Don'tEvenThink There’s a big difference between those who voiced them for the animated films and those who perform in the live action. The OP is saying they should be casting more broadway performers for the live action, not people who can barely hold a tune. Not going to name any names but there have been questionable choices in these last few live action movies. But they only care about the names and faces, not the performance. I don’t think they realize people will see the movie despite who is in it because it’s Disney, it’s childhood, and it’s live action. The names help though. Aladdin did it best, for sure. I’m still trying to erase all of Beauty and The Beast and some of The Lion King from my memory 🥴 Come on, Disney!! BROADWAY ACTORS FOR LIVE ACTION MOVIES, PLEASE.

I had the amazing opportunity to meet Kevin Massey (who played Tarzan in Germany), Kara Lindsay (Katherine in NEWSIES), Tom Strickland (Original Broadway Tarzan), and Adam Jacobs (Original Broadway Aladdin) when they performed at EPCOT for the Disney on Broadway Concert Series during EPCOT Festival of the Arts and they are so kind and amazingly talented!!!!!
Disney songs really hit different when sung by theatre actors compared to pop singers. Haha

Disney's broadway production of Tarzan is SO underrated. Well, the film as a whole, really, but especially the stage production. Seeing Josh and Merle singing together after all these years gave me chills. Can we PLEASE get a revival? (Or a live-action remake, featuring at least these two, if not more original bway cast members, in the film/on the soundtrack?)

I have seen some pretty amazing shows over the years, but Tarzan has ALWAYS been listed in my top 2 favorites. Everyone looks at me funny when I say that, but it was just so damn good!
Look at how involved Phil Collins was in the music part of both. That had a lot to do with how well the music was done. He wrote 5 songs in the movie then 9 more for stage version. For the movie he sang in foreign languages, not a lot of people would be willing to do that. Yet they're people who still argue that he didn't deserve the Oscar that year and it should of gone to Trey Parker and Matt Stone for South Park

Both did great but for the type of songs Disney has its much better to have experienced Broadway singers. Pop singers are great but they're trained to sing pop. They often fall behind with the fullness and support they need. The only ones I enjoyed were Christina and Demi out of the pop artists tbh
