I have lived in houses where the owner said don't go onto a certain floor or eat their food and I never did. Out of respect. This chick could have netted an easy $200. Sheesh.

Why do people use usted so much? Whats up with so much formality? Su casa can mean your (formal) house, his house or her house.
Emmanuel Perezorino From what I was taught, the 'usted' form is used with a stranger/ someone you're unfamiliar with so I saw the use of 'su' casa in this case to be understandable.
Well she owns the house, and the housekeeper only has to listen to her
So theres no need of formality there imo. Usted is fitting when you use it to talk to someone older than you or with a higher status
Sorry, no, usted is used with anyone out of simple formal respect, you cant be saying "tu" at someone just because you think they are your "equal" its about formality and respect.

Ikr. That lady couldn’t even follow the first rule, which was probably the easiest one to follow. Also, when a stranger writes a creepy letter telling you not to enter a creepy looking room, you probably shouldn’t enter it.

I like this ... not because it is scary or suspenseful, but because it's quirky. The house sitter's facial expressions and the tone used when the letter was narrated. Nicely done!

Tina Flintstone The voice reminds me of a woman's voice from the 80s show called the Hitchhicker. The women would always be rich, stuck up, and manipulative.
She should have rushed out of the house when she saw that the cat's dish was empty so quickly and the cat was nowhere to be seen(3:56 - 4:03). These are all simple and straightforward rules, especially the one that says "my house is not your house". BTW, this has potential for more sequels.

Unique, simple, and effective. I really appreciated the fact that you were able to craft a tense and creepy story with no gore, violence, jump scares, or cursing. Very impressive.

I don't drink, so easy for me. If anything the owner may have had a pleasant surprise to see it unopened when they get home.
While I like a glass of wine, I can't say I'd feel an overwhelming compulsion to drink someone's wine....not to mention someone who sounded so darn creepy EVEN ON PAPER!!

We all knew it was over when she was drunkenly musing over mixing red wine with coke. Nicely done. Love how the suspense wasn't broken by some cheesy monster or character in the end.

Why I would survive the apartment..
I don't drink any type of alcoholic drink anyway.. And why would I go inside a creepy room anyway, hell no. After I fed the cat, i'll go into the room, hold the door with a chair or something heavy. I'll just simply lie down in the room all night, wearing my headphones and watch youtube videos until 9 am the next day.. Done, 200 dollars back in my account!
Also, I just got a theory...
These special 7 Rules, belong to some type of _entity_ living in that apartment. That's why there's a rule about NOT entering the room at the end of the hallway. That room is the abode of... _IT..._
The "home" owner (cuz it's an apt) might be some sort of practitioner who was desperately in need of a getaway (having to house-sit all the time, and tend to whatever lives in her closet), and posted an ad for house sitting. However, these rules belong to the practitioner's own regiment of timed use of alcohol, electronics needing to be turned off at certain periods (cuz _IT_ is a nocturnal being of the "unknown", and doesn't like technology), etc.
That girl screwed up (like others have), and that knocking _didn't_ come from outside the apt, but from that room at the end of the hallway... Upon entering the _strangely opened door_ the entity can now... consume(?) those who foolishly disobeyed _IT's_ 7 Rules...
Haha you don't understand how much I enjoy hearing these theories. I can't give too much away because we may be doing a follow up to 7 Rules in the near future-- but I CAN tell you that I like a lot of what you put together there.

I've been involved with Occultists and their (peculiar to others) endeavors, and so... that's where I drew the theories from. This video reminds me of a few interesting experiences I've had LOL (of course, the short is far more fantastic).

Well I guess she technically didn't open the door at the end of the hall, but she did fall asleep on the couch and not turn off the electronics. What a derp. Haha. Fantastic work. No jump scares. No gore. No cursing. No sex. Nothing like that, and yet a wonderfully crafted and still humorous horror flick.

I have watched so many short horror films Ive lost count and this one is at the top of my favorites list! Keep up the great work! The hint of comedy in there was just enough to keep it light yet still suspenseful and interesting. Love it!

I would have screwed up two of the rules. I would have wanted to lock the door of the room I slept in and I would have let me Ipad play all night for company and background noise. The other rules would be no problem
1 i have cats so i would feed it at the excact time, 2 i dont drink, 3 i dont sleep, 4 im always on electronics,5 why would anyone go in a room at the end of a corridor, 6 i have no friends so no one could come over, 7 i cant be bothered to get up and lock doors...... so i guess id get the 200 pounds :)

Not necessarily. If whatever's in that room needs to be fed ... I'm sure the home owner would have some other tricks up her sleeve, to get you into that room.

I think she broke at least 4 out of the 7 rules, arguably 5. Drank the wine before 8:30pm, laid on the couch, didn't turn off electronics before bed, and entered the room at the end of the hall. Music plus TV would be more noise than I'd make if the was a rule against it.
At least she seemed to feed the "cat" on time.
She broke every rule except feeding the cat. She also broke the "no locking the door" rule.

It was super realistic UNTIL 6:40 at that point she should've have tried to leave but the door would've of been locked and then maybe heard a meow from inside the opened room and start saying here Kitty kitty while walking slowing towards the room and right before getting there the meowing stops and that's when you hear the girl say you didn't follow the rules and boom *jump scare* video over.
