- GLAAD's Anthony Allen Ramos chats with Auli'i Cravalho and Rowan Blanchard about their new queer rom com "Crush" which is available now on HULU. The new film tells the story of an aspiring young artist who is forced to join her high school track team, and she uses it as an opportunity to pursue the girl she’s been harboring a long-time crush on. Cravalho talks about what it would have meant for her to have a film like this when she was growing up and Blanchard talks about loving her mother in the film being played by the great Megan Mullally. But she soon finds herself falling for an unexpected teammate and discovers what real love feels like. "Crush" is available to stream now on HULU.

She was just trying to make a point (perhaps badly) that bisexuality as a term focuses too much on gender being binary and people who very stubbornly prefer to be called bisexuals and never queer, often tend to do so because they deny the existence of non-binary and transgender people.

I haven't gotten to her part yet but it's surprising to hear that because she's usually well spoken.
I mean this movie was pretty decent but like it feels very indicative that they're not doing press together and neither addressed the other directly in any meaningful capacity when specifically asked. Kind of impressive how good their chemistry is considering the apparent tension (although I guess maybe that can help).

Also their personalities are radically different. Rowan seems to be very sarcastic and ironic, while Auli's personality seems to be very Golden retriever ish, which I guess can be an important factor to consider as to why they might not get along... The tweets that Rowan liked were mostly ironic and were not intended to target the bisexual community but I guess Auli took it personal, but if you're chronically online like most of us gen z, you understand sarcasm and irony layered memes. I think Auli shouldn't have taken part into cancel culture, the TikTok that she posted went viral and Rowan probably received a hoard of hate comments, maybe Auli should've taken a more human/empathetic approach to this whole "biphobia" situation
@@karku3fan Rowan’s ex was biphobic and she literally would comment the same thing and said once on her story Bisexual shouldn’t be a thing because it takes away the importance of other genders when it comes to attraction in the LGBQT+

@@haileyparsons3844 Everyone is very polarizing rn, it's either black or white, there's not a grey area, Rowan does have a point when it comes to bisexuality but she's still very young and emotional person which gets into the way when it comes to voicing her opinions. I saw her liking some content from conservative gays and it made me wonder if she's feeling alienated from the lgbt community which is making her take an approach towards more radical positions. We're taking steps to be a more progressive movement but Rowan thinks that everyone will start suddenly reading queer theory and gender theory which is asking too much from people inside the lgbt community. Both Auli and Rowan will probably start changing their opinions once they start growing older, they're going through what some people consider to be first world problems lmao
i can't help but see the disparity between how well spoken auli'i is compared to rowan 😅 but anyways both women are so fine but i gotta say i fell in love with auli'i's personality
Which is interesting cuz in the film, Rowan felt a bit more comfortable performing, while Auli'i was just very naturally charming without it feeling like acting most of the times.
Rowan was a child actor and she was forced to be mature at a young age. I guess this time she’s finally comfortable and she is usually super confident but I guess this interview wasn’t her day..

I absolutely loved this movie! Auli'i has such a sweet energy...I'm looking forward to see more of her work. It's also nice to see more Polynesian actors on the screen.
