Really glad someone can explain a flip reset. There are so many factors into the single play and I'm over here getting the flip and wondering why I'm not continuing with the ball into the ball
All of this is completely correct but the best way is while you get the reset tap the break and the ball will bounce up. It allows you to have time to get back to the ball to do something with your flip. A lot of CZcamsrs don’t mention this but it helped me A LOTTTTT
Ive been told the opposite by so many high level ssls. including Sora. they said, that hitting the brakes is okay up until mid gc3. of course im not that high. but they said this is because any time you spend on a comfortable setup, is time opponents spend defending. But i do believe its good to start this way as its slower and more consistent if you're learning how to accurately get your first touch with resets.

I been practicing for so long for flip resets. My question for everyone is do you use the directional air rolling, or just air rolling with the stick. I have tried both methods and still having trouble.
Don't air roll until you're near the ball then air roll and pull your joystick down. That's the easiest way to get into the correct position for me. It also helps me if I reverse while getting the reset for some reason. Maybe that part is in my head. Not sure. Lol! Hope this helps!
Not trying to invalidate Luke or anything but Squishy has a video like this from a while back explaining these exact principles, if you want to improve further have a look at that video
Yeah. but the "Pop" only works for max gc2 or gc3. from there on you have to control your reset either through a air dribble or through bangers to the ceiling to get a reset

The best tip I've heard : if you're positioned awkwardly after you got a reset, you probably were too slow to the ball
