i had the pleasure of flying concorde LHR-JFK in the 90s. Thrilling. Fast. Not entirely comfy. Like flying inside a really fast pencil. Very little headroom and I'm short. But I remember the car alarms going off and you could hear them. I remember how quiet it was in the cabin after they shut off the after burners. I remember breaking the sound barrier. I remember being invited into the flight deck at cruising altitude and speed. I remember the food and service were absolutely impeccable. It is truly a shame that this lovely bird flies no more but I have pictures and memories to last me the rest of my life!
Lived on Chaucer Avenue at the emd of the runway and can say the noise was not nice, the whole house shook and you meeded to cover your ears even with the windows shut!
true but still disappointing and if you are interested you can check out some war plane videos on my page. do you think war planes are as loud as the concorde?
I once saw this beautiful bird soaring into the sky. The sight and sound was simply heart stopping and gut punching. I just stood there in awe. I would have given anything to have been a passenger on Concorde.
Maria.. Many normal people will like to ✈️fly with Concorde again ,but in today 🌎world not possible ..🙄🙄. Climate. Change fanatics with they're regulations will keep the airplane grounded.. 😒😒
My neighbour flew with it. He told me that he never ever experienced something like that before. He told me that it was really really noisy, and when they landed in NYC, he was kinda glad that he got off that plane. Plus it was tight. Food was excellent. Fucking Bourgoise.
Spectacular! Unfortunately is like seeing the future flying by.. something as awesome as this will not return to the skies anytime soon again.. if ever. What an amazing bird!
Theres actually a group of people here in the UK called The Concorde Preservation Group, and they plan to get a Concorde flying again by 2019.They have over $120,000,000 to do this, so its definitely a possibility. Lets hope.
Loudest thing I’ve ever heard was the takeoff of a Rockwell B-1B Lancer from an air show, it was at its maximum takeoff weight as it was brimmed with fuel for a long flight back to its home, and in order to get off the ground they locked the brakes and took the engines to full afterburner and held it for a few seconds before releasing the brakes. They managed to do an unrestricted, full afterburner spiral climb to 15,000 feet and even at that altitude it was still very audible over the din of the air show. Set off almost every car alarm in the parking lot.
I live 10 mins from Heathrow and saw her every day. Every day was as exciting as the last. I never, ever got tired of hearing those amazing engines and watching this beautiful bird fly off into the distance. It was literally awesome! 😍
To fly on her is really something but to even gaze up and see her take off is a real privilege. Thanks for the videos for us who never had that privilege. Beautiful!
I saw this myself one time at Manchester where you can get much closer and theres none of the background lights of the city because the viewing compounds amongst trees and grassland. The whole world just lit up, it was amazing.
i remember standing on hounslow heath golf course as a kid, when the concorde too off people used to hit the deck as it was less than 2 miles from the airport and the ground used to shake and it was the loudest thunder you ever heard, deafening!
Glad you liked it. With hindsight, I should have recorded more. Back then we thought it would fly for another 25 years. Don't know you have until its gone 😭
Thanks.. You are right... It was uploaded very long ago. I forgot my password so I can not change the title. At that time CZcams was new and it was the loudest noise I heard on it. I have some more footage which I need to load 😊 glad you enjoyed it.
I lived and worked at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. This reminds me of the countless dusks that the B-1 bomber would scream roaring past in full afterburner. Every time I’d run outside to watch them! Great stuff.
A lot of these wonderful darkness clips were take in in Autumn 2003 when the enthusiasts already knew that Concorde flight were coming to an end. This was the BA003 evening flight to JFK.
We were in the car on the M25 travelling down to Surrey and concorde went right over us - never forget the sheer power and noise - it felt like the whole car was shaking - what an experience!
i think i how watched all the concorde videos on youtube.this one without doudt has the best quality of sound, almost like you were there..great video..superb sound.good on ya dkatwa....
Maravilha da aviação, é triste que estamos a quase 20 anos sem um ÚNICO avião supersônico comercial, apenas propostas. Esse vídeo provavelmente foi gravado no último ano do Concorde, 2003, afinal a câmera já é digital pela imagem.
Ah cos i drive my lorry down the stamwell moor road everyday to go to Iver and i notice that all the plains use 27l to take off but they normally come over the top of me(depending on the wind i suppose!). Mind you the past couple of days they have been useing 27r for taking off and 27l for landing.
The afterburners on Concorde's when they took off at night makes current airliners look like pigeons.

You are very lucky.. One in a million 😁 thanks for sharing
this got me hard as fuck, bro
So lucky, can't say I'm not jealous lol
This used to fly over our house in south London. I loved it and always went outside to marvel at its magnificence.
You are so lucky..the sound was 75% of the experience....modern planes just don't match up...

Same it would fly over my house in Catford. I miss that Bad boy 💯❤🙌🏾
you re lucky to feel it
@@kylekeenan3485 Yes, too close.
For such a pretty plane, she is quite the bad-ass. Love the roar and crackle of her engines. It's music to my ears.

Sexy, slender, beautiful with the roar of a thousand lions.
One could say she's both a Beauty AND a Beast.
All the best girls have a bit of mischief hidden away...
it is a fuckin disgrace that this thing is grounded
+guguigugu so true and they keep flying f18s and f22s and say fuel effiency is a problem
+anthony lambing but those are war planes, there's always enough money for wars -.-
true but still disappointing and if you are interested you can check out some war plane videos on my page. do you think war planes are as loud as the concorde?
Think of the nature it used the same amount of gas as a car does in six ours when driving to the run way
Beaver Beats it actually used A LOT more than that. not even gonna tell you how much, since you find it so problematic.

Same here. I saw one parked at the terminal at Love Field in Dallas years ago. Looked quite small compared to the DS10s and L1011's parked nearby.

I remember the day when they were grounded. We watched 5 of them come into Heathrow one after the other.
It was silly to ground them. Wasn't the planes fault it crashed
I always remember as a kid knowing when a Concorde was flying overhead, even at high altitude, as they were amazingly loud :)
F35's from a nearby Air Force base fly over my house now. Sweet sound.
looks like a damn spaceship

True.. And the horn from the lorry 😂

Definitely not lol.
because it’s closer to camera man. if concorde was flying over i bet it would overwhelm the siren sound
Somehow this little shaky video captured how awesome it was better than any other ones I've seen.
I wish I could have seen her in real life.
In fact, I have a few other videos that I need to upload. The best ones I have seen are the Oskosh and Lisbon SSC videos on Yt. Enjoy 😁

Thumbs up if you came to see the after burners coming out of those 4 rolls Royce re heated Olympus turbojet engines at night

This video is exactly 17 years old today! I miss these planes
Those after burners were amazing! :D
And to think they build that beautiful bird at a time where cars still had fins and chrome trimming.
This thing looks so cool
An amazing plane. I wish I could see and hear that sound with my own ears. 🥲
Yep. That always cleared my sinuses 🤣
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be....
i LOVE the sound that the afterburners give
and the big bright hot combustion flames
shooting out of the afterburners
So sad. She deserves to still be in the air
Sooo beautiful!! Great video!
I’m watching a Concorde documentary on tv whilst watching a Concorde video on my phone , unbelievable
Every car alarm in London going off!

What an amazing feat of engineering!

I wish I could flex on friends by going back in time and recording myself flying on it.
