  • This week I challenged myself to journal in Italian every morning for 5 days in a row. This is a great way to get writing practice in the language you're learning and I learned a lot of new vocabulary words along the way! If you're looking for a language learning challenge, this is a simple and easy challenge to try. Grab a language-learning journal, watch the video to follow along with my prompts and get writing!
    If you want to join me on Vibely for more weekly challenges, join the community here: app.vibely.io/sheasproductivi...
    ✍️ Journaling Prompts ✍️(Keep in mind I'm at a B1 level so some of these might be difficult for beginners)
    Day 1: Write about what you did this weekend.
    Day 2: Write about what you have to do today/this week.
    Day 3: Write about your future goals (big or small!) and your "dream" life.
    Day 4: Reflect on all the positive things in your life and write a gratitude journal entry.
    Day 5: Focus on self-love. Write about what you love most about yourself and really dive in and compliment yourself.

    Great idea
    BTW if you are not a person who usually write a journal, and you start doing this for language learning reasons, you'll find how much value you're getting from doing that, not just language learning benefits

    I think writing in another language can also help us THINKING in that language.

    Great challenge, journaling is a very effective way to improve a foreign language.
    I would also suggest writing a page dedicated to your personal opinion about a movie you've watched or the book you are reading. 📗

    This video is great, I like the points you bring up about how it doesn’t have to be an essay or well structured. German grammar is pretty difficult so I find myself avoiding writing sometimes because I assume I’ll make a lot of mistakes... I just have to come around to remind myself that it is part of learning to make those mistakes!
    One critique, though, is that the prompts in this challenge will likely be pretty difficult for beginners who haven’t studied different tenses yet. I separate my prompts into 3 different levels, which I have for free on my channel.
    I just think it’s important to offer people a good way to ease into it, because I can’t really express myself in future tenses well in German yet, so I’d be overwhelmed by some of the content of your challenge, personally.

    • @SheaJordan
      @SheaJordan  Před 3 lety +4

      Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I'm sure beginners would struggle with some of the later prompts, that's why I didn't write "for beginners" and my viewers who have been following me know I'm at about a B1 level. I try to create content for all levels and maybe beginners can just practice writing what they're doing every day. This video is for inspiration and hopefully, beginners can just use it as inspiration to start writing in the language they're learning 😊

      @benedettacipriano4705 Před 3 lety +2

      You should listen to Jovanotti! If you like soft music/ acoustic you should listen Gazelle, or maybe Cesare Cremonini. If you’re more into rap or trap (however I do not suggest it for people that are at a starting level) you can listen to Salmo or maybe Marrakech. Jovanotti is still my favorite anyway ahaha He has a huge repertory , you can find both soft music (you should listen to “A te” which is literally poetry, and “Al chiaro di Luna”, “Come Musica”, “Bella”...)rap, or even more “energetic music” . There is even “The Giornalisti”. It’s a band , their music is mainly romantic, and easy to understand. If you need other suggestions let me know :)

    Can i look up whole sentences at a time or is that cheating?

    • @SheaJordan
      @SheaJordan  Před 2 lety +1

      I think Reverso context is actually a better program if you need translations. I would not put the whole sentence in to translate, try to look up words you don't know and do your best to piece them together yourself! Just remember to study those words so you don't have to repeatedly look them up in the future. :)
