- Yasmeen Ghauri was one of the best supermodel on the runway in the early 90s. She's fierce with an exotic beauty. I felt she was underrated and didn't get as much recognition as some of the other supermodels. I felt her, Naomi Campbell, and another underrated supermodel Claudia Mason had the best walks during their era.

She was THE BLACK PHANTER on the runway. The most famous and booked model of the early 90s, but she decided to disappear and pursue her education. An incredibly intelligent and private woman. It was her choice to disappear, but will be remembered by those who truly know their runway history as the most legendary cat walker.
It's called being classy. I agree, very humble and private. Such a noble quality. Ugh compared to the garish slutty models of today e.g Tyra Banks (well not so long ago), Kendal etc

Yasmeen was as close to perfection as a woman can get, her body was out of this world, gorgeous face, beautiful personality and she was intelligent. Not to mention that Walk, wow!

Yasmeen didn't like to the PR, self-promote part of the business, but at the time she was in the same league. Check out the Vogue supermodel cover from 91 I think it is - Yasmeen"s there with Linda, Cindy, Christy and Naomi. Yasmeen's career was short (her choice) but huge.
yes according to one of her interview once she retire modelling she would rather live a private life despite her modeling career she grow up in a muslim conservative household and basically she rarely do interview after during her off work in modelling she doesnt even party or rub elbow or do media glitz according to her claims when she work as a model.... but yes shes one of the top 5 highest paid model on her time

Dioioego She is Pakistani but before mentioned India because her father was born before the partition. It gets confusing. All 3 countries in the sub continent are all young and are basically artificial borders by the British. It was easier for her just to say India, no one knew Pakistan as it was India to East Pakistan to Islamic republic of Pakistan. Plus honour killing has got nothing to do with Islam it’s all about culture especially as it’s really common in south Asian culture. It’s even common in hindus in India.

I believe she sometimes didn't get her due recognition because of her Pakistani background; she was perceived as being 'unfamiliar' while if you were either gung ho white or gung ho black, you were of the 'familiar'. Despite these odds, she made a name for herself and rose to the top.
