      @@StealthBlackHand Yeah, I feel the same way. It's a good game, but it's clear through story and design that it's basically trying to emulate Generals and not Tiberian Sun.
      They removed a lot of the grimdark atmosphere and straight up killed off the tiberian mutated ecology thing the Firestorm DLC introduced. They also fucked Nod by making their army roster design way too cartoonish and whatever galaxy brain who decided to remove walkers from GDI should never touch a game design document ever again.

      In response to a bunch of the above since it's picked back up: EA were in this habit of allowing games to finish but just awkwardly messing with them along their development (see also Mass Effect 3 which wasn't cancelled, but you can painfully tell which parts were rushed by an EA suit).
      C&C 3 is pretty good, but the original grand concept probably would have made it the best C&C game imho. It was *intended* to have a more apocalyptic and alien visual style like Tiberian Sun, believed to be have CABAL and the Forgotten playable (so 5 factions versus 3 in the final release,) a longer story that wrapped up more questions, and generally just be less cartoonish in both visuals and flow.
      Kinda hurts.

      Read up on the bible, Genesis 4,1-16. God marked Cain, so that no one would kill him, and that is why he is immortal. This is also referenced in the name of "The Marked of Kane" faction. After that, Cain went to the land of Nod. Like the brotherhood of Nod. Kane/Cain is ancient, and maybe the god in the bible is actually alien, too?
      There was also a real black hand, a secret society of Serbian officers that fought for the unification of Serbia. They also killed the Prince of Austro-Hungary and his wife in Sarajevo, which led to WWI. Sarajevo is also an important location for Nod in the games. Kane even appears in the red alert games as a consultant of Stalin. I think it really could be that Kane is an alien that was banished by some alien ruler to earth, and he wants to leave earth through the scrin.

      @@factfiend1000 Interesting take. The Tacitus has been on earth for a very long time, long before the Tiberium came to earth.
      The Tacitus is an orb that holds knowledge, but where did you draw the connection to the fruit of the tree? And Adam and Eve being cast out by God(the Scrin?) would imply that humanity was somehow cast out by the scrin and now Kane wants to return humanity to paradise? In the games it seems like Kane only cares about himself, and is willing to kill thousands and even millions for his own secret goals of luring the scrin to earth and then escaping the planet through their portals.
      Tacitus is an old roman name that means "The quiet one", but the name is mostly known for an old roman historian whose books are an important source of information on the time of the roman empire.
      "The quiet one" makes sense, because it's hard to decipher the Tacitus, and the connection to an important historical writer implies an ancient origin and great knowledge. I love stuff like this in stories, hidden meanings and references, several layers.

    A good story for a proper sequel. GDI and NOD have been fully preparing for the Scrin's return both amassing huge military forces. GDI's further advancement in sonic weapons and peace with NOD have helped reclaim even more of the planet from Tiberium. NOD receives a signal from the tower. The day they've both been preparing for is about to arrive. Only this time the 2 former rivals won't be fighting each other. They won't even be on the same world.
    Kane and Legion found a way to piggyback on the Scrin's teleportation. Basically when the Scrin initiate the jump, all the NOD forces connected to their link will jump to the coordinates the Scrin are launching their invasion from. *The Ichor Hub*
    Now Earth's 2 greatest military powers missions begin.
    GDI are tasked with defending the Earth with everything they've got. Earth must not fall.
    NOD must seize control of the Ichor Hub and shut down the relay to the Earth invasion fleet and discover the location of the Scrin world and teleport Anti-Tiberium bombs which were created by both NOD & GDI scientists. Which will react with the Tiberium on the planet just like matter and antimatter completely destroying the planet.
    But they've identified 3 possible Scrin home planets and they only have 2 bombs. Without anyway of knowing, Kane picks one and Legion the other.
    The sudden loss of 2 of their core planets causes the Scrin to panic and all remain off world forces are recalled home.
    Legion opens the connection to Earth to allow GDI to travel to the Ichor Hub.
    Kane tells GDI we need to create another bomb so we can finish the fight.
    GDI informs NOD that after losing 2 planets the Scrin identified the facility where we made the bombs. They then gathered the little scatted forces still in the system and launched a covert attack on the facility destroying it and most of the scientists.
    Well then it looks like we're doing this the good old fashion way. Due to their fast surprise counter assault against the Scrin invasion both sides suffered minimal losses.
    Enter final mission. The combined invasion of the Scrin home world. Which is very similar to Earth. Tiberium infestation was actually quite low and well maintained.
    GDI and NOD defeat the Scrin saving Humanity from the Aliens. NOD stays on the Scrin world which was renamed Kane in honor of the great leader of NOD who is dead for real now. He died smiling knowing GDI agreed to leave the planet to them. then GDI returns to Earth. With the Ichor Hub being jointly owned.
    The Human race finally has peace and time for rebuilding. All the suffering is over and both planets experience 2 centuries of economic prosperity and growth. GDI and NOD have stopped fighting... For Now.

