- A trip to Glencoe for a days winter climbing and a night in the new Kingshouse Hotel. Overshadowed by her marginally higher neighbour, Bidean nam Bian, to which she is connected by means of a col just a few meters too high to give her Munro status, Stob Coire nan Lochan is most.

Brilliant!
Thank you Jennifer. Glad you enjoyed it. 😊 🙏
@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 my son was up there yesterday. I hope to do it too but without snow! Yr films are inspiring.
Great video! The weather was exactly like that when I was up there!
Wonderful 🤗
Gordon Edie 😀🙏
Some folks reckon the Kingshouse has been spoiled by the renovations. Looks pretty good to me! Nice one.
Alan My opinion is that it’s sad to see the old building disappear but it’s history still lives on. The truth of the matter is that the place was nearing the end and it’s now been replaced with what is a cracking place. It’s not really changed the overall landscape IMO!! It’s brought jobs to the area and is a great place to visit. Some won’t agree but thats okay! 😀
I think I might have dumped the walking poles way sooner. Very nice vid. Well done!
Neil Thanks for watching. 😊👍
Great film reminds me of a great day on Dorsal Arete and camping in the Kingshouse woods, bet you cant do that anymore.
Thanks Darren... yeah the Kingshouse has changed a little. ATB D&L
wonderful footage as per usual . felt like I was there with you . have been on Stob corrie nan lochan via Aonach dubh but this route looks fun . keep it up peeps . love the gear by the way
Thank you. Yeah it was a superb day out. 😊🙏
Another excellent video.
Thanks Colin. 😄👍
Didn't even recognise the Kingshouse, I do hope the climbers bar is still there, with the nice little wild camp spot behind near the bridge...
You can still camp nearby but the bar as you may remember it has gone. There is a separate bar to take its place but doesn't have the character you may remember from the old days. Still, life moves on and whats there now, is superb (IMO) :-)
Glad you made it down safe.!!

Hello you two. Just subscribed to your channel. Excellent footage of an epic adventure. The 'kingshouse hotel' sure as changed since i last saw it on route on the west highland way. All the best and thank you for sharing with us. Gary
gary kirkham thank you for your very kind comments. We’ve quite a few adventures planned for this year so hopefully lots more to be added to our little channel. 😀🙏

Thank you for watching. The Hotel is awesome it has to be said. ALB for nooooo :-)
Braw! 😍
Have to agree with Richard, indeed another great video, only just started watching you guys, and I have to say am enjoying them very much.. I can't work out whether your both completely mad, or just skilled at what you do ?? but on reflection think it's the latter ! oh and who was the music at the end of this vid by ?? enjoyed that also.. be safe you both x
Hhahaa .. We've done a few courses now, just to confirm we're using best practice and on the whole we're doing okay, every day is a learning day though! We do a lot of planning to make sure we keep the risk to a manageable level. If its outside of our skills, experience and capabilities we are more than happy to retreat and leave it for another day. :-)
Nice video. I never realized that Scotland had that terrain and mountains. Conditions on top must have been tough. What was the temp and wind chill temps?
David Jennings There’s huge areas of mountainous country in Scotland. Not sure on the temperatures but I can confirm, it was bloody freezing! 😂😀👍
Fantastic. Really enjoyed the vid. Scenery was amazing. Fair play to you both going for the summit. Hotel looked great also. Is that hotel on the west highland way route or am I mixing it up with some other hotel. Thanks for sharing.
pilgrim3 thank you for watching! 😊🙏 Yes that’s the same hotel. It also has a new bunkhouse. We really enjoyed our night there. Worth a visit. 😊👌
@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 thinking strongly of doing the West highland way this year or next year maybe. Cheers
Great video. Love your Cali, very similar to mine - is it 4motion with winter tyres ?
David White thank you. Not winter tyres etc... it wasn’t great in the snow if I’m honest. Love our van though, Hamish! 😀😂👍
Great video guys, thanks once again for sharing. Do you know if the Kingshouse Hotel is dog friendly? Heading back up north next week, weather permitting 🤞
William Yes I believe it is. There is a £20 charge for the dog if you are staying overnight. Thanks for watching! 😀🙏
@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 Thanks Guys
can i ask how much for to stay in kinghouse
I can’t actually remember what we paid, wasn’t the cheapest, but we think it was worth every penny . There’s also a nice bunkhouse if you didn’t want to stay in the hotel.

Some great shots there. Love Glencoe. What were you shooting the footage with? Thanks for sharing
Illya Rudkin Thank you. GoPro Hero 7 on its own. 👍
That is what I like to hear as I have one. Your CZcams feed is particularly good showing off the detail. Mine seem to suck ATM!?! I have I GoPro H 7 too which I am looking to mix up with a Insta360 OneX soon. Done some experimenting. Looking good. All the best.
