Ven always gets the most mediocre commentary. It always starts super dismissive then like "Oh wow, Ven actually makes Zelda work?" Then they always blame his wins on Ven's opponent not being good enough to deal with this very underrated character, then a rant about how annoying Zelda is as a character.
Ven is a pathfinder with Zelda! His neutral is oppressive, his gameplay is adaptive, and his poise under fire is just insane. Can we get some commentary actually showcasing what Ven is doing instead of just defaulting to "Ugh, Zelda's down B is so stupid."?

The last stock of game 3 was such brilliant option coverage and a perfect utilization of Zelda's space control. Idk why this is called "lame". Like, if Zelda was faster I'm sure she could play like Roy, but she has to utilize her tools. Commentators and spectators can be so annoying.
Honestly if u play around zeldas burst range, she actually can't do any sort of rush down and would have to retreat with knight. Baiting zelda to do burst options is really good and being in that range usually let's roy be able to run in and hit an aireal before zelda can create a useful phantom
Ikr? the commentary was totally biased. If Zelda was so (and I quote) "cringe" that you could easily win with her she'd be higher in every tier list. But everyone agrees that Roy is a better character. It is not that Zelda is "cringe" or "lame", Is just that Ven was the better player.
Yeah the commentators for this are annoying.

Hearing the commentators ask if Jyn needed to switch off Roy…wow. If you need to switch it this very favorable matchup then just top your cap to the better player. Roy is a nightmare for Zelda due to the speed, power, and disjoint.
The disjoint is whatever for Zelda since Roy's is short-ranged and some of her own disjoints can win out, and his power is also not too difficult to deal with since Roy is similarly killed really fast by Zelda as well.
Vs Roy, Zelda is definitely hurt by his speed. Unlike other speedy characters though, she actually isn't too bad at catching him on stuff but the main issue is Roy's speed lets him do a lot of damage during disadvantage.
I like the Roy matchup as Zelda because it feels like two versions of the Glass Cannon arch-type. Roy is the fast berserker version and Zelda is the strategic zoning version. In general Roy wins, but its definitely not a top tier MU I'm afraid of as Zelda.
Commentators when they like the character: "Yeah so Roy is Roy, so that means Roy Roy Roy, and some Roy and you'll probably be Roy or Roy. Roy?"
Commentators when they don't like the character: .................Zelda is dumb.........

Jxn isnt bad with roy but he was kinda mashing when things didnt work out. Like more than normal. Which is exactly what zelda wants at least on ledge since then u are pretty much guaranteed to get hit by phantom. Jxn needs to adapt better tho he won the first game since ven was also kind of mashing but he adapted way faster than jxn

how? 😭 she’s slow, starting frames are high and ends with quite huge end lag, her moves are mostly sweet spots, her only good range move is phantom, she’s floaty, easy to kill and combo food, her grabs are slow, linear gameplay and hit box, time her out and she ran out of option

@@Jess-qs3gqyou’re right she isn’t good, but the best thing she can do is keep up pressure at any distance with dinn’s fire. I really enjoy using her. Her edge guarding is top tier.
