The basic idea is cool. Might add squeezing in bath sealant on the door bottom and sides?
are you sure those boom bags will not float?
The density of the water in the bags is the same as that of the water trying to get in the house, wont the bags just flow away with the water?
They will. In Hurricane Ian 2 years ago we had 2 55 gallon drums filled with water (each with more than 450 lbs of water in them) just float away like it was nobody's business! Sand bags and a tarp are probably the way to go.
Fifty dollars for double sided, water proof tape, a few square feet of tarp, and some empty bags for sand... hmmmmm

Blocking the door only wont stop the flood water from entering the house.
Is it better to place these on the inside of our lanai that gets tons of water every time it rains OR does this set up go on the outside of the screened lanai?

Some years back I saw a man who had a MASSIVE water filled tube around his house. Saved it from a flood... I was amazing.
