Well, the Christy's bowler is the epitome of what the bowler should. be. It is interesting to note that in its origins the bowler was a working man's hat. Designed for the game wardens and grounds keepers on a rich man's estate. They wore top hats as part of their uniforms and their hats kept get damaged by tree limbs as they patrolled the estate on horseback.
I like it but I still haven't gone "full-bowler" yet. I will say that red lining looks delicious, but it needs a cool hatband, still deciding. Maybe a Clockwork Orange homage? I have a close one though, in my Homburg that I put a studded metal hatband on, and it looks to me like a Western era "townee"/Doc Holliday hat. I like it as a formalish western-style hat for Fall and Winter wear with a velour blazer. I usually wear one of my short crowned "Dead-Man" style felt hats or one of my leather short-toppers, especially at the local Carolina Ren-Fest. Summer rotation includes one of many cheapo straw cowboy hats or when going formal my Dobbs Basino rolled brim white Panama; quality. Still haven't had a chance to wear my sage green Stetson Royal Deluxe Open Road, so cool. May add a bowler soon as I think it looks eccentric though cool. Rock on Brother!
