- Here's my more realistic version of a day in the life - cyber security. See below link for the first version if you're interested. In the video I touch on how I got into Cyber Security, how any person can get into a tech position without an IT degree, and my overall morning routine/after work activity.
See you all in the next one,

Your day sounds awesome! Ive been looking at remote positions lately and its good to know you don't have to have a specific tech background. Nice to see you posting more :)
Thank you! Ya go for it I love working remotely. I actually did graduate with a tech degree but I donât believe itâs really necessary, it helps tho to get a foot in id say, but after itâs all fair game
I love the MapleStory background music, it's very nostalgia inducing. Also, amazing video! Thanks for the insight.
Haha glad you noticed the nmaplestory music
Good ol Kerning. i got an ad on my phone while playing a game the other day and the ad had Aquarium background music that they completely ripped off from Maplestory. Took me a minute to realize where the background music was from but when i did i wasnt surprised. maplestory had amazing music
This video was fun to watch and I for one would like to see more of this type. Maybe a apartment tour? I don't think you updated us of your pad since you left Calgary but I may be wrong. Also, penguin workout cracked me up lol
Thanks! I think youâre right might be an idea Iâll consider as a future video idea. Vlogs arenât my go to types of videos but I try to have fun it when I can
It feels like every old-school Maplestory player is somehow getting to work in the cybersecurity industry. Information Security Analyst and Mapler here!
Haha! Glad you noticed the classic maplestory music.
I think everyone in tech played maple
Hey man, nice video! I wanted to ask if there are any cybersecurity certifications and skills that you would recommend focusing on? I'm graduating in cybersecurity next year but all openings in my area have outlandish expectations for internships (they don't accept people that just have passion and a desire to learn going for them). From an insider point of view, would you say that there is anything specific that can give you a major boost during interviews? CISSP certification and machine learning experience is a good start from what I observed, but what do you think about it?
Hey sorry for delay. I will admit coming out of school and landing any position can be a lot more challenging than even having a single year of work experience under your career belt. It sounds like you're on the right track doing any kind of security certifications. Keep knocking on more doors/applying, the right people will give you a shot. FYI - those area you mentioned that don't hire people with that passion / desire to learn is not a company I'd personally would want to even work for in the first place, I'd move on. You're on the right track, so keep going!
The music at 5:10... bruh is that maplestory? Or some other MMO? My nostalgia spider senses are tingling!! Fantastic video sir.
you're def hearing what you think you're hearing. thank you!
Nice work mate đđ» i know the struggle with not knowing what to eat đ
Found your awesome channel today and was watching your vids till now lol, they're clarifying many of my doubts but i still have a lot more to be answered đ...hope i find clarity soon
Thanks and i know right? Great videos you make on cyber security as well. cheers
Kudos for using OAT MILK in your smoothie! GOOOOOD STUFF!
hahah thanks for noticing my use of oat milk!!
Hello Frank! This has been a fun and informative video. I graduate June 29th with my Bachelor's in cyber security. Any advice for me getting any remote work? I live in a rural location so, it would work best for my situation.
Thanks Chris and congrats graduating. Only advice I got is really to apply to as many positions as possible. You may not find the perfect job as your first job out of school, but here's an opportunity for you to now get paid to learn, as opposed to paying all that money in school to learn. So have fun with it and best of luck.
Howâs it going? Any updates after graduation?
Ive been looking into cybersecurity lately, Do you recommend i go to a bootcamp online, or into a actual school like (mcgill)
it depends on your situation. but if you already got a computer related degree / back ground, I personally would just do a bootcamp online.
This makes me want a wfh position even more đ. I wonder if you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert or both? I feel like I have good solid relationships with family and friends but ive been looking for a position like this where I can thrive but it keeps me on the more "introverted" side, if that makes sense. I've been really getting to know myself and WFH seems like something that's meant for me. Im looking into IT, Cyber Security or Digital Marketing etc. anything that will lean me towards good pay, better hours and control of where I can work. Nowadays, that seems more and more possible.
I feel like I'm abit of both intro/extro however many of my friends would say I'm more extro. Happy you're looking into IT/Cyber Security, keep it up
how did you find your job, was it through co-op from school? good job on the video
Thanks! I actually applied on their website. Although the original position I was going for wasnât cyber security, but after a year I transitioned into it thanks to a referral.
Hey Iâm changing careers, I have no computer science coding background. I have just completed a google professional certificate in data analytics and Iâm interested in cybersecurity as well. Should I do a certificate or need to do a boot camp or get a degree to get a job in this field?
Hi. This is just my opinion, but if you already have a degree (any) I personally would do security certificates / do bootcamps vs going down and paying $$ on a degree. Biggest hurdle I'd say is simply getting yourself out there and applying. Best of luck.
