The Rose is a beautiful medium and such a chameleon in the fragrances that I have been exposed to.
Thank you for guiding and introducing us to many unknown fragrances… after your Perris visit, I purchased sample set and goodness fell in love with Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, I still love it and need the Patchoulli 😍 . This set really confirmed that Tuberose is my recoil nose burner, I just can’t, it truly feels like a burn on the inhale and icky taste in my throat. White florals are a definite nopers for me.
Two of my colleagues adored the Tuberose another tried Patchoulli on her skin, after a few hours the Patchoulli was so different on myself and colleague yet, still beautiful. The Tuberose even after the hours was still too astringent /burn-like .
That is the reason I am grateful as well, the constant learning and just because it doesn’t work on me it’s lush for others . I really love how it sits so differently on all of us.

Marcelo! Late day for me, but was able to at least listen to Mate talk while at work today. As always, appreciate the shout and looking forward to the Discord. And no, I didn't have a problem with the polls. That level of engagement is always welcome. As always, most of the fragrances you mention sound delectable! And no need to apologize about responding quickly if you're posting three segments per week. The 100k mark will arrive in the same fashion 81k did. Organically and at it's own pace.

I have a combination of fragrances on. I have on Odor 93, but I also have on new York from Fueguia 1833. New York provides the beautiful spicy essence I personally feel 93 could use to help amplify. Perhaps soften it enough to make it wearable for a young female. Both of these brands are exceptional. You have a great taste.
I'm yet to test our New York from Fueguia! I jumped on the website to have a look at this and it seems like a limited edition🤩 The notes look spectacular♥️

Hi Marcelo, hope you are doing well! I think Eight and Bob is very underrated niche house. Great that you are featuring their perfumes albeit, their new extratits. I enjoy their perfumes a lot. I have Eight and Bob "The Original" which has an awesome Ambergris note and "Cap D'Antibies" which is glorious as well.

In true Meo style Odor 93 is a dark brooding Tuberose....the florals have really been pared back in place of the more earthy (dirtier notes)....incredible journey on this fragrance 🖤

Legendary video Marcelo. As a man, i am a big fan of white florals. Odor93 is one of the best white florals non feminine fragrance out there, with xerjoff 400. Decas is great, but it lacks potency on my skin. Yet to try torino 23
If you're a fan of 400, may I suggest giving Serge Lutens - 'Fils de Joie' a try? As honeyed white florals go, it is exceptional (a good hit of ylang ylang in there too).

Avon makes a tuberose scented product called Skin-So-Soft that’s said to repel mosquitoes, even though Avon does not make that claim. It’s used widely by the outdoors community, and has even been used by the U.S. military. So tuberose is not strictly feminine and has been used by some of the toughest men (and women) on the planet.

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Again, Avon is always careful to refute the notion that Skin-So-Soft deters mosquitoes (e.g., malaria) or ticks (e.g., lime disease). Much like any critters (such as the notion that deer or rabbits are repelled by the smells of certain garden plants) if they’re hungry enough they won’t be deterred by anything. Still, Skin-So-Soft bath oil has something of a following among outdoors enthusiasts, and it’s been said that the military has placed some scattered orders although it’s not standard practice. I’ll sometimes ask an outdoors enthusiast about the rumor and their response is often to the effect of “Oh, yes!”
Being that you own both fragrances would you say that Spirit of Dubai Bahar is similar to Alexandria 2? I own Alexandria 2 and it’s the darling of my collection. Would it be redundant to purchase Bahar?

I relate to you so much on this episode. As a man, I am sure I am getting a few cringes among my near and dear ones when I say I love florals. But it is what it is! Your video got me to buy YY Nosy Be and god am I blown away by it. Torino 23 is on my wish list now

@realkornukopia Given that you mention Tabac Rose and Xerjoffs, I'll suggest a couple of things in a different vein (those being on the sweet side of things).
For a drier rose which still has plenty of presence, one that's a must try is Portrait of a Lady (do not be deceived by the gendered matketing here!). There is a big, bold rose in there, but also a lm earthy patchouli and dark incense which almost seem to combine into incense, smoky loam. The cloves are woody and spicy rarher than sweet. The sandalwood is also on the dry side. Not to everyone's taste, but a must try if you like rose, because if you _do_ dig it... If not, a couple of other rose-patchoulis worth a try are Profumum Roma 'Rosae Mundi' (this ia simple formulation, but incredibly rich, and the patchouli is stunning), as Marcelo's always saying 'Radical Rose' (not my thing, but it is good).
It's worth trying a few rose soliflores to figure out if you want one in your collection (I have several of different types). Ones that I can recommend from personal experience are Jovoy 'Rose Millesime', Serge Lutens 'La Fille de Berlin', Frederic Malle 'Une Rose'/'Rose Tonnere', Perris 'Rose de Taif Extrait'.
I win't recommend any particular rose-ouds as they come in so many different forms. Sample plenty and expect them to vary more than the notes suggest. You're almost bound to find one to your liking.
Also, I will always recommend trying Lyric Woman to anyone eho likes rose. The central floral accord is dense, and built iff rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, anf orris which are brought together so smoothly it must be criminal. A bold spicy incense opening, and a woody base. Definitely worth putting your nose on, if only for the floral artistry! 😮
