- “You know, that “reconciliation word” has been thrown around, and maybe it’s just because I don’t pay attention sometimes, but I started thinking ‘what is that?’ And yesterday, I finally got it. That felt like reconciliation.” Our journey participant Tiio Horn was born and raised in Kahnwake, Quebec, and generously shared her story, and the story of her community, with her fellow Canada C3 participants. Thank you, Tiio.
“On utilise souvent le mot réconciliation, et peut-être c’est parce que ne porte pas trop attention, mais dans les dernières années je l’ai souvent entendu, et j'ai commencé à me demander - c’est quoi ça? Et là hier, j’ai tout compris. J’ai vraiment ressenti c’était quoi la réconciliation.” Tiio Horn, participante à l’étape 2, provient de la communauté de Kahnawake, au Québec. Elle nous présente généreusement son histoire, ainsi que l’histoire de sa communauté. Merci Tiio.
Nice to have these little vignettes of the journey!
My friends family lives on the reserve. I had the pleasure of being able to visit at 17 I’m now 37. I can still remember swimming in the quarry
Stanley Greeley the quarry’s bang
That’s my auntie

She looks really white and Not indian at all!!. Your subtitles how ? Through marriage?
Auntie Tannis!
Bruh I saw at the start I live down the road not where the red house the other on and my mom says my cousin is in this video
She is white.
She probably more native than you
So are my nuts, I don’t see your mama rejecting them.
Most definitely is white for sure. No features of native at all😮..real white skin indian😮
Why is this white girl the representative of Kahnawake? I thought they evicted all the non-indians out of Kahnawake for the crime of having the wrong skin colour?
Bob Loblaw she’s my auntie wtf is your problem
Oh yeah and did I forget to mention that she’s Instagram verified and also my cousin and very nice, caring, beautiful and strong woman. She’s proud of her heritage and knows her history. So learn a little more than you can talk
Thats the problem right here, they want us to respect them but we can’t even live in their city. I completely understand that they want to preserve their culture but quebecois wants to preserves their culture too! Imagine if we kicked out all the non white francophones people. And im only talking about kahnawake, not other city.
@@goofytuber9011 first of it Kahnawake isn't a city it's a reserve. indigenous people north and south died of disease, and were killed by Europeans through slavery, rape, and war. In 1491, about 145 million people lived in the western hemisphere. By 1691, the population of indigenous Americans had declined by 90-95 percent, or by around 130 million people. Wtf do you mean save your heritage our people have died out so much there's practically none left and your talking about saving your heritage white people have not lost ANY heritage you people have not gone through any pain don't act like your are poor and need to be saving your heritage.
We didn't evict people because of their skin color that would be terrible, I have a pretty light skin color I still live here, we evicted non natives to preserve the Mohawk heritage.
