In today's video I set myself a £50 budget to spend at my local charity shops and managed to get an approximate £900 retail value worth of clothes/items for under £45.

I work in a charity shop, we only put out spotless clothes ,and many are new , donated by shops and stores or samples , the scruffy charity shops are usually just short of volunteers to do what needs to be done , , To anyone who says they could not wearsomething that has been worn by someone else , I remind them of all the well used hotel sheets they have slept on and towels that dried a thousand bodies , that shuts them up ,

Nothing can beat that first item, 3£ for a Tory Burch jacket😮
I found an Eileen Fisher merino wool deconstructed jacket in a thrift on the regular rack, not the “boutique” rack where they put higher quality items and price them accordingly. It was $3. On the boutique rack it would’ve been $10-12. Even then, online, I found it for $250. At the cashier, the woman looked at the sticker which was white versus the boutique pink, and said, well you got a deal as our stock person obviously doesn’t know Eileen Fisher! I said, bonus! She smiled!
I’ve often found high end items, crystal or porcelain not just clothes, at thrifts and church sales at lower prices than something from Wally World! I love benefiting from someone’s lack of knowledge, though I oftentimes round up say a $16 sale to $20 for them to keep the difference if it’s a church thrift shoppe or a church sale. If it’s going towards something worthwhile, I always round up. Especially library’s used book sales when the proceeds go to children’s reading programs as it’s something dear to me.

You bought some amazing second hand clothes which fitted you perfectly, even your mums jacket looked good. I’m always looking in charity shops but never find the sort of items/labels you bought. You obviously shop in the right places. Well done. I will keep looking 😊

The amount of money I’ve saved by charity shopping for everything I can on gorgeous items for me, my husband and my daughter and for the home over 35+ years runs by now into tens of thousands of pounds! Even just one pair of large lead crystal table lamps (that I originally saw in a beautiful store in Bath) I saved nearly £1,000! A solid dining table and chairs I saved approx. £3-4,000. Even for a simple M&S top you’ll save £20-30! It’s crazy! 💚🧡

A friend of a friend got married at the weekend and they had a ‘sustainable’ wedding, I.e. all the outfits were from charity shops or bought 2nd hand online. I’ve seen a few photos and they all looked incredible 💒 👰 🤵♂️ ❤.

Love your videos. I’m a massive charity shop shopper. There’s nothing like the feeling you get when you spot an absolute bargain. I nearly always try charity shops first if I’m looking for something in particular. I always seem to find what I’m looking for but sometimes you do need patience 😀 x

I found a pair of hardly worn... DUO black knee high leather boots for $25 ...in a charity shop. Looked them up online and they were on special for about $400. So pleased with that 😀

Monica I found a lovely light cotton shirtwaist dress by LK Bennett in a charity shop in Harrogate last week, still had tags on for £325.00 but cost me £44. Consider that a bargain 😉!

The lilac blazer and the Tory Birch cropped jacket were my faves. I’m really into jackets right now and just bought 2 secondhand - a wool plaid blazer and a cotton tapestry cropped cotton jacket. I was in a thrift and find a Diane Von Furstenberg tweed cropped jacket for $5. Yes, I got it and it fit me perfectly. 🥰 I have found some wonderful items thrifting. You have to spend time looking.

I got a beautiful phase eight slub satin suit, for £15! worn once for a wedding I was told. There's a local label in Harrogate who makes the most fantastic clothes, her suits are around £500, I paid £4.99 for one of her suits a skirt & coat, the detail on the coat is amazing, I wear with jeans & trousers, again obviously worn once for a special occasion.

Wow...what bargains you have there, Charity Shops are definitely worth investigating! Love the 1st jacket and Mum's jacket too...sure she'll like it. My favourite was the lilac blazer...beautifully cut and looked so smart styled with black. Even the Loungewear etc were great finds! Love your videos and appreciate styling tips. I shop in charity shops but I have never found bargains like you. I need to shop where you go. Don't gete wrong I have had some nice things but have never managed to find designer outfits.

I find charity shops very hit and miss some try and charge £5 for second hand Primark others are really good I got a fabulous Jaeger winter coat for £3 last week. I always think that if I donate new and nearly new stuff other people must do too and what’s the harm in looking.

I am an older person, over 60 now and no longer work. My lifestyle is very, very casual and although your clothes you found are lovely, mostly would be too dressy for me. I don't even go out at night anymore, but get together sometimes with a friend to have lunch at non-fancy restaurant or cafe.
So...do you know of any videos for the over 60 ladies to watch? We rarely buy new clothes and look for 2nd hand very inexpensive casual clothes.
I'm not great at looking up on CZcams to search for this, so if you know of any videos for older ladies to find charity shop clothes, I would appreciate it. My friend and I are in our mid and late 60's. Looking for videos by women in our age group showing what they bought at charity shops. NOT NEW clothes. I did see a few ladies in UK, CZcams and I think they were over 50 but they just showed new clothes they bought and looked like they were quite wealthy, living in a beautiful home. My friend and I both rent in tiny flats and not much money. Thank you.

I love your videos & thrift finds, could you do a video on how to shop preloved for different body shapes, I'm an apple shape🍎
I’m not your shape, but I think charity shopping itself has helped me identify what suits my shape. If I like the fabric quality and colour and it looks like it might fit (size labels are only a loose guide at best), I try it on. Lots of experimentation, trial and error (and patience) have helped me narrow down which silhouettes are likely to be flattering on me and which will not. Just go and play. Try on classics and wild things, and keep an open mind. Oh, and I’m not afraid to ask the shop staff or nearby customers for second opinions.

Having a very low budget, i have shopped in charity shops for decades. My daughter is now 22.
When it was time for her prom she wanted a sexy black sparkly dress. We looked around the expensive shops ,luckily she just couldn't find anything. I told her don't worry we will look in the charity shops. The right dress will speak to you. Imagine going into barnardos thinking there was a black dress only to find a black top in the dresses. Spotted what could only be a ball gown white top and purple skirt. So beautiful, fully corseted. I left the shop, and my daughter wandered what i looked at. I told her it was not black. I took her in.the minute i showed her the dress. That was it, a mirror had to be found. She swished that dress left and wright. All i got was "mum, it wants to come home with me It wants me". I told her its not black steph, to see the reaction. But she kept saying it spoke to her . My son lent me the £10 for the dress. Got it cleaned for £30. On her prom all the girls went in sexy tight fitting dresses. When she arrived all the teachers came over to her and told her she looked like a princess. She stood out from the crowd. Best thing i ever bought her. We regularly take a look in the charity shop. Recently she bouĝt me a gift as part of my birthday present. It was a small Radley bag with dust cover for £10. I cant wait for my day, she bought me a top to match the colours in the bag. From a different charity shop. Brilliant.