@@FrankHuynh awesome thank you so much for the reply
New to the channel. Is there any videos how you keep yourself updated in the tech world ? do you a goal to finish courses in IT every month or so? something like that
Hi Daniel! I havenât made a video how to stay updated, but Iâd personally small things like âgoogle newsâ and set it to technology and read articles you find interesting. Now for IT courses, itâs really up to you how many you wish to do - itâs at your own pace. I however tried setting doing 1 cert every 6 month or year, itâs really what you make it. Good luck
@@FrankHuynh thx bro. That's s great way to stay tuned in IT
Do you have to get certified every 2 years? While in cyber security? I was told you do , that kind a scared me away from it
It likely depends, I don't need to however it does help to stay on top of your certs if possible!
@@FrankHuynh so it's not recommended? And why come you don't need to ? If I may ask
Hey Frank, I am a Cyber Security student in Canada rn, Please share how did you get your first job in Cyber Security. Do you have certifications? Please share more.
Thank you.
Hey! I have cloud certifications from MS/Amazon but nothing cyber security specifically. I got in through a connection
I was gonna guess you were wearing Puma ankle socks after I saw the mixed berries. Costco baby!!
Hahaha specific but true.
Should I take a Job related in Development of Websites or coding or do you recommend Cybersecurity?
I can't answer since it's your personable preference. Choose the path you feel happier pursuing. Don't necessarily go with the route that makes more.
@@FrankHuynh which is less stressful?
I find myself asking the same questions. All of them seem highly paid, stable, futureproof. I guess im tied between cybersecurity or coding at the moment in terms of what interests me the most, but leaning towards Cybersecurity. I'm looking at which of the 2 has most remote work aswell I think that would be quite a defining factor.
Do you actually do any work besides reading emails and sitting in a meeting or is the busiest part of your day going for a walk and making lunch LOL?
lol i know that's what appears to be. a lot of it I can't put on the video is why
@@FrankHuynh could atleast go over it broadly such as are you doing compliance work? Responding to alerts or incidents and not give specifics maybe?
Yo next time I come you better make that smoothie for me
Itâs pretty healthy smoothie overall I love it.
Hey frank .look at Ingredients of the peanutbutter you put in. Get just peanut butter Ingredients instead.god bless.
interesting ill have to look into the labels. Thx for the concern!
Not the maplestory soundtrack đ
Its for the old school maplers back day :P
Iâm 24 years old working in investment banking, is it too late for me to transition into cybersecurity
Nope
My friend's father was 40 when he transitioned to cyber sec
If you are willing to study and are ready to always learn new things absolutely not. No tech job is "too late" at 24 yo.
Not at all. you're never too late to start something. Best of luck, u got this
No, is investment banking not a good field ?
Hey! As you said, no need for overdramatics, just reality. I suppose CZcams needs more of this. I couldn't help but imagine myself in your shoes. I would eat more, lift weights (hate core exercises), try to have some kids, and attend church. Thanks for the video! Take care.
hmm...
that kerning city theme bgm đ
only the OG maplers will understand lol
Do you need coding skills to be a cyber security analyst?
I don't have any coding skills no ill say no to coding :)
put the painting đŒïž behind the couch behind the lamp !
Haha I thought about that, thanks! I ended putting it somewhere else
if you're looking for even more health benefits, instead of oat milk you should use soy milk as soy milk has more protein!
Good eye! I will take that into consideration in my next smoothie, although soy milk isn't my fav, it's still good to know it has more protein
Day in a life should be illegal if you can't reasonably explain what you did in each hour from 9 to 5.
Sorry
@@FrankHuynhwhat is your salary per month with cyber security
this helps alot
â@@FrankHuynhdon't be sorry bro, I perfectly understand you, I work in cybersecurity also...đ«Ą
Indeed, waste of time
Woooow
Great job Bro
My namesake. I wanna be like you.
Please any guidance ?
My advice is to apply to as many jobs as possible, while completing any relevant IT security certifications. You got it! No need to be like me lol.
You use VM kali linux

Hello i'm from in VietNam
nice welcome to the channel!
Great videoâŠtoo much food content though
I love food
Video is kind of about foodâŠ
...and going to the gym!
love this video, id watch more. Liked how casual it was and for the next one iâd like to here more about what the work is actually like since cyber analysts have different duties/roles depending on the company. Iâm planning to get in cyber when i graduate đ«Ąđ
Thanks Roman, tbh I didn't think this vid would get this amount of views so I felt like I may have made it too casual lol
So, basically you did nothing but a meeting .....noice!!!!
I plead the 5th lol
