John O. Do you strop to keep the convex edge that Helvie put on the edge or strop out to a flat apex to help doing the flat cuts that there are so many of. I was told to keep with a flat edge for a flat plane carving otherwise you can chew up the wood digging out curves & dips. Bless you for taking the time to help us with info. ATB Pete.
