deon80 Viola gave me chills. Icon in the making.
I searched annalise keating killimg it in court
This scene was so intense
I literally forgot to breathe for a second
Viola is a legend
lol me too
lol that's so true, i forgot to breathe
Shamikh Grant well said
truth! This proves why she's the First African American Woman to Win Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Ohh my.. I knew it could not have just been me
no one could ever play this role like Viola Davis. there's something about watching her be a lawyer that's just so exhilarating!!
ikr
Yeah, the court in real life is nothing like this.
gain al Nobody claims it was.
Definitely the best
@@gainal9080 attorneys would never act out like this, it would result in a mistrial but everything else in the show is pretty accurate
Whoever wrote the lines she spoke SO beautifully also deserves some credit. She articulated the heart of the power of corruption in any system of human existence that allows such corruption.
That would be Shonda Rhimes
nope. shonda rhimes is not the writer of HTGAWM, it's Pete Nowalk
C A Campbell
Playing an attorney, how did you expect her to sound
@@damnitsmelol she writes of the show though toooo
Viola deserved the Emmy that she won for this groundbreaking role.
Terrance Mitchell absolutely
this scene is emmy worthy
+brad she GOT IT!!!!
What a prediction Brad.....
+brad and the emmy she won was for this episode specifically. kudos.
Emmy is shit if only mouthing lines fast is called good acting. 😅
All of them!
I just wanna say one thing....
I FUCKING LOVE VIOLA DAVIS!
Did you choke?
Perfection!
Without moving as much as two inches .. she build that scene into an intense & explosive climax like none other ... Pure excellence in every way...!!!
That´s five things... You just lied!!!!!!!!!!
I almost cried from excitement when watching this. Acting genius.
she is brilliant, isn't she?
@@vinylpoetclassicslyon7849 yes she is.
This makes me want to be a lawyer
this makes me want to play a lawyer
i know same, it seems like fun/challenging/interesting work
Lyon Hardeson Omg me too! Just accepted my offer and the semester starts in late February in West Australia! HTGAWM makes it look way more exciting than it really is 😂 Congratulations on getting into law school!
I've always wanted to be a lawyer too but I don't have the lip to be it
Well said and thank you!
Viola Davis is a phenomenal actress. She continues to amaze me in HGATWM and more.....
Terri Makatu hgatwm. Am I saying it right?
oh sorry, htgawm.
And she‘s in person a lovely woman. She really got it all
Her movie Fences kicked ass too
She won an Emmy for this episode, not surprised. No one would've stood a chance against her acting in this scene alone.
That was some good ass shit!! A phenomenal performance by a once in a life time actress.
james sullivan Your tendencies or the great performance??
james sullivan One moment (and that "Doubt" performance was certainly that) does not make a career. She has since evolved and become a force to be reckoned with.
james sullivan I understood the scene. A good actor with any range and ability would've brought something to the table regarding this specific scene. Viola did that because she has oodles of talent. She also admitted in an interview that the pressure was on to do her best in the company of Streep and others. She had no shortcomings and her interpretation was spot on. She has gone on to do other things (obviously) and has garnered even more accolades for her abilities. I'll say it again, as good as this (almost walk-on) scene was in Doubt, it surely does not reflect her limits or the potential of even better performances from her in the future.
Trent Timoy I'm using the scene in a class I am teaching on the Bronx in the 40's. Not for the skills of the actors so much as for the buildings in the Parkchester complex.
james sullivan Good luck with that.
She knows what's she's acting about!
Leila Cherradi good point
Literally got chills.
Not that I need any further proof of this lady's acting genius but she never ceases to amaze me.
Chills, anyone else???
Cruz King All over here!!!!
Cruz King me, everytime i watch this scene, again and again
Cruz King uto
Cruz King Okay but it's so fake. In real life, this would never happen. She's getting all these accolades just for reading an idealized script. She was amazing in Doubt, but I'm not that impressed with this.
Cockeyed Optimista it’s? it’s a television drama? Dramas are dramatic? And also fictional?
ITS NO WONDER SHE MADE HISTORY WINNING THE EMMY AWARD SHE WAS BORN FOR THIS!
You guys have seen nothing. Not a damn thing. Her emotional scene are to die for. She can cry on cue with raw emotion. Hell! Snot even comes out of her nose.
When Viola dived into the character
Seriously thought my fb was going off then. I now feel so alone.
SR21990 lmaoo
The way she drop those lines almost felt like hip hop for me. She's great. And her flow is amazing.
Thumbs up if you also tried to do this in front of the mirror after seeing this .
I did and i nailed it
😂😂😂
Sure did, and NAILED IT, everytime.