      Kane planned to abandon Earth. In my head canon, he goes to the Scrin home world, leaving GDI and NOD to fend for themselves. NOD and GDI merge under a peace treaty to rebuild Earth. Kane, with his inner circle, conquer the Scrin and return to subjugate Earth once and for all. A brief interlude of doubt and infighting among former NOD leadership leads to a split, with the majority siding with GDI and the others siding with the new NOD/Scrin hybrid force. Kane appears to dominate as he commands a vast cosmic naval force while demanding total surrender. An inner circle betrayal sets Kane back on his heels, and GDI/NOD (now the called Covenant) launches a desperate counter attack on the final tower, setting up a beach head onto the Scrin home world. Kane eventually recovers only to find his Scrin forces in disarray and firing on each other. Covenant send a modified tiberium bomb through the tower, detonates on the other side, and wipes out the home world space command. Without the native Scrin command structure, and Kane’s inner circle either dead or missing, the harvesting operation collapses and widespread communication breakdowns leads to total anarchy among Scrin factions. Covenant quickly destroys the vulnerable Scrin tower and picks off inert Scrin motherships and panicking troops. In the last scene, Kane is seen boarding some alien transport system and leaving the shattered Scrin empire behind, and a weary Covenant to pick off the remaining resources.
      Deep in the bowels of Earth, a Scrin/Human hybrid, The Son, awakens to lead a fallen race into a new age.

    GDI: Establish ground control and eliminate Nod and Scrin forces for future reclamation efforts.
    Nod: Throw the Blue Zone dwellings of the elite into unrest and panic, destroy GDI and fend off the Visitors for the next stage of evolution and ascension.

    Considering that the Scrin invasion was just a mining operation, I really hope that we sometime in the future get to see this actual invasion force showing up. I can already see the huge amount of enemy ships coming out of the tower in a epic but also scary manor, spreading all over italy in what could be hours. I'm pretty sure GDI prepared more against the Scrin, and Kane knew they would return, so he too would have prepared. So not only would this be a full on war of the worlds type of game, it would show the GDI and Nod at first being at a pretty huge disadvantage, but slowly and surely the competent commanders of the GDI and Nod forces would begin to create a stale mate, or perhaps even start to gain more territory against the invasion force.
    EA has proven with the CnC Remake that they can still do good with the series, and while I hate EA, I do hope that with the help of Westwood studios, they will slowly revive the Command and Conquer franchise, and bring it back to its old glory, or dare I say it, to a glory this series has never seen before!

A larger planet would probably need a larger harvesting fleet and therefore, possibly more than 1 Foreman to direct the fleet and said harvesting operations.

      Maybe Earth wouldn't actually need a foreman if the Scrin didn't find any resistance and Ichor was mature enough. It would be just a regular harvest.
      Again, the lack of information really doesn't help here.
      Maybe the number 371 tells us about 371 'things'. Whether it means 371 planets, foremen, solar systems or sectors of some sort...
      We don't even know what's the job of the foreman. Is it just management, military or terraforming. Is 'he' needed for the harvest or is he just kept there in case some resistance shows up? We don't know...

