#77. Resin Mini Blooms & NEON Pigments. A Tutorial by Daniel Cooper

This is a video trying the Armor Art Neon Pigment pastes on some pendant sized mini blooms. I let my resin sit for 15mins to warm up, I explain this in more detail in #65 with timing and temps.

Those neon colors are really beautiful. I’ve never really been fond of them but, recently I’ve been wanting to try fluorescents. I ordered Eye Candy’s neon mica’s and I got the fidget molds from your video.😊 Our grandkids will love them. They turned out amazing. I love the purple and yellow one! When our daughter was 8 or 9 she was helping her Dad pick out flowers for the garden. She said “We should get purple and yellow, because yellow is purple’s complimentary color.” We had no idea how she knew that and still laugh at how cute it was. We plant purple and yellow flowers every year. Your flowers are all so vibrant and beautiful! I’d love to see the other colors too, especially the green.. maybe in the background for leaves? As usual great job Daniel!❤

Apart from the dubious one they all look amazing as flower design so small love the yellow, orange and green but 90% of them are perfect.bim still struggling with blooms but had a great idea the other day and will try soon. Just received a DJI mini se drone to play with so I'll be busy with that for a week or more 🤣😂🤣😂😉👌❤️👌❤️👌❤️ top man don't stop educating us all fellow resin artist or hobbyists 😉🫶💪👌

Yellow and purple, as well as orange and purple are some of my favorite color combinations… I have found that I like blue and orange too… the weird thing is that I am slightly colorblind so what I think may look good together may actually just be down right gaudy to someone else… I have an extremely rare case of female red/green color blindness and it’s weird… i want to get a pair of those glasses that allowed colorblind people to see colors… I got to try on a pair last year and saw what colors really looked like for the first time … it was amazing! Those of you who can see color are so lucky… I hope that I get a pair of these glasses for Christmas this year!

@@fairyspunfibers9098 thank you :) I hope I get them too… when my mum asked me if there was anything I wanted for Christmas this year or if I just wanted money so I could get what I wanted, I said, "I want to be able to see the colors the way God made them when I see a Rainbow in the sky!"
I LOVE all those bright colors (well, uno I do). I guess these are going to be my next eventual purchase, but the $25 shipping to the US...yowch!

Thanks as always, wow! Is that the shipping cost? I suppose if you buy more, it would work out best. I know they last an extremely long time, I still have bottles 3/4 full since I started using resin.

Daniel, I love these. I'm still trying to learn with my resin with the alcohol inks, but I think I'm just going to have to order the Let's Resin brand. Mine are kind of turning out, but it is like the outer sides don't cure completely hard.
The very last one and the third to last one are my favorites… and the one that was off centered I really liked except I’m not sure what color you used in it… it was either hot pink or the hot green because reds and greens look the same to me… they look grey… that one looked grey and white… I liked that it was off centered…. I use a lot of blues and yellows in my work because I can see them lol… I can see Orange as well as long as it’s not too red … if it’s got more yellow in it the. I can see it… I know it doesn’t make sense lol…

Daniel,since real copper oxidizes to green narually, like in a garden,do you think that might be a good combo? I saw what you did with a pebble and wondered if you could sort of combine the two effects to put in the garden? I have a balcony and would put them inpots. I bet they would look great on the brown soil and you would not have to be as fussy as you are with jewelry. Please understand that I have been watching your videos back to back for days. I haven't worked up the courage to try resin yet but you have just about talked me into it. I want to be sure you know that my comments are simply out of curiosty and admiration. Never meant to be critical in any way. Thank-you for the honest generosity of sharing your talents.😊🎉❤

I thought when you were doing blooms like this that you don’t want them to be opaque? I’m confused… the alcohol inks you use aren't opaque… so I’m very confused right now…
One other thing…. How do you get the let's resin with your collaboration bottles of their product? Are they still being sold? I have pretty much gone exclusive with the Let's Resin products,,, I have found that everything I have used from them far out weighs any of the other's out there!
The sinker white makes the alcohol inks opaque or with blooms and alcohol inks, the white pigment paste makes them opaque. There is a supply issue in the UK atm for the collab resin, hopefully sorted soon

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction… I use Let's Resin products pretty much exclusively now… I do like JDiction resin but not their uv resin… I will only use Let's Resin UV resin because I never have had a single problem with it unlike other brands…

Have you tried using chameleon alcohol inks? I am not very good yet at blooms, but I would love to see how they work with an expert!

@@daniel..cooper I know! I was excited. I'm in the u.s., so not sure if they are available for you, but I purchased a set of 5 on amazon. Pixiss Chameleon Alcohol Inks. I tried them a few times and they seem to behave like the Mariboo glitter ink in that they are very shimmery and not so colorful and kind of dilute into the resin...but they do look neat with darker and lighter inks in that you get splashes of color intense shine randomly. Again, my technique has room for improvement so I feel like the potential is there....I just can't get it yet without more practice at the basics.

@@daniel..cooper I tried doing a search on amazon uk and did not see them. Like I said the brand is Pixiss. I don't know much about how delivery works on your side of the pond...lol. Maybe Let's Resin can be convinced to do a set *not-so-subtle-hint".

Are you talking about his piping bags? They are usually used for icing, but resin Artists like them, too. 😊
You can get them off Amazon... just get the smallest size (8 or 10"). You will have to cut them down as even those are huge!
