Ukitake’s zanpaktou is basically redirecting your power against you so if Zaraki comes at him with Nozorashi it’s basically a case of receiving and redirecting her back to Zaraki. Also we don’t know Ukitake’s bankai and that as well can be OP since his shikai is already that powerful. Lastly, intelligence is also a skill on its own which is why Aizen Uharaha and co are top Captains. Zaraki is not particularly stupid but definitely not intellectually OP but his battle sense is good enough.

Well, both kyoraku and yamamoto's bankai are passively hurting its surrounding on a *WIDE* scale, hence it actually makes sense to not use their bankai
Besides, bankais were meant to be "last resort" in a fight, it's just hitsugaya and ichigo kept spamming it somehow

Yamamoto created the Gotei 13 a little over 2000 years ago. I’d assume he’s at least 4000 considering his lieutenant, Chojiro, (oldest looking guy not named Yama) learned his bankai before Kyoraku was born and states that he hasn’t used it for 2000 years.

He is not the head captain for over 1000 years for nothing. One arm less, got old. Fought against two captain level enemies and one healed them the whole time. He hold back, even if the other side used their bankai they would still lose if he would use his bankai. Man man. They did him dirty in the manga... Although this arc was good, one problem with fillers is that they are unable to properly estimate the power scaling. Yamamoto could have ended those two without even taking a scratch in his uniform

Yama is one of the most stupid fighters in bleach. The real utitake and shinsui are more cunning shinsui especially. He's not stupid enough to fight like this. Yama is stronher but the three of rhem body him in a real fight

unohana is still in top condition, yamamoto is not. They were pretty even with eachother at the founding of the first gotei 13 multiple thousand years ago, though genryusai had the advantage then- he sure as hell wouldn't now, that unohana can not only heal herself but is in way better condition overall than he is. That's likely the reason why she doesn't even fight him- she's a certified smoke demon just like zaraki, but there'd be no point fighting a one-armed old man, even if he is still quite capable.

@@soul8648 No you can’t just say “regardless of his arm or not” losing an arm severely decreases his power and he stated himself his bankai was completely different than the last time he defeated Yhwach. It’s been shown soul reapers can manipulate their age, Yammamoto was old yes but he was at his peak then not 1000 years ago. Yhwach also mentions the only reason Yamamoto was weaker was because his softness and pride clouded him (which is why he didn’t regain his arm to begin with)

Everyone really overhypes unohana. She didn't stand a chance either. Yamas bankai would instantly turn any of them 3 to dust. Their best shot is if they used all their bankais against him since shunsuis is very dangerous.

Main reason probably is that Kubo didnt think of a bavkstory for unohana when he made her. She was probably supposed to be a side cvaracter until later on, like sasakibe getting one shot by ss ichigo with a hand slap. Even the revelation of her true name actually being yachiru isntead of retsu, and the whole thing with zaraki when he was a kid or her hair being attached like this to hide a scar etc. It was probably just a patchwork to make it seem logical but wasnt planned from the get go

Filler from the Reigai arc, the Reigai filler arc has a lot of fights that are on the same level as canon fights.
