You really had to be there as a kid who was raised on Atari and NES to fully appreciate what a graphical revolution this was when it came out. It really did blow our minds
I played this game on an emulator at school so i couldnt use volume so i couldnt hear the soundtrack. Im visiting this video because i hear i missed out
This game soundtrack gives me chills. Being 16 years old in 1991 and playing this game over and over again just to be in this amazing world. Still stands up to games today with its dark mood and atmospheric gameplay.
Music at the end of the game made me tear up. I miss those days. Being an adult with all the bullshit worries and responsibilities fucking sucks compared to the day I finally beat this game. I miss it so much.
so many anon's commenting on SNES/NES/64 soundtracks & longplays share this sentiment (myself included). Simpler times. Beautiful. Just get lost in it & relive those good times when you find time to play the games you loved from these eras
I agree. I could play this on and on, amd being forever happy and sad, that games lime this existed, and will never be created, in such a beautiful manner.
+Troy Turner Yup !! even the art direction in both these games are incredible. I like that they even took enemies from Super Castlevania 4 and brought them into Symphony of the night. Same art direction. Great gothic game. Masterpiece they both are.
Incessant Wake Hell yeah, but you can control Simon's jumps in mid air and you can whip in all eight directions. And what are your thoughts on Bloodlines? I think the game is horribly underrated.
Draculas' sense for architecture and interior design is sublime as ever, but maybe he should get rid of those old candlesticks hanging in thin air. That might slow the Belmont clan down.
When I was little I remember having trouble with the level at 14:40 that rotates 90 degrees. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to whip onto a hook and wait.
Absolutely loved the soundtrack for this game. Watching people playing like this drives me crazy.. I'm the type that has to hit every single candle, get every single heart..
Your gameplay matches the iconic Belmont swagger strut so well. You walk as if the forces of Castlevania shiver at the thought of your mere presence, and Dracula envies your unbridled flamboyance.
The music in this game should have won every type of music award possible. Some should have been created just to award this soundtrack. Epic and magical in every way.
Castlevania was always known for it's music and background. I never played this, in fact N64 castlevania (the first 3d vania) was my first and since the I've been hooked on all things castlevania and even made my way to the past to play and appreciate these older vanias.
One of my favoutite snes games and Castlevania games. Dude, you smashed it out. I'm rubbish at this game and never got past level 3. i need to go back and play it.
This game was incredible. I remember when I first played it right after it came out. I didnt realize it was a remake then, but having Simon was enough for me. It wasnt the hardest game, but it was LONG.
Bit of a late response, but I am playing it right now on the SNES Mini, since this was way before my time. It is still very playable today despite the game's age, it is not too late to still play it!
45:12. I found myself standing in the middle of my bedroom holding my controller in my hand just like Simon is holding his whip when I first beat this game. I was heavy into this game. Spent my whole junior summer on this. Good memories.
What a masterpiece!!! This is a sample of what a true video game should be. The 90's and the 16-bit war gave us many excellent titles. This is just one example of them, and now they are all true classics.
SCIV was the pinnacle of linear side-scrolling Castlevania. The the somber music and dark graphics combine to make the best atmosphere of the series. It's a game I never get bored playing.

Wtf me
music in this game is incredible
Yes it is childhood favorite
Agreed! I'm watching this solely for the soundtrack haha. It was a fun game too but the soundtrack was the best ever!
Yeah, I played this on Halloween. Music and atmosphere is on point big time, and very unique
But a woman who likes this game is amazing. A woman like you 😚👌
I played this game on an emulator at school so i couldnt use volume so i couldnt hear the soundtrack. Im visiting this video because i hear i missed out

One of the best SNES games of all time!
One of the best games of all time! and soundtrack!

Beautiful. Just get lost in it & relive those good times when you find time to play the games you loved from these eras
letsfixthis every single one of you fuckers needs serious treatment
Music is so good in this game
I think this was the best Castlevania ever made. I logged endless hours playing this over and over and over and over and over ... sigh ... memories.
I agree. I could play this on and on, amd being forever happy and sad, that games lime this existed, and will never be created, in such a beautiful manner.
the music and sound effects are just so awesome
Amazing music and great game. Brings back nice memories.
Just watched the entirety. (Applauds) So many great memories of playing this. The end credits alone are worth playing a full game.

