It's interesting that Avril had the reverse effect. Most singers, as they age, start having that "old" sounding voice but Avril in the early days had a more mature voice and as time went by, her voice got more "young, sweet" as of a teenager!
i think teenage girls who sing rock songs tend to try to have a more matured voice but as they get to know more about their own voices they realize they've been unconsciously forcing (kinda) rougher vocals. i used to sing more like that when i was younger, i know Hayley Williams too on Paramore's first album. i might be wrong but it's what i've observed
I loved her 2002 vocals. Her and Hayley both had that tough girl tomboy thing going on and I’ve always lived for it. But I do appreciate that now that they’re in their 30’s they’re moving on from it and changing/aging. I’m 24 so I’m lowkey “caught in the middle”

Honestly, when working on a voice properly the voice should get better with age as opposed to worse (up to a certain age). She's technically at an age where her voice should be at it's prime (my opinion as a voice teacher)
I think her best phase was in her mid 20s. A lot of her notes now have high larynx, are a bit strained, and a lot less weight in them than she used to have. For example, in I'm with you at about 2010-2015, the note had a lot more weight and tone, while now its thinner and more strained. The same applies to songs like when your gone as she can't really put as much weight in her voice as she did back then, so I personally disagree with the idea that her voice is stronger because there was definitely a phase where she could sing louder, higher, and more effortlessly.

@@obeseembryo6172 Hi, it's thinner in 2021's "I'm with you" live because her original highest not for the song was D5, in 2021 she sings a E5 which of course is thinner and she uses more mixed voice, basically less air pushed against thinner folds (requiring less pressure to vibrate), which I think it's the main point where her technique improved. It's reasonable to prefer a lower version as it can sound warmer. One might find more technique less expressive, but it depends on how it's used and if technique is at expression's service it doesn't have to happen. As for the higher larynx, well especially for lower voices it's not taboo to safely raise the larynx to resonate higher notes more and emphasize higher frequencies, though twang is the main resource for that. The hooty yet warm classical sound of operatic singers is due do the lower larynx, it sounds great but for these songs it might not be the best.

Man I got chills all over my body, so many memories just came rushing back to me watching this video. She truly is a superstar
Me encanta que esté interpretando sus canciones más antiguas en la afinación original del álbum, Avril es mi crush desde la infancia, espero pueda dar otra gira por Latinoamérica cuando pase todo! 🙌🏻🎶⚡🎸
I remember being OBSESSED with her in 2005 when My Happy Ending came out. Don’t Tell Me was a jam everyday. Her, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and The Offspring were my first few cd’s
Thanks for the deep nostalgia😭😭💙💙
Followed her since 2002 to date and my favourites are keep holding on and wish you were here. Much love from 🇳🇬
I am like... I love her❤️❤️🔥🔥Her songs are moving me❤️❤️i always feel better after listening to her music. Thank you Avril. You're my punk queen👑🎶❤️❤️
Love 💘 you ❤
You can definitely tell her voice matured a lot and how the lymes really gave us such a gap in time that you can see how we have all grown up a little with her. She's like that long lost classmate who we forgot about and ended up being the star of the class after graduation.
watching this.. very nostalgic. I was in elementary when she became so popular and her songs were played over and over again in the radio. Also remember watching her music videos in Myx and MTV
Her songs is timeless ❤️🔥 It just hits different. I love listening to her songs because it takes back a lot of memories and feelings when I was younger.
I LOVE AVRIL!!! she stays genuine & true to herself in her performances, even after many years ❤️❤️❤️
I love her live versions so much than studio versions! I just love her raw voice I dunno why
so talented!!
Wow great job compiling the video!
I loved her since I was 8 years I think, and now I’m 16 :,) I’m so glad I had the opportunity to saw her on live in 2014
That last performance of head above water was INCREDIBLE, does anyone have the link to the full performance, please???

Unfortunately, it can't be uploaded on youtube in full because of copyrights. I love this performance too, I haven't seen her putting so much emotion into singing in years! And she really sounds incredible.
@@arlvideos5662 thaaaank you do much!! I know she seems so Into it, and sounds amazing as well !!
her voice is so good and stable - jumping up and down but sounds perfect !
Such an underrated talent, love her from first song to last, her voice is so powerful xxxx
She’s amazing!! Love Avril!!
So these days shes combined both styles together with her shows? Cool. Always preferred the original darker style way more myself but thats just preference. Songs like Complicated made me fall in love with her music when I was really young, maybe six or seven? Always badass!
she seems so much happier now and that’s what shows the most growth in her as an artist ♡
Awesome video of great music 🎶. Thanks for sharing 👍
She has so many good songs, but my favorite goes to I'm with you. Its too relatable 🥺
