My story is quite funny. I was not religious despite being a Hindu. Read his book AGHORA as m a voracious reader. Started visiting temples n doing rituals and now I am in love ❤️ with Maa Kaali. And I am grateful to my bones to Robert Svobodha that he wrote his book and for all his wisdom of a lifetime. I don't see the world as I saw 2 years ago.

I love how ….these deities describe the mind and perception of viewing existence! Hinduism has been dismissed as a false religion by many people. I think from a western perspective it is a very honest way of perceiving our reality.
This stuff is an explanation of the Ultimate Reality in the guise of weird tales. 😊

It may seem a bit odd to some people but having been born and grown up in Kolkata, I experienced images of Maa Kaali everywhere but even as a child I never felt any fear. And despite her horrific portrayal, I only saw beauty in, and blessings coming out from, her. 🙏
It isn't odd. It's the most normal tging for a bengali hindu for the principal deity of Kolkata is kali maa. We have seen her as God and positive force since childhood 😊
I now Feel and see this..ots because we face our fears fully and no longer fear ourselves!!! We feel love on the heart in a different way

Loved the podcast ❤. Kali worship exists in my family, going back generations. So when i started worshipping her myself, i felt completely at home. I start everyday listening to Sri Bhadrakali Sahasranamam.
I totally disagree with the last bit of invoking Maa Kali in your life when you're ready to be on Pyre. Invoking her in your life is also inviting a new beginning with the new you. The dus mahavidyas are her hues that explains she is life, death, and everything in between. She is furious for the demons not for her children. So please don't propagate fear in her name. 🙏

Pranam, What is difference between Maa Tara and Maa Kali? The Rupa or iconography of both the Devis looks similar to me.
But there's a lot of difference. It has to be experienced. Not theoretically understood.

@sathiskumar5504 No, it's not that simple. Without tamas, there is no manifestation whatsover. Ma Kali is vomiting and sveating blood and tamas and brings about the end of the manifestation. Her violent means signify the uncompromising 'take no prisoners' style of recovery process. She is pure sattva, though.
Tamas is an attribute , just like sattvik and rajasik.. It is there in all of us just varying in degree

There is no god nor goddess in Hindu religion.
Among Hindus show me one scripture where in Sanskrit word god is mentioned. There is none.
Specific words are Bhagwaans the holy of highest order who always remain righteous. Never do or teach wrong or evil.
Then are Devi and Devta, who do good for humans and sorcerors use for evil doings according to the kinds of evil doers.
And Kali is wife of Shivji and equal to Bhagwaan. Is Maha devi.
devta means goddess only.
