I was impressed by Michael’s innate musicality when he was listening to Barry’s vocals. A tremendous amount of respect between the 2 of them.
From listening to the words of this song it sounds like they are two God fearing men. I love this. I am so glad they got together and wrote it. Beautiful!
They were life long real friends. Michael was the Godfather of Barry's son Michael.
MJ is Godfather for Barry’s son, Michael Gibb. Barry’s daughter, Alexandria, videoed the recording at Barry’s home studio. Barry and Michael were very close friends. In multiple interviews Barry stands up for Michael and shuts people down. A very early interview done by a German television program has the host making fun of Michael. It was the same show where the BeeGees sang “You win again.” BeeGees and the host were talking about top 10 songs that were hits. The host mentioned “Wacko Jacko” referring to Michael Jackson. Barry politely and with authority shut the host down who backtracked pitifully. There is another interview where Barry talks about Michael coming and staying at his house and watching the news about fans going crazy around a hotel thinking that he was in the hotel. Michael was actually at Barry’s home. It was a safe place to go where he could just relax and not be a superstar. He also went to a school play for Barry’s child. To hear Barry talk about it is very comical! The reaction of the children when they saw Michael is hilarious! Michael would also show up at Robin’s house as well. He needed a place where he could just be his normal self and not what the public expected of him.
There is a lot of opinion out there. There are a lot of people who think they know everything about all of these stars. I often wondered why Barry and Robin (Maurice had already passed) were not at Michael’s funeral. But I realized that they were true friends. They weren’t there for the pomp and circumstance. They didn’t want to be a part of the circus. They mourned him as their friend. They didn’t boast about being his friend. They just were.

@@paulakivelehan.beegeesme4076 yes, she was young. It was a private home video and wasn’t necessarily meant to be professional. Barry released it and other clips with it after MJ passed. He mentioned in an interview that his daughter was videotaping. I have no clue which interview that one was…..I have seen so many. My guess she was standing by hitting the record button? There are a few more pieces that are not in this reproduction of it. I saw them. Michael even laughs at the microphone. This one doesn’t show it. It was a couple of years ago when I saw it. It has been “copied” so many times with pieces left out.

MJ lived with Barry & family for a while. B said that in the end he had to ask M to leave, politely of course. Barry said that he was twelve years older than MJ and had to get up early in the mornings to take his kids to school. Couldn't take the late nights I suppose. From interviews I have watched there is no mention of Michael actually living with Barry. He did stay at their individual houses multiple times and visited according to both Barry and Robin.
@@RK-gg4dd Barry actually did say In an interview that MJ did infact live with him and his family but did have to ask him to leave because of the late nights. Barry's family always came first to him.

From the interview that I saw Barry said that Michael stayed and visited with them for a couple of weeks, not the he actually “lived” with them.
Ironically, this song is telling the story of the spiritual journey that my soulmate and l are on at this time.
My journey started in 2009 after M'J'S assencion to paradise,l cried for six month's everytime l heard one of his songs playing on the radio,l couldn't figure out why so l did a deep investigation on his life,what he was all about, and to my surprise l found him to be an Angel on Earth. A spiritual man thus my spiritual journey began.
I give him the credit and believe that he is one of my spiritual guides.
The first time l heard this song (about five years ago)again l cried and cried,didn't know why, l told myself that l just miss him.
But now l know the real reason.
I would be living what he sings about in this song.
I'm following my dream for my soulmate and l to accomplish our soul mission.

Wasn't released official. Why? Rumours are sayin', due to problems with Michaels management, not himself! They didn't offer Barry, to make a fifty/fifty for incomes. So Barry said, "but I don't need your money, having enough by myself. Most of the song was written by him and so he held it back but given it free to the community, as ten years of waiting period were gone. Michael always said that he's a big Bee Gees fan. Also, that his album 'Thriller' would not have been the same, without their influance. He often visited Miami, checked in to hotels, but stayed by Barry. And yes, they were really close friends, but Michael was more in search of a sub-father, so he felt like never knew a real one at all. In the end, Barry said to him that he is welcome, but it would be better for him to know, when to come and when to go. The song itself, I think, for sure would have dominated all charts on earth.
If you're right and MJ was looking for a sub-dad, he couldn't have picked a better one than Barry.

But Chad, there is a way to slip Michael Jackson in one of your Bee Gees marathons. 😉 This believe, it or not, is not the first time they collaborated on a song. There is a song called 'Eaten Alive' on the album that the Bee Gees wrote for Dianna Ross. Both Barry and Michael did the backing vocals on this particular track. So Since it's a Bee Gees project, and Barry has done the background vocals, you could probably get away with it. Maybe someone has requested this song before, but if not... I really wanted to like this. I'm trying. So, it was probably written sometime in 2002. Never released on an album. Then in 2011 Barry (or his people) put clips on his website and released it for download. Seems like it was a demo. It feels unfinished. Barry's voice is suited for the melody. He did this with a nice gospel quality. MJ...not sure. I'm thinking he was trying to add emotive outbursts to Barry's melody. Some worked, some didn't. But then I tell myself, it was demo. The lyrics are quite beautiful. This could have been wonderful.
It was wonderful stop with the nonsense MJ vocals are unmatched Barry’s were fine but I feel MJ just outshined him Respectfully!