One was centered around the Tacitus being a soul-prison for the leader of the martian force that fought against the Scrin (they knew how to beat the Scrin, but discovered it too late) while the Earth was still primordial, and the other was centered around the Scrin rebels stealing the "bible" of the Scrin -- which may or may not have been written by them in the first place -- and the Scrin Primal's crusade to recover it."*

  • @dragonstormx
    @dragonstormx Před 3 lety +6

    My basic vision for a PROPER follow up to Kane's Wrath:
    2nd expansion focused on GDI as they were mopping up Nod's remains, with some cutscenes devoted to making the player feel bad for the poor souls that Kane sent out to die since he openly stated GDI was going to win. After Kane steals the Tacitus, GDI thinks there is another war starting up, but are diverting by the Scrin invasion, giving a level where they hold off the Scrin entering through the Thershold Tower. As the Scrin are entering through a single point they aren't able to take advantage of their numbers the way they expected and GDI slows their advance.
    3rd expansion focused on the Scrin. Since GDI is putting up more of a fight than expected, Traveler 59, who was already on the planet in secret, undermines the defenders enough to allow the full invasion force to unload on the planet. Even with weapons built to fight them, GDI can't stop the Scrin, only surviving because after breaking out they went after Kane instead. Kane's base is leveled, but he escapes, of course, with his surviving forces meeting with GDI. Thus the game ends with that same scene shown with Kane making his "proposition" which GDI obviously is in no position to refuse.
    The following game does a mix of C&C and more traditional campaigns with some events in all the campaigns are canon, basically acting like a visual novel with different routes over the same events where certain decisions lead to radically different outcomes.
    GDI uses the technology from the Tacitus granted by Kane to develop improved anti Scrin weapons, but can't hold out against them forever. Thus we get a desparate use of the Threshold Tower to attack the Scrin on their turf with a plan Kane claims will remove the aliens as a threat by control Ichor Hub. Kane reveals he was an alien whose species who created the Tacitus. In their experiments Tiberium, among those experiments led to it being used as a fuel source for living machines who became the Scrin. Unable to survive without Tiberium, the Scrin began to spread it across different worlds, wiping out their creators and countless others. Kane of course proves treacherous and shows he intends to control the Scrin and rule the universe, leading to a climax that becomes a three way conflict between GDI, Nod and the Scrin as they all fight for control of the hub.
    GDI's ending has them finally kill Kane, this time dissecting him to ensure he stays dead. With the Scrin successfully controlled, GDI repurposing them to help finally remove the Tiberium from Earth and began healing the damage it cause. The thought of how much of a mess the Scrin have made of the universe doesn't make exploring space seem very inviting, but GDI figures that they will do so in time, someone has to repair the damage the aliens caused.
    Nod's ending has Kane succeed in his backstab of GDI and control the Scrin. He somewhat laments finally winning, the Scrin were a plague on the universe who consumed all they touched, but he actually had some respect for GDI, they in many ways served his purposes better than the brotherhood did. Kane controlling the Scrin doesn't remove their threat however, he continues the same experiments to create new Tiberium based life free from the Scrin's addiction, which calls for more worlds to seeded with the substance, conquered, and harvested, forcing many new worlds to suffer the same fate as Earth as Nod expands across the starts.
    The Scrin's ending shows them wipe out GDI and Nod before reducing humanity to fodder for the Scrin war machine. In Kane's final moments he is personally executed by the Overlord, flashing back to the horrors Kane witnessed as the Scrin ravaged his world and for all his efforts, Earth has met the same fate. As will countless other world throughout the universe.

    A cycle is an actual thing that our sun does ! Basically, every 11 years our sun switches from being more active to less active, then after another 11 it switches again ! Considering the scrin are an advanced interstellar species which most likely can tell when a star changes it's cycle. It's possible that they use cycles based on the star of their destination.
    If that is the case then we can calculate that they spent :
    21 549 earth years in transit.
    101 310 earth years in stasis.
    If their cycles are based on their homeworlds years though, we sadly have no way to know how long a scrin cycle lasts.

    Considering where 3 left off, with 1 tower still standing, & dormant, for kane to do "something" with, to just pretend that never happened & practically destroy the franchise & story by completely changing up the games mechanics.
    Myabe they didn't do any of that, I honestly can't remember what the story was in 4, but I remember wondering, what in the fuck have they done, when I looked into it that 1 time.
    But, I mean, it was made kindof obvious that these guys seed planets for later harvest, combined with talk of the Ichor hub, heavily implies this is a vast either local cluster or galactic operation, which would mean these bastards are everywhere around us.
    So EA had an enemy of gargantuan proportions, tht Kane was wanting to utilise the technology of to become like a god or something, & it was also implied that he's the actual Kane himself from ancient times, oh jesus how could morons at EA shit on this....... An enemy offering insurmountable odds for the payer & humanity to overcome.
    Oh I hope they get a do over with part 4, the original team that is, EA did allow unprecedented public influence in the remasters, & release of the source code.
    Maybe they'll wake up and realise there is an awesome story just sitting here, unfinnished, copious potnetial just sitting, untapped

    It's too bad there was never a continuation to the franchise, I'd have loved to see the story threads laid out across the lore come together. Preferably with a more C&C2 vibe rather than the direction 3 was going.
    Not to mention the potential return of cabal as a separate faction.