@@ossecourkwa2963 Have a seat. Little one.
Anne Hathaway was always my favorite actress since I was a kid, but when I watched How to get away with murder I was just amazed in Viola's acting. She's now my favorite
sHE SLAYED
cash me outside how bout that
I hope she gets nominated and wins an Emmy for this. Either Viola or Taraji I don't mind which. They've both preformed well in their respective shows in my opinion
+Looney Longbottem Done & done.
+Busy As A Bree I know right! Bravo Mrs. Viola Davis! #Amazing
Powerful performance from the EGOT winner Viola Davis!
I have to do a monologue for next week acting class and I chose this one! It’s harder than you think to act like this! This is my sixth year acting on plays and still is so hard to do this scene in a moving way! There is no one like her! This scene is unique!
Viola is an acting genius!
Great choice!!
Just wow!Her memory, performance & voice is just epic!
Viola is a BRILLIANT actor. BRILLIANT. Not many can reach her level of excellence.
1:18 the shift in stance. ❤️
Lord have mercy! Did I read correctly? That Hollywood finally got it right? Did this Rhode Islander walked away with a top prize at the latest Emmy Awards? I had said long ago that Davis was a shoo-in for the role of Nina Simone ("Put a spell on you"). Props to you, Viola! But I do believe your rightful home is on stage, say, Broadway!
And she has done Broadway before. I would love to see that!
BFick478 Yeah, say, in Lorraine Hansberry's "A raisin in the sun," as the mother, formerly played by Claudia McNeil.
***** Apparently, you did not see a young Cicely Tyson age before us on screen in "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman." You see it's all make-believe and make-up.
Simply the BEST EVER!! I am in love with her!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you same here per the real Viola
cant get enough of her acting slayage
I Almost quit my accounting profession and became a lawyer after seeing this part it was majestic and i almost forgot that she is not a real lawyer.
She my fave actor
Thank you.... Via the real Viola
I love this scene so much
Goosebumps! What an incredibly talented woman...
I felt like I was right there in the courtroom. A true once in a lifetime LEGEND💯💯💯🙌🏾🙌🏾
Well deserved recognition for Viola Davis. She first came to my attention with a stellar performance in Law and Order [ criminal intent ] as school safety officer Terry Randolph. If you think " she rocks" now, you can see previews of her virgining talent as she embodied the character of a narcissistic, self destructive, but protective villain. Even Vincent D'Onofrio was challenged keeping a lid on her whimsical eruptions of contempt. [ Season 1 episode 20 BADGE ]
+Tom A Thanks so much going to watch this one :)
cheers!! Have a cold one for me.
She is great with her delivery and her eyes. I love it when she doesn't blink lol
I did it! It was me, your honor. I felt guilty just listening to her. That was intense. I couldn't imagine being grilled like that, especially if I were a senator in a position of power. I wasn't ready.
Davis brings passion and depth to every role she plays. She is phenomenal.
I genuinely lost interest in this show but Viola Davis is aj incredible actress. This doesn't surprise me that she delivers on this show with such conviction, nor does it suprise me that she's been sweeping up the awards season.
there are even more intense court scenes by viola
S G the one with sinclair too
she's a beast
MRVEGAS do you have Instagram?
I've never watched the show before but after this scene, and her spectacular performance DAMN NETFLIX IM COMIN AT YA!!!!
Was it this scene she won the Emmy for? Because I fully support that decision!
+Siobhan Hawes yes it was!
Mambo Black She's SUCH an amazing actress!!
This still gives me goosebumps. Viola Davis is the best
Just when I thought there will be no series will outbest breaking bad this masterpiece shows up this women is a powerful actor
Definitely the most powerful scene from how to get away with murder! This woman is an incredible actress! Bravo, viola Davis, bravo!
The scary thing is, by watching this, you get this odd mental glitch due to which this ceases to be Viola and is instead somebody else through and through. The face morphs into somebody else, the voice is of a different person, EVERYTHING is different, the transformation is so complete, you cannot help it but believe every single word.
Goosebumps.Every.Time
hell yeah
I've never seen How To Get Away With Murder but this gave me chills and made me cry by the end. I'm so overwhelmed.
I think its a combination of excellent writing, excellent acting and accuracy
Yoooooooo why don't I watch this show???? I need to start. 2 minutes of pure PLATINUM.
Acting genius skill...no one can do better than her..it was breathtaking this scene
She is one of the badass actresses
YES, SHE IS. VIOLA DAVIS.🎭. THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY. WHEN SHE IS OFT A
ROLE; SHE EXAMINES THAT CHARACTER
TO SEE HOW SHE CAN MAKE IT UNIQUE AS
HOW NO OTHER ACTRESS NOR ACTOR
WILL PORTRAY IT. SHE ENJOYS THAT
ASPECT OF. JUST, SIMPLY THE BEST
OUT THERE. IT IS HER GIFT🎭🍿🎟️🎥🎞️🎬📀. 😇😎🎤.
Without moving as much as two inches .. she build that scene into an intense & explosive climax like none other ... Pure excellence in every way...!!!
I'm from South Africa and I am a biggest fan of Viola Davis
I admire Viola Davis so much. She is a great actress and a powerful woman. She's so inspiring!
Every character she plays goes straight for the kill...Amanda Waller, Annalise Keating, Veronica Rawlins(Widows)...never seen her play a mild mannered role ever. All hardcore, no nonsense, kill or be killed characters.
well deserved emmy. Viola davis is extremely talented
Once the music started building up, it got HEATED .. and I love every second of it😍😍😍👏
Amanda Waller ladies and gentlemen. Bravo!
Wow, she could relate to the subject matter and gave a breath taking performance.
Amanda Waller!
Yeah, I see the reason for the casting now. Awesome choice.
i've never seen this show but oh my GOD i got chills watching this
I come back randomly to watch this every so often and still get chills each time
She ate this scene tf up

Dear Lord, this show's INCREDIBLE! And Viola Davis is 💣💥🌋🔥🔥🔥

Oh my!!! Chills!
she has so many different ranges . beautiful acting.
Very good indeed, l repeated this part like 5 times. well done to the woman, just got this on netflix and l am enjoying the show.
I know I didn’t do shit, but this makes me feel guilty asf
🤣🤣🤣
Bet she could uncover the truth and find you guilty of something 😆 🤣 😂!!
This scene brought tears to my eyes
Annalise Keating, Elizabeth Sloane and Olivia Pope could run an entire judicial system!
And this is why she won an Emmy. So glad she did.
She was in her bag, and not even all the way. I look forward to seeing the next unraveling of Viola Davis' range. We'll miss you Annalise ♥️
This scene gave me chills!
