It really reminds me of a Solar interpretation of the Kelly Rhoads, that existed a while back and that I really like; the X also really lets me wish for a asymmetrical V, Rhoads style...

I believe he’s saying they aren’t bad price wise compared to ESP or Gibson, which they aren’t. Their prices will depend on level (series 1 or 2) and their options (evertune, Floyd’s, etc) but in general they’re on the more affordable side comparable to 1000 series LTDs and stuff like that.
Man i love that style . I have an old Westone Dimension guitar from the 80's that is very similar . Of course they weren't the greatest playing guitars but i customed mine out with a new neck and trem , Check out the Westone if you get a chance . Looks wise they are very similar to the type X

I used to have a Kelly Star by Jackson Stars (Jackson Guitars 2000-2001 model), and this reminds me of those quality X shaped guitars.
I 100% support a two type series, and a TOM or some kind of a fixed bridge for the type 1 would be fantastic!
One of my personal favorites to see is a matte black body/HS with a maple fretboard!
Another one would be a flat top for the body with the famous vintage color combination:
creme bindings and classic brown sunburst, with gold hardware
I think the X slays and I told Ola as much. I really hope they come out with some Canibalismo finishes. I would love to see a yellow and black one. Kinda like Eddie's Bumblebee guitar. I still haven't bought a solar but this might get me to pull the trigger. Still eying that AB in electric blue with the roasted maple neck. I guess I'll have to get two.
My man, greetings from eastern Canada I bought the AB 1.6S Silver from the black sabbath sale missed out on $100 USD by buying it before it was the deal of the day. Oh well, Pull the trigger, I was skeptical about them, they had bad reviews. But I wanted to try one and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Just as good as any $2000 guitar I own. I only put it down when I need a Floyd. I’m already planning another purchase in the very near future.

NOTE: I've just seen there's a difference between the 2 Type X:
The Green one has bevels for arm contour with solid color, and the Red one has a flat top with a maple flame veneer.
It radically changes the look and the shape of the guitar. These are still "sample guitar" I think.
I’ll probably get a 6 string version but if there’s a 7 string I’m all over this. I had a WR7 with the gray finish and I liked it a lot but there were no bevels and it drove me insane, sticking into my abdomen and kind of ruined what is otherwise the most comfortable and balanced guitar shape I’ve ever played. This looks beveled really well and I’m sure it shreds just as well as the WR7. Sold.
I personally like Gus G's X (or star) guitar but Solar thriving in any way warms my heart so I hope the people will love it. Good points made brotha

i really love the guitar, i see how the guitar has the dimebag washburn feel but to me it gives me a sort of warrior with a stealth mix if that makes sense. Regardless its beautiful and if they provide a 7 string verion like the wr7s i will fold so fast!

@@Schmacks I saw. Hopefully the regular production models come out soon. The $4000 ones are the made in Europe ones. I have mad respect for ola but personally I'm not paying $4000 for a guitar.

Hey man, Ola was responding to my question on the FAQ about the type X, and I believe it was 100% intentionally there for that answer because it changed back to a dime hanging there after so I think he was just giving us a tease intentionally since he was answering my question about it.

I’m stoked for the X and would love to get one (as well as a V as I’ve been dying to get one for years). But I personally think that the X being the new flagship is a stretch. I prefer extreme shapes through and through over “normal” shapes but I believe in this day on metal they’re a niche thing. Even other companies that are arguably metal with their extreme shapes push the traditional shapes more a la Jackson or Dean (I agree with you they should push the ML more but I don’t think sales are there). Even a company like Solar with their Type V and Type E, they still release more A’s and S’s. I think the Type X is definitely needed and highly desired. But most people gravitate towards the “normal” so I think the A’s and S’s will still reign supreme. I would like to be wrong on that though.

Im glad to hear that Solar are making a Y guitar, I know someone on the design team at Solar and a Y guitar is in the final stage of development...what ever that means.
In addition it is SOLARS intention to make numerous guitars based on the letters of the alphabet
I mean it's pointy as hell, it's Solar's equivalent to the ML and a Ironbird at the same time. I'm literally going to buy this instead of the Solar V if they release a hard tail guitar (Not evertune).

Man this is gonna be an expensive year already, and it hasn't even started yet. For sure grabbing this new type X Solar and also for sure grabbing McRocklin's new all inclusive plug in that's about to drop soon, man I can't wait for either... lol.
Dang I would buy that guitar and place a dimebucker pickup on that thing or if they place a Sustainiac pickup would be sick. I have been wanting something crazy and unique. I hope one day they will put the lightning graphic.

That is his take on a ML, we all know how big of a Dime fan he is, so it makes sense
I agree X very well could be signature flag ship model. Considering one of the few guitar shapes not made by every company like a Les Paul shape. I just hope there's a model without a Floyd Rose and humbuckers please 😀!

My biggest issue with most of his guitars are the huge bevels them, the one on the wall does not look like it's as beveled, but maybe that's an optical illusion? The bevels, to me, just make it look so much thicker. Very much the same as the EX model as well. Not knocking Ola, it's just a personal preference thing.
100% agree. It makes the v look really tiny.

I think it will sell really well but I don't think that it will become the new flagship. The guitar shape is too extreme. Flagship will still be the A and S type.
What I personally don't like about the guitar is the placement of the output jack on the lower wing. I hope the green X is still a prototype and Ola did some tweaking and put the output jack on the upper wing.
Anyone thought if it's like a Washburn Stealth and Ibanez Xiphos had a baby? I thought so.
I was waiting for this type X to come. But I think the body looks too "small" and so tiny in comparaison with the headstock. I would have imagine the guitar a little more bigger and more "consequent".
But we have to wait and see in person what it returns.

Sick of the flat paints. Make the guitars look and feel like cheap guitars. Me e type feels aweful.deadens the resonance quite a bit. This green is meh
