- In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4) video we will be making it so being a great power applies negative modifiers that get gradually worse as the great power ranking goes up, up to the worst modifiers for the number 1 great power in the world.

@@Chewbert There's also the different focuses of the rulers, like the diplomacy, colonialism, expansionism and balanced.

Suggestion:
What if being a Great Power made everyone dislike you in EU4:
for each tier
- 1 diplo rep
- 25 opinion
+ 15 liberty desire in subjects
+ 20% agressive expansion impact
+ 2 unrest
Everyone gets Punitive War CB against you
Why ? Because it will make countries perfectly balanced.
And all those debuffs get increased from 1 to 8 times, depending on which place in the Great Power list this nation holds.
I think that, if this mod gets a little more balanced, you can actually get some seriously more historical (or at least interesting) games, where large empires stagnate and eventually fall, like in real life
QOTD: You can call me boring but I think Ottomans are going to be hella fun since we'll have to deal with several debuffs in the late game. Dealing with janissaries trough the entire camping also sounds painful and fun.
That's just true but arguably russia is more fun with the achievement
@@TheMisterDarknight I haven't seen it yet but in general, Russia is fun. Expanding to Siberia and conquering eastern Europe while dealing with Ottomans in the south is super fun for single player.
I think Russia and Otto will both be a great run to try
@@arya_real I always feel like Russia and Ottomans miss flavor, Ottomans is always a matter of how far you can blob out and your armys are especially in the early game so buffed, that u can Deal with alliances double your strength without a probleme. But still kinda fun, because without really big alliances as your opponents, it's an really relaxing blob out experience, but sadly without flavor.
Russia is a little bit different, because you don't start that extremly strong, of course it's an easy start because your neighbors are weak as hell and expending in the east is no probleme at all. But in the West you can be really unlucky and face an Commonwealth alliance setup that makes expending really tough. But i always feel like playing Russia is a little bit like playing Observer Mode, you are expending in the East without real game impact, strike on the Ottomans when they are struggling or even crumbling, and then later expend in the West and beat up the Common Wealth (when you didn't already do it until 1500 when they got shitty allies).
Playing in Central-Western europa and far east asia just have so much more flavor.
@@MintsClassic Honestly I like how easy Ottomans are. Sometimes you get tired of playing weaker nations that just give you depression, and streamrolling everyone is cathartic.

Being King in Prussia had nothing to do with the HRE. They couldn't be Kings of Prussia, because Poland held the province of West Prussia and without controlling all of Prussia they couldn't call themselfs King of Prussia.
While it is true that Frederick the Great proclaimed himself King of Prussia after the First Partition of Poland, the creation of the title of King in Prussia was explicitly because of the HRE.
Within the borders of the HRE, only two King titles were permitted - King of the Romans (held by the Emperor) and King of Bohemia (which was separate until Bohemia fell under a PU with Austria). Prussia was outside the borders of the HRE, so it was decided that the Hohenzollerns (who held the title of Duke of Brandenburg, which was part of the HRE) could hold the title of King over their Prussian territories.
Intersting Setting and outcoumes. it seems having colonies and PU are strong with this. mode. Maybe another batch of malices for GP inc,uding Liverty desire of subjects?

QOTD: England in an MP match with my friends. Can't wait to Rule the waves (even if I could do that before) but more importantly to use the buffed marines in conjunction with the army national ideas (the ones I can get by replacing the ones for the navy).
I am going to play The Ottomans of course! I am some kind of an achievement speedrunner so I need to get this achievement for Roman Empire by 1500 ASAP 😃
QOTD: Russia and Ottomans are classic nations, seeing Russia buffed out of irrelevance with updated missions, and Ottomans with flavor and some difficulty will be way more fun to play.
Never impressed with Lotharingia anymore. It forms in half of my games, and always, without exception, becomes the number one AI great power. The land is just absurdly wealthy.

I'll probably play Chukchi or a custom nation in the new world when 1.35 drops, like I usually do. I did Where Am I? last night and Two Sicilies formed and had almost historically accurate borders. Europe is always so funny in those games
First nation with EU4 1.35 (done): Navarra and the restoration of the Roman Empire
Second game (currently on a break from it due to exams): Cebu and the restoration of the Chola Empire ("Philippine Tiger" achievement)
Third game (soon): Mzab and the restoration of Al Andalus ("Unlikely Candidate" achievement)

As an actual game prussia or GB, but i will try to break the Angevin limitations and try to form both angevin and great britain, its eu4 it has to be possible
When 1.35 comes I think I will play Korea, a country that I have never played and that hasn't been changed to drastically, so probably a good candidate to start familiarizing with the new expansion
When 1.35 comes out the First Nation I will play is almost certainly more Anbennar
Alright, so you've done a couple videos where one country had all the monuments in the world, what if you did a video where byz, dahomey, and the popeman all had copies of every Monument in the world
Eu4, but every colored nation gets their own buff. Like red colored nations get a fire dmg increase. Blue ones get like navy buffs. Green countries get economy buffs. White countries get religious buffs in diplomatic buffs. Yellow nations get like increases trade or something like that. Oh and make purple especially op so we get thicc theodoro.

There is another reason why the prussian monarch was called king in Prussia and not of Prussia. When the title was created only one half of Prussia was ruled by the Hohenzoller, the other half was under polish control.
Imagine this setup in MP.
You'd have big brain moves such as:
-Releasing every vassal you possibly can
-Not taking institutions
-Burning dev at every opportunity.
-Deliberately losing wars.
