    Cracking video. I have no problem taking the odd bass at all! The amount that shore anglers take compared to commercial fishing is miniscule. Tight lines.

    Nice one Tommy 👍
    It's nice just to wander off with a rod and a bag of bits.
    You never know what surprises might turn up. Good sport, a tasty dinner and most importantly no dogfish 😂🐟🎣👍

    Nice video. The camera angles were fine imo; it was good to see how you were working the rod/lure. Lovely size bass for the table. I am like you putting the big girls back; nice to think someone else might get a lucky catch too after being released. They are so slow growing there aren’t many big bass!
    P.s. would love a video on free-lining, especially if you have any of your usual helpful tips. Personally I am put off not having a weight or float to help keep the line out of the kelp or from rubbing rocks.
    Tight lines.

    Nice session pal.. that's the ideal size table fish👍 that rapala in your box does some damage on the menai and one called a chug bug 😉

    Top video Tommy, can't seem to catch a bass on soft plastics only metals.

    Well done Tommy a cracking session on the lures and like you say there's nothing wrong with taking an average sized bass for the table every now and then. When it comes to bass stocks it's the trawlers and netters that are the major problem as 98% of bass fishermen are catch and release. As for the hole under the rock I would say it was a large edible crab that was there at some point in time. I used to go crabbing with a crabbing hook and seen similar holes with plenty of shells around which had been eaten. People think that a lobster would beat a crab in a fight but it's the other way around and a crab would crush a lobster no problem. Just goes to show also Tommy that you don't need all the expensive lures to catch bass as fish really don't see the price tag. What I do now is buy blanks unpainted lures and airbrush them the colours I want then coat them in epoxy so they are as hard as nails. I actually have the glow in the dark paint but not used it as of yet. Love the channel and the varied types of fishing you do and I can see the channel growing day by day and you deserve it as I know the editing alone takes time. Take care buddy a da iawn eto Tommy.

      @@fishingcountrylifewithtommyjoe I forgot to mention that I know a fella who fishes the inland sea using sidewinder and the savage gear sandeel lures. I don't know the area very well to be honest with you Tommy but he fishes it as it's flooding and the sea is rushing in. He positions himself so he's right above the flow where the sea comes in and doesn't cast but holds the lure in the current. So the lure itself is stationary with only the tail flapping in the current. He says it works a treat on the bass as they are just off to the side waiting for an unsuspecting fish to come through and pounce on it. To be honest that wouldn't interest me as I like to cast and retrieve my lure and put some action into it. Have you ever thought about getting a kayak Tommy as I see a lot down in my area using them.

      @fishingcountrylifewithtommyjoe  Před rokem +1

      @anthonyjones2465 yes I know the spot it's a little bit of a boring way to fish I have done it my self and it works to be fair. I'm going to try the kayak soon and see if it's for me or not

    I think the small lobster was taken by a velvet swimming crab.They are known to go for small lobsters

    • @anthonyjones2465
      @anthonyjones2465 Před rokem

      Hope you don't mind me butting in but I paint my own lures. You could have any lure glow in the dark as I have 4 of them. I've tried plenty of different paints that were supposed to be for fishing and they were terrible. What did work amazing was a glow in the dark powder which they use for nail art and it's amazing stuff. It's also available in neon blue and orange. All I do is add into some epoxy and paint it on any lure and the glow lasts ages plus the epoxy makes it as hard as nails. I also never throw any old lures away I just airbrush them, change the hooks and they are as good as new.