      Unless you want highly monetizable mobile crap of a game with p2w mechanics you can forget about it, EA is only interested in making ALL of the money, and since RTS games are not the most popular genre on the market, everything that isn't a shooter/battle royale, sports game, or sims is automaticly not worth the effort for greedy thiefs at EA. Just look up CnC Rivals and you'll get what i mean.

    • @Jethild
      @Jethild  Před 4 lety +13

      Hmm..not sure. Since the only experience with them in C&C so far is the harvesting force. Though that did do a lot of damage. So an actual invasion force should be pretty destructive. But maybe not on the level of the Combine. Since the combine were able to take over Earth in like 7 hours. So it's unknown whether the Scrin invasion force could do so that quickly. Assuming they aren't defeated again.

      @Hunter-pt4zy Před 4 lety +15

      Keep in mind the human race in half life was nowhere near as advanced as GDI and Nod are. And looking how much more advanced they became in that dreadful sequel, it's gonna take something very formidable to defeat them. The only military units you see in the harvesting force are the Annihilator Tripod, the Devastator Warship, and the Planetary Assault Carrier, all of which are meant as nothing more than low priority escorts, throw away units to the Scrin. Imagine what their truly capable military assets are capable of if that's just their low security harvest force and grunts. Those 3 units are among the strongest of the Scrin seen so far.

    • @sawassasin7471
      @sawassasin7471 Před 3 lety +10

      take note that the half life universe they we're not prepared for an all out attack plus the human technology on the half life universe weren't much of a threat compared to GDI ion Weapon and Nod nucleare and stealth technology. Practicality Scrin is much more power full than the combine because the scrin did so much damage to both faction take note that it wasn't even an full scale attack it was just the harvesting division...

    • @mayshiratoshi6390
      @mayshiratoshi6390 Před 3 lety +6

      @@sawassasin7471 Agreed. Plus that Earth is fully ready for war (cuz it part of Kane plan) when scrin arrive. With that "Just Harvesting Division" make so much damage to GDI and NOD force (even make GDI can't do both destroy threshold19 and relay node at the same time with all GDI arsenal that can penetrate to Nod Temple with ez)
      The REAL MVP of this was Kane who prepair Earth for ready to war with race that far beyond Earth ever face lol.

    The fact that the scrin have a file on Kane is juicy. Is Kane an extraterrestial? If so, what are his true motives? Using the scrin protals to go home? Was he aware that earth would become a target for a scrin mining operation in thousands of years in the future and pushed human progress in order to fight them? If so, how and what history do the Scrin have with Kane?

    • @Vaprous
      @Vaprous Před 3 lety +1

      That's the worst part isn't it?
      What GDI and Nod fought was essentially just a scrin mining security force dispatched to eventually harvest Tiberium from Earth once it had done its job and totally converted the planet into solid tiberium essentially. Tiberium is effectively just a "dumb self replicating machine" whose job is to slowly but surely collapse the planetary ecosystem and render the whole planet into an essentially extractable solution (liquid tiberium). for processing into other useful materials.
      Scrin that were fought in CNC3 were essentially Scrin AI operating remotely under the constrains of their tasked mission and the forces deployed therein were all effectively robots or (heavily implied to be in some specifics cases) cyborgs. In essence, humanity hasn't remotely encountered actual flesh and blood baseline scrin yet.
      Its apparent that the Scrin are, at the very least, a highly extensive interstellar empire with at least hundreds of worlds being at least directly monitored for their progression towards "harvest" by their mining operations; and probably at least that many under their direct control. In effect: the Scrin are terrifying as shit.

  • @connordavies7503
    @connordavies7503 Před 3 lety +7

    Note to mention. When GDI attacked the Scrin on their way to earth, the scrin saw it as an attack, became aggressiv and activated the defense mechanism. They never had the intention on attack the Humans. They wanted to harvest the Tiberium.

    • @tacotony3274
      @tacotony3274 Před 3 lety +9