I find it amazing that this game was way ahead of its time regarding to graphics and soundtrack
The game play and music on this game is simply stunning. Way ahead of its time.
Favorite Castlevania ever. The music was amazing too
Endezeichen Grimm ahahahahahahahaha, your mommy says, "get to bed Junior"
+Endezeichen Grimm boooo hoooo stop crying junior. Nice troll account by the way
+Endezeichen Grimm ahahahahahahahaha you fail cryer
Played it in 90’s, best memories
The Classical music theme in this game was way before its time.
This and Symphony Of The Night are classics.
+Troy Turner Yup !! even the art direction in both these games are incredible. I like that they even took enemies from Super Castlevania 4 and brought them into Symphony of the night. Same art direction. Great gothic game. Masterpiece they both are.
Incessant Wake What stands out to me are the controls. Granted, Alucard moves better in SOTN. But Simon's controls in SCIV are MUCH MUCH improved!!
Troy Turner agreed. first of all. It's Simon Fucking Belmont. He is Castlevania PERIOD.
Incessant Wake Hell yeah, but you can control Simon's jumps in mid air and you can whip in all eight directions. And what are your thoughts on Bloodlines? I think the game is horribly underrated.
Troy Turner Bloodlines is underrated because people expected more after the excellent SCV4. In my opinion Bloodlines is a bloody, fantastic game!
the sound is superb and the graphic is just incredible...long live sprites...
Yep, with all that glorious Snes showdown. Snes should have been called the Slow Nintendo instead of Super
Draculas' sense for architecture and interior design is sublime as ever, but maybe he should get rid of those old candlesticks hanging in thin air. That might slow the Belmont clan down.
I love the fact that the music for the first stage is also the music for the final boss fight.
Great game; loved it as a kid. I also love that this video is full gameplay with the game's stock sounds, with no commentary to speak of. Thanks. :)
this is just an epic game, and it always will be
That was one of the best walkthroughs I've ever seen to one of my favorite games of all time
Best soundtrack in video game history. Period. Hands down. End of story. End of report.
For its time, this game was really a work of art. They put some much attention to detail. One of the best SNES games there was, without a doubt.
When I was little I remember having trouble with the level at 14:40 that rotates 90 degrees. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to whip onto a hook and wait.
Cameron Alexander Yousa RACIST!
Undeniably, amazing. Makes me cry, and bite the happiness, at the same time. You, Simon, are in my heart.
Absolutely loved the soundtrack for this game. Watching people playing like this drives me crazy.. I'm the type that has to hit every single candle, get every single heart..
And defeat every enemy and explore every inch of the game.. does a disservice to the game creators and the game itself.. imo
I can't wait to get my hands on that SNES CLASSIC MINI.
2:55 one of the best SNES tracks EVER. Gets me hyped every time!
Arguably the best Castlevania game ever made
Thomas Storff easily the best
John Doe definitely one of my favorite3, I also loved Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness , Symphony of the Night, Simons Quest
Thomas Storff yup,
Thomas Storff Definitely! Why latter Castlevania games didn't use the same gameplay and such makes no sense.
***** the music is so unbelievably awesome, it fits the game so perfectly
This was my first game of Castlevania i ever played.. I have been hooked ever since.
Thanx for an awesome trip down memory lane. Wow.
My favourite castlevania, the music is the best!!
Room of Close Associates FTW!
No
And the multiple whip angles!
I used to love the gold level block 9-1, so much fun!!!
Hearing this OST on the Genesis YM2612 really makes you forget about the SNES version.
So extremely nostalgic. Thanks for uploading this :)
This game never gets old
Brought back memories. I was 6 when this came out. Thank you for the upload.
i was 16 great memories
Your gameplay matches the iconic Belmont swagger strut so well. You walk as if the forces of Castlevania shiver at the thought of your mere presence, and Dracula envies your unbridled flamboyance.
best game play out of the series. eight way whip, whip wiggle, jump control, etc.
The music in this game should have won every type of music award possible. Some should have been created just to award this soundtrack. Epic and magical in every way.
Would you consider this the best Castlevania game of all time?
Castlevania was always known for it's music and background. I never played this, in fact N64 castlevania (the first 3d vania) was my first and since the I've been hooked on all things castlevania and even made my way to the past to play and appreciate these older vanias.
