Tbh, now that you mention it, I suspect we'll see a Wesley Snipes Blade movie, a Jennifer Garner Elektra movie, and even a Channing Tatum Gambit movie, all acting as endings for their character arcs in their original forgotten Fox movies, and in Tatum's case, a first and last all in one, and they'll all tie directly into Secret Wars, but take place in 10005, the Fox Earth.

It's so weird they announced movies that were only greenlit, nothing else. No writers, director, story, cast, anything. And it's movies 4-5 years in the future. You can get a college degree in that time. Studios used to announce films after everything was set and they're ready to film.

They need to recast the X-men for the mcu, the same for blade, because those actors are getting older and having them play these characters for 10+ years is dumb. Blade is half vampire so he needs to be played by a young actor and have him be long lived in the movie, same for Wolverine.

I LOVED the announcement in ‘19 that Ali would be Blade and I would still love to see it, BUT at this point with no real headway on the project, and to your point about maybe not needing a supernatural-esq MCU movie, moving the Blade movie to after the multiverse saga would be a good idea. However, there’s 2 possible problems with that; 1. Ali may be too old at that point and will almost certainly drop the project and/or 2. I think Heroes Reborn could be the blueprint here. The reboot happens, and Blade discovers that the world does not remember any of the Avengers. He discovers that a new Steve Rogers is still frozen in ice, and a new Tony Stark is still an arms dealer. He goes around assembling the new team. Would be a cool way to reboot the characters without rehashing their origins. My hope is that's what they're holding out for with Blade.
I agree that he isn't needed for the MV saga. The problem comes when trying to fit him into the mutant saga. I'm one that's in the camp of not wanting a new wolverine yet, so kinda throws out the story of those 2 fighting thinking each other is the "blood god". The only other thing I can think of is making kushala the first ghost rider in the mcu, and their paths cross to introduce/further the mystic side while dealing with mutants. I know not every project needs to deal directly with the saga directly...but with disney getting most of the marvel properties under 1 roof, would be nice to see more crossovers

I was SO looking forward to the reboot, but I'd have to say that it's about time. Ali isn't getting any younger and any connected storyline has to have elapsed since its inception. With an almost total retooling of the MCU after Secret Wars, it's time to start with a fresh perspective.
I think a lot of everyone is fine with no origin story for certain characters. We all pretty much know where they are from and just want to see it moved further along. Rather than have it cut short just to have it start over again..

If we get a solo Blade movie I will be happy, but having established as a character in other projects could make it easier to write a solo movie in the future.
They need to do a new blade movie with Wesley Snipes with Ali playing his son. Would be a soft handoff and a great lynch pad for a new blade story.
Nobody will ever top wesley snipes as the daywalker but I was excited to Ali take the role. I loved him as copperhead in Luke cage

Oh yeah, bring the one-offs back for Secret Wars , but I really hope they can give us Blade soon. Wesley started this whole thing.

After hearing Changing Tatum talk about his experience filming Deadpool and Wolverine, I highly doubt that he's not going to play the Gambit in the MCU
I've been saying that Marvel should just introduce Blade in Midnight Sons, and move forward until the solo movie is ready to shoot

I would be extremely surprised if we see Blade in the next few years.
It seems like it would be a much better idea to have a movie mostly written before actors sign on.
I would love to see a Blade animated feature, and possibly a series, featuring Wesley Snipes. Perhaps animation would be a great place for the "dark side" of the MCU
Not surprised at all but blade getting shelved. I would like to see a lot more special presentations. Werewolf by night was one of the best things from multiverse saga
