  • Massimo Hilliard received his PhD in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Biology in 2001 from the University of Naples, Italy. Following his postdoctoral training in 2007, he was appointed as a Senior Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute. Here he established his independent laboratory that focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate neuronal development, maintenance, and repair. His laboratory has made a number of key discoveries, which have been published in top tier journals, including Nature and Science. Associate Professor Hilliard will discuss recent research developments in axonal repair and how these can contribute to medical advancements, specifically in the context of spinal cord injuries. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Visualize your spinal cord growing back together. I would do it with the same visualization for at least ten to 15 minutes 2 to 3 times every day. I
Healed several hernias that were holes in my abdomen. The first one
took me part time visualization about
3 months. I was very overweight and popped more in another place. It got to be a series of different hernias until it just stopped. The last one that popped it took me two days to heal it. I have also visualized putting bone around a loose tooth and that work. The number one key is to visualize it the same every time. I am not the originator of this concept. I read a book. If you have faith and do it consistently it will work.

A cure is 5yrs away 😜 or so I've been told most year for the last 20 years lol ...unfortunately you need another superman or famous person to get the most progress and breakthroughs. It's good to know but for new sci it's important to not just wait around for a cure, just hope for it and find ways to adapt to live. First 2yrs after SCI, if you have the means then work hard with rehab, physio and repeated assistance stretches as that shows the most effective for people with getting returns and retaining/ redirecting nerves. Sadly 2yrs after an spinal cord injuries the chances of additional movement recovery is rare and then very small

Martha harvey. I had bells palsy in my early twenties, my doctor at that time said no cure but he told me to rigorously massage my face constantly as to not let the nerves go lax. It worked, and two weeks later, it all came back gradually. I was ecstatic! The doc was surprised it was so quick. The palsy was on my left side of face so it affected my eye ( had to wear eye patch) and take eye drops so as not to let the eye dry out, and could not drink anything except through a straw. Very awful thing to happen to anyone. Please persevere with the massages constantly, he can be cured.
