Im a boygroup stan, but one thing i realized is whenever ggs try to cover bgs, they went fully changed. Like, they'll wear a masculine outfit, put on dark expression and simply said, they'll carry on with how a bg did a song. Meanwhile, if it is a bg, some of them would change the song to make it "less cute" or "less feminine", didn't fully change outfits, and overall the vibe of a gg song couldn't be delivered well :// and some of them did a gg cover while laughing or with "comical" expression... Kinda disappointing :/ except for verrryy few certain covers by bgs.

I think the problem with dressing is just girls in masculine outfits doesn't look as different? (idk a word to describe it) as to when a boy wears girly clothes (I don't have anything against cross-dressing )(for example: a girl wearing a cap,leather jacket and jeans would look normal but a boy wearing a dress wouldn't)so most just improvise and wear clothes they think can pass as girly or cute ( respect to the boy groups that actually go on stage in wigs and skirts/dresses tho)
And I'm pretty sure most boygroups change up songs cuz some girl groups songs are in super high pitches they might have problems reaching.

Actually, gg dances tend to be sexy and feminine, and bg dances more powerful (sometimes), so if a gg do a bg dance may feel like a normal choreography for them, cause gg do have powerful choreos too (like Loona with Cherry Bomb) but a bg can't be fully serius with a girlish/feminine choreography, but when they convert or use a choreo suitable for bg it turns out awesome (like Oneus with Starry Night).
In this video, there are more boygroups who portray the respective girlgroups more accurately though? A lot of them even use the exact outfits, full-on makeup, and long hair wigs, if not some of them would at least wore the right color scheme outfits. There's no girlgroup who went really all-out until using short hair wig or make their appearance androgynous. But I agree that there's more boygroups who only cover girlgroup for the comedic purpose though.
Also for male idols wearing girls cothes is extremely humiliating. One idol even said that he cried because of it.
