Thanks for the info, as a journeyman machinist I like how meticulous you are with checking tolerances. Thanks again these videos will be a big help to my blaster project
I was told by a machinist at the automation company I work at that drilled holes or milled slots of the right size in a cast component rarely weaken the part. He said in some applications it actually adds strength by relieving stress lines. Good mod. Thanks Ken.
No they wouldn't...As that area doesn't get fixtured for any machining they would never make another fixture, another setup, another operation(drilling in that case) for a 1 percenter mod! Company also don't polish exhausts...it's the same thing!
Я знаю,сверлят эти отверстия в корзине.Но заметен ли от этого хоть какой-то эффект?Увеличиваем поток масла через пакет дисков?Зачем?Чтоб лучше смывались продукты износа?Другого объяснения просто не вижу.
@mutton1986 rounded lookin ball on it. Kinda like a push rod off of a small block chevy. The cam pushes it up and then lifts the lifter to open the valve ya know? should it have that? Maybe i should get my I touch and record my quad and what im trying to explain. would that be alright? I just don't have the cash to pay a mechanic and Im my own mechanic myself lol I just need some moral support, hint hint! lol Thanks alot man, even if you can't answer my questions, I still appreciate your info
Right, oil helps the plates to not overheat !! I do put a .5 mm stainless steel cover right where the plates touch with the basket fingers, no more aluminum wear, basket longevity and thats is! Just like barnette does
at 4:24 the basket notches that hold the plates, the things you have blue tape on, are scruffed up pretty good as if it has been rubbing against something. will it be alright if I just sand them down? also, I thin maybe the ball that goes in between the shift flaps rod and the rod thats actually engaging an dis-engaging the clutch by pushing the outter clutch basket is gone. how can I get it out if its stuck or is it supposed to just roll out? also my rod that goes on the outter basket has a
How good were those holes you put on the basket ? Im trying to make them to but just to put a cover of .5mm stainless steel on the gasket fingers to avoid to much wear on the aluminium! What do you think, sounds good?

i know a machinist that says it will weaken it if the bike companys thought it would work they wouldve done it.

Btw awesome educational video. Your work and expertise is top shelf.
Thanks man great vid
Cold chills blah, Great vid mane.
How much material can I remove from the inner clutch boss casket? .2? I’m referring to the 5 mounting shaft for the pressure plate.
Do you do anything to the compression plate?
I like the background music :) btw nice video :)
create holes on it that you do? I am Vietnamese
In wich part ur gonna balance it out?
Mantap om
Pardon me sir... Does making this hole on the clutch basket increase the speed of the motorcycle or does the efficiency of the engine increase?
nice info! its make sense to me. what size of dtill bit you use?

Did the holes increase the speed ??
is this drilling mod worth doing on a yfz450r?
no it weakens it. if any brand wanted to do it they wouldve.
so whats the effect on putting holes in the clutch house
Better clutch lubrication and will expand the life of your clutch plates

for what purpose for making holes in the clutch housing?
For better clutch lubrication

what size of holes did you drill. I want to do the same thing on my cr 500 clutch basket.
kiero un amigo de ese pais miren mi facebook edward el prototype
Never drill any thing like in the video... Any moving part that is on a shaft needs 2b balanced stupid thing 2do if u ask me
