very similar to the one we make in southern Italy, we call it "soffritto" and it's mostly a winter meal.
15:26 they literally have us looking right at pigs acting like they are stumped lmao
Ready for season 4. I watch faithfully.
Anybody catch that hip fire on the jack rabbit?
Guys a great shot.
Wouldn’t fancy getting away from Steve in a field with his rifle. What a shot
That Kid From Michigan can Climb , make the Right Move , put the Pill in the Proper Spot, Quickly Quarter, Pack it and get to the Pot With Ease!!!!!! Morton Neff and Fred Bear watch down on Guys like Is With SMILES all the time
Great Stuff Again today
Love these episodes I need to start making my videos more like this
Dam that running headshot on that pig. Nice shot steve!!!
"Young Is Tender"
I’ve binge watched all these episodes never hunted in my life, besides using a BB gun to shoot squirrels. But this show makes me want to go out be vulnerable and just go out and hunt. Definitely bucket listed.
Do it ! You'll love it. And you learn just how good you can hear. It's wonderful.
Two Christmases this week thanks Steven.
I have smoked Jackrabbit in my fridge right now. I added some of it to my scalloped potatoes and it was really good.
This is top ten favorite episode!
This is what being an American & A Man is all about in one fine show, salute & keep up the good work.
The heart is the best part of a wild pig
Musle structure between the 2 is crazy. But there's Columbia blacktail almost as big as a mule dear in the northwest mnts! Big boys!
I love this show. Greetings to you from Papua New Guinea a country located at the northern tip of Australia
That's what them Italian Mobster's used to Cook. The Pork that is. Awesome Show.
If this place is "crawling" with pigs, the reason, why the deer are so scarce, might be, that the pigs are eating the fawns.
That was my exact that as well, don't even have to eat the fawns, just their presence could pressure the dear into leaving the area.
It's more likely that they are just competition in general. Pigs are bullies, they will eat anything and everything and are completely out of control in the southern US.
Why on earth this channel doesn’t have three or four million subs is beyond me! 👍🏻🇨🇦
Steve’s a great hunter damn
"Gotta leadum abit" Greatest channel !
Hank is amazing. All three of those dishes he cooked look incredible.
I tried his jackrabbit recipe on a snowshoe hare and it was spectacular.
@@ORoberge I wanna try it too, looks so damn delicious
