That racket isn’t the newest Blade it’s a professional h22 racket which many pros like Kachanov and Tsitsipas use. You can tell that it’s a prostock racket because of its glossy colorway, the beam is shaped like on a h22 and the string pattern is way more open than on a normal blade.
Interesting... this looks alot more pro staff like then previous generations... Edit: After looking at more photos, the box beam of this and the string pattern are different. This looks more like a blade pro then the retail version.

Just the paint job from what I was told. I have the v8 pro and the racket feels nothing like retail v8 or v9 since I have hit with both of them. You’re reading off the info for the retail 16x19 blade 98 v9. It’s kinda strange that you aren’t able to feel the difference and just reading the review off a Wilson manual for the retail blade rather than telling us what it feels like and creating a video with the wrong info. The Blade pro feels nothing like the retail versions period. They have a lot more power, less forgiving since it’s smaller sweet spot and no vibration damp tech at all, slightly heavier, higher SW and a box beam frame.
I tested v9 16x19. Better torsion stability and finally it can produce a heavier ball than v8. Unfortunately they have filtered almost totally vibrations and feel has became a little bit muted…. still connected thought. I hear great things for Dunlop cx200 16x19 305 2024….. a total revamp they say.

Thanks for the review. I've played a few of the Blade predecessors...v4, v5, v7, v8. The blade v8 18x20 had not the stability of the v7. I hope this is noticeably better in the v9.

We received an early access blade which states 16x19 on the frame and received certain information. There would be no benefit whatsoever for representing the blade any other way. Its simply the information provided to us. If its wrong, we will certainly adjust it. Sometimes you receive rackets early and they are different than a final retail variation. Its not a big deal. Just trying to offer information early before final details are confirmed.

@@johnnydo1620that’s very subjective. At least with a retail frame you can demo it. The v9 frame in my opinion is better than the v8 when it comes to stability. It’s a nice frame and suggest you demoing one. The pro version frame has a heavier swing weight, smaller sweet spot and less forgiving. But if you are an advanced player this may suit you more as the sweet spot in my opinion is more plush in a different way. Most club players prefer not having the extra weight and may be quite tiring to wield. If you’re just a rec or club player I suggest the blade v9. It will also be easier on your arm and a much easier frame to use.
They are basically identical. You might have to choose based upon cosmetic or price, which is quite similar as well. For me personally, I thought the strike had more spin, but it was negligible. Any difference between those two rackets could be adjusted for with string intention as well. Maybe try them side-by-side and see which you personally like the most
I personally feel all upgrades have little change. I know a lot of people are going to comment that they can sense huge differences from gen to gen but I respectfully disagree. I often get a brand new racket, play it a ton, then get the same gen brand new racket a couple months later and notice a minor difference. I believe that minor difference is very similar to any gen to gen differences. This makes me believe the normal racket breakdown is what most people sense going to an update. You’ll just sense a fresh racket, new restring, etc. Specwise they are so similar
if this is the blade pro it is basically not even a blade but h22 mold different frame, material layup etc... than the retail blades and no changes to this pro labs ver. other than paint from v7,v8, v9 as far as I can tell.. I have the blade pro v8 looks identical other than the paint job. I also have the retail blades v7, re-issue V6 no countervail. V6's are good but lacking in control and weight for me this Pro model just plays so much better. more power, control, heftier swing weight more solid feel, good spin, soft flexy feel. You can really feel the ball on the strings with this racquet. Completely different racquet than retail blades. It requires good technique, foot work, full proper strokes to get the most out of it, which actually makes me correct my technique so I play better. Great racquet.

How would you compare this with the v9 (16x19)? What do you think you get from the pro compared to the regular version? Demoed the regular v9 and quite liked it (had to add a decent amount of weight to the butt) but overall felt pretty good.
Is the grip handle length longer than the previous gen, i couldnt stay with the blade v8 since i had a two handed backhand would run out of grip to hold

Great question! The blade is certainly designed for control. I found this version to be softer and was getting better response and hitting the sweet spot more often in my play test. Having said that, I felt that I was getting more power when I took bigger cuts because of hitting possibly a cleaner shot. So definitely a control racket, but the forgiving nature and stability provided more pop when I took generous swings.
@@FarTennis Typically skill level is only a small part of the answer. But the Pro series is exclusively for advanced tournament players i would confidently say it wouldn't be a good choice. What are you seeking? (power, control, spin, arm friendliness, color, price, etc) Let us know and we can suggest a good option for you.
@@SolowSports i see, i'm actually pretty familiar with blades. I did use the 100 v8 and changed to blade v6 non CV now. I really love the v6 since it really has more direct feel, more power, and more stability. I don't actually plan to change to v9 since it doesn't really give the same feeling as my v6. And about the blade pro, i'm actually just curious about how it plays since people are saying it is overally better than the retail version of blades. I have always wondered, if the the blade pro is far better than the retail ones. Why wouldn't they try to make the retails as close to the pro one as possible? In terms of mold, stability, string pattern, QC, paint, etc.
@@FarTennis The cost of production and quality control is higher on the Blade Pro. I would say its above the necessary need for most players. Thus the higher price point and exclusivity. If you demand a higher quality or look to customize you may consider the Blade Pro.
Its heavier than the Blade 98 and you should not use it unless you're good enough to walk onto at least Div 2 college team. Its ridiculous seeing weekend warrior walking around lead on their racquets and RF98's and then having 3.5 ground strokes. Its a recipe for lifelong tennis elbow while looking like a poser.

Correct. I find there is little difference from v8 to v9. And this is even more minimal in the wilson labs pro versions. These rackets are really technology plays so they don't change much if anything.
@@SolowSports yeah the pro ver is very comfortable solid and flexy. I string hybrid gosen OG micro sheep in the crosses solinco tour bite in the mains at 48 lbs. but crosses don't last long . also still soft with total poly setup 46-48 lbs

We mentioned that the pro v8 to v9 doesn’t play much different. Of the standard blade v8 to v9 was quite similar.

You can always add a leather grip to enhance the feel, but as I get older, I am liking more of the muted and comfort style rackets

Stability on the v7 came from the high swingweight (327 I believe). The swingweight of the v9 is 317 which seems close to the v8.

I just moved from Blade V8 to the new Aero 98. No regrets so far.
i agree!! your mind thinks regular Aero 100 but the Aero 98 is very different and plays phenomenal .
De Minaur uses a Steam 99 prostock
Sabelenka uses a Blade prostock, not blade pro
Tsitsipas uses a Blade BLX Prostock

Same weight of 305g unstrung, but we do agree of not going to heavy on rackets. This racket is best for physically strong and technically talented

This is a Wilson Blade Pro. Not the regular Blade. Glossy PJ, string density, and stiffness rating is 62 instead of 60.
