  • With the recent Rock and Play recalls I thought it was an appropriate time to share my experience with this amazing device over the course of the first two months of my son's life. I truly believe there is no safer place for your baby to sleep than the Snoo for the first 6 months.

    What a cool product and definitely worth every penny!! Good sleep is so important! I’m finally working myself into proper sleep after struggling for years, and I definitely feel like a different person. You are such a smart mom, Megan! Developing all these good habits early on is a great life foundation. ❤️

      Pattymac Knits thank you patty! I think I was worried about my sleep primarily because if I’m not sleeping then I can’t function and take care of him! Lol but you’re right, good sleep is so important and hopefully I’m setting the foundation of health for him.

      @@MeganBell I'm sure! So many children are absolutely wired. People kind of make light of it and think it's funny, but it's really not. And exhausted parents aren't doing anyone any favors.

      Yes! I would trade every baby item under the sun for the snoo. I’d wrap him in rags and live on ramen! Sleep is priceless.

    Keep doing these updates with the snoo! I would love to see the transition into the other sleepers...I know it’s supposed to help you transition into sleep training by six months. I would love to see how that works if you plan on doing that! I bought it and have it set up but my baby isn’t here yet till next month

    Thanks for this review! Is the noise from the snoo disturbing you at all? I feel like the sound is pretty loud and the mechanical whirring would wake me up.

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  Před 4 lety +1

      I’m a VERY heavy sleeper so it doesn’t bother me at all. But my husband is a light sleeper. He has always enjoyed having a fan running at night but quickly got addicted to the white noise the snoo makes! Lol

      They definitely do! Get on their mailing list and check their website often. We got ours at the first of the year, so it must have been a Christmas/New Years sale. I know they recently had another sale at Memorial Day as well.

    What about babies who yurp large amounts constantly? Back position seems risky for choking in this case.

  • @MikeAnnarose

    My wife and I, first time parents are borrowing the Snoo from a friend for our baby boy due in less than 2 weeks. We have a larger home bc her parents live with us and have several other options for sleeps and naps set up around the house so that we won't have to always come back to our room upstairs to put him down. We have a bassinet in her parents room, a crib in his nursery up stairs on the other side of the house, and a large pack n play in the living room for when she's working in the office. Is the snoo going to cause issues? Will he become dependent on it? We're hoping we can just put him down for naps utilizing all these different options depending on where she is in the house during that time.

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  Před rokem +1

      I understand your concern. The reason the snoo is so effective is because of the combination of rocking, swaddling and white noise. Babies can have a hard time transitioning out of the womb and into the real world so having the snoo allows them to adapt to it slowly. I don’t know if your baby will become dependent on it. I will say my oldest did so well in it and we had trouble putting him anywhere else during those first six months. My daughter on the other hand would sleep anywhere as long as she was swaddled. I think most parents find the snoo to be such a useful tool for babies who won’t sleep anywhere but on them or in them arms. Since you are borrowing it and there is no investment I’d say you don’t have much to lose. You’ll just have to wing it and see how your baby does. Furthermore, the happiest baby website/blog has some amazing articles that explain the importance of swaddling, how to swaddle a baby who doesn’t seem to like being swaddled, etc I found them very useful with my babies

    Even with the reflux of baby, this is a good product? My daughter is so restless most nights because the acid from the reflux is uncomfortable... and so we have been told to prop her up while sleeping. Although Im not really sure if the propping is helping.

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  Před 5 lety +2

      My son has reflux as well, but it's not painful or super uncomfortable for him, so he's not on medication. We were advised to keep him propped up for 30 minutes after he eats, but it never made a difference for us. I feel the snoo really helped my son fall back asleep when he would spit up at night. Because no matter how long I propped him up, he would still grunt and spit up throughout the night. But with the snoo, it would comfort him and he would fall back asleep quickly rather than me being up all night rocking him and comforting him. I still rock him and comfort him, but doing that several times throughout the night gets exhausting. The snoo allows me to get more sleep so I can be a better and more alert mama during the day.

    At 4:54 you mentioned that you had a little cloth in the SNOO to help with your baby’s reflux issue. Our 3 week old has a similar issue but we didn’t think we could put down a cloth to catch any spit up since you’re not supposed to have anything in the bassinet with them. Is that only safe because they’re in the SNOO and can’t rollover? We’d love to not have to wash the sheet every day…

  • @amcdiva

    Curious where you got it for $800 and what coupons or codes (if any) you used- I don’t need the code just wondering if that’s how you got it down to $800

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  Před 4 lety +3

      You need to get on their email list and watch for a sale. I got mine at their new year sale, but I’ve seen them for 4th of July and Labor Day too. I’ve also seen them on Facebook marketplace for low prices which I highly suggest. Our snoo after 6 months looked brand new. There’s no where and tear on these things as the baby is strapped in and it’s not an item that gets moved around or scuffed up.

    Hi Your video is very helpful. I’m considering the snoo. Did you have it in your bedroom? Did the Noise bother you? Thanks

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  Před 5 lety +2

      P Sz hi! Yes, we keep it in our bedroom at the foot of our bed. The noise level can be changed but even at its highest it doesn’t bother us. It stays mostly encased in the snoo itself if that makes sense. It’s also a softer white noise compared to other white noise machines I’ve heard. I honestly don’t think you’ll regret purchasing the snoo. It has been godsend for us and I can’t imagine trying to get him I sleep at night without it.

    The major CON is they act like they for enviroment but they refuse to sell parts like motors that are known to fail, so if out of warranty from used or second baby and stops your out of luck
