John Prine had a way of making you feel multiple emotions in the same song, sometimes in the same verse. Above all, his lyrics were honest.
Saw him at a small college in the early 70s . He was opening tor Jerry Jeff Walker who was running really late so John Prine just told stories and played songs til Mr Bo Jangles showed up. Special night with special people

I used to see him in Chicago bars over 50 years ago. He often played with Steve Goodman and Bonnie Koloc.

He was a great American treasure
So glad you have discovered the great man, the more you listen to him the more you want to listen. I was blessed to see him over 25 times in my life and loved every minute of his shows. He has a devoted fan base that really loved him for his music and the great human being he was.
John was one of the most prolific songwriters in the history of songs! I'm convinced if you continue to listen to his catalog, ya'll will become great fans of his. He was so genuine and real. Please continue down this rabbit hole!