Who's here from the 90's era? lol
This was one of my favorite games for the SNES back then, this and ZELDA..
Sighs.. it was so different back then
One of my favoutite snes games and Castlevania games. Dude, you smashed it out. I'm rubbish at this game and never got past level 3. i need to go back and play it.
Great walkthrough dude! I loved this game years back.
my first super nes game whit an outstanding music and graphics a master piece!
You would need leg muscles that strong to trek the entire landscape while swinging a whip enchanted against evil.
Not that this would be impossible but the gameplay in this video is so fluent it almost looks like a bot playing this game. Well done! ❤🦇
The atmospheric music at the tombstone REALLY REALLY setup the tone for this game. The music is I think what made this game a success, same with SOTN.
2018 anyone? awhile watching this video i remembered those awesome times when i was watching my dad play this game
Raienryuu Guy hyped for smash ultimate?! 5 days to go mate
@@HombreDufff how did you know? damn dude 4days left for me though. never been this excited for a game like for smash
Raienryuu Guy yeah me too. I spend my time watching smash gameplay on youtube haha cant wait anymore!! 😂
The time it took you to beat the game, was the time it took me to arrive at the cave stage at 9:07 .___.
you mean the amount of time it took to beat the cave stage? :0
He played this like A BOSS!!!
Excellent gameplay!
Stellar game!
Nostalgia just listening to the music good I had some good times playing snes as a kid.
This game was incredible. I remember when I first played it right after it came out. I didnt realize it was a remake then, but having Simon was enough for me. It wasnt the hardest game, but it was LONG.
Old Simon was a cow to move around but the music and backgrounds were truly great for it's time. That's why I'm here. Thanks for sharing the memory.
I still remember how amazed I was when I first saw that Mode 7 effect used to rotate that entire room.
Judging by the comments, Castlevania is more a RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE than a video game! Wish I'd played it.😞
Bit of a late response, but I am playing it right now on the SNES Mini, since this was way before my time. It is still very playable today despite the game's age, it is not too late to still play it!
Sebas Vaessen dude so am I. Just finished it and it blew my fucking mind!
For a retro game it aged very well, its still thoroughly enjoyable. One of my favourites from childhood. Boost up an emulator!
23:25 I think this is the first time that boss music plays in the game. Very stylish way to introduce a deadly waltz!
kilroy987 The creepiest, most creative boss here.
Great LP THX 1000 Times !
I really like how the intro music is the same as the final boss music.
i am crying right now watching it, my childhood is in here year 90'
My favorite Castlevania game, and easily one of the best games of all time.
Indeed. This game is a timeless classic.
The nostalgia is real with this one
This one had great music
One of the best castlevania games ive ever played :)
45:12. I found myself standing in the middle of my bedroom holding my controller in my hand just like Simon is holding his whip when I first beat this game. I was heavy into this game. Spent my whole junior summer on this. Good memories.
Perfect run ! GG dude
god damn when that 1rst stage song starts, still get goosebumps. just fucking epic
the music isfucking awesome when your facing dracula at the end it pumps you up
my favorite game in the Castlevania franchise
This is a Masterpiece ❤️
Such a great game, music score is top. Those damn spikes though, one touch ‘Argh...!’ Then instant death. Drove me nuts.
Muito legal , sensacional ! bacana demais , parece um filme , lembra muito minha infância anos 90 inesquecível !!!
I loved this game!
I'll be playing this a LOT on the mini SNES.
What a masterpiece!!! This is a sample of what a true video game should be. The 90's and the 16-bit war gave us many excellent titles. This is just one example of them, and now they are all true classics.
vidéo very nice quality music sound fx and gameplay is perfect thank you
34:41 the music hits your soul
just a fabulous game!!
Saudades desse jogo épico!
You know a game is awesome when one level is just one boss fight after another before you get to the Big Bad :)
Fantastic soundtrack
Thanks for uploading this. Me and my gf just watched the whole thing while I re-assembled a laptop, and had a chat about what the game was like.
so many memories
Can't wait to play this again on the Classic.
Basslines were so funky in this game
Can you dig dem beatz. It makes you want to dance dem disco beatz.
SCIV was the pinnacle of linear side-scrolling Castlevania. The the somber music and dark graphics combine to make the best atmosphere of the series. It's a game I never get bored playing.
Great times :), the best of childhood
