I care. I'm glad Jim got out of this dark time in his life. I went through a deep dark depression back in 2015 at the age of 23. When I thought I wanted to end it all... This guy is a legend of the Essendon footy club. Will be revered as such.
I'm a wce supporter..but all that aside... What a brave and insightful interview from a champion of the game 💯👍
All my heroes growing up have had a terrible time in one way or another. My absolute hero was James hird, second was Michael Schumacher and thirdly is Ricky Ponting. I love all these guys and wish nothing but the best for all!

James is a great guy & so likeable, feels like he always needs to be pedaling hard for success. Only now is realising that sometimes U can just sit, relax & enjoy the ride while gliding on that bike..
Kudos to him for being so open about events. He was certainly a gifted player. Whatever his involvement in the scandal, for a well-adjusted person to plummet to that level shows what sustained pressure and media scrutiny can do to a person. Thank heavens he recognised his predicament and sought assistance.

I'm so glad that he's come out of his dark place. He was one of the greatest footballers I ever had the pleasure of watching; but to overcome his demons and move on from his mistakes, suggests that he's an even better man.
Continues to be a gifted and brave person. His honesty is clearly part of his healing.
As we wait to hear the coaching direction at Essendon, I can only hope the club realises the power of redemption.

What a heartbreaking story, the shame and loss of identity driving James to swallow a bottle of sleeping pills and try to end his own life. I'm so glad that he is still alive, if you ever read this, you have a lot of support and people who love you Hirdy, probably more than you know.

I had zero respect for JH previously before this interview, his arrogance was a big part of what led to the downfall of his club, his players and his health, BUT he deserves a new start, he owns his shit here, and he is not the same person following this self inflicted trauma, he's a stronger better person now. His message now is inspiring to all who have made mistakes and own them.
