- Just wanted to share another small part of another perfect Hiatus Kaiyote show :). When the keyboards die at the very beginning of the show and Nai Palm does an impromptu cover of Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody at the request of the crowd (while they are fixing things). I'm swooning.
only the real special ones can captivate with just a guitar and their voice and she truly does this man

+Luckykuku - I think I made that comment on a Prince video. Prince had "it", but sadly usually let his ego get in the way. He was at his best at unguarded moments like 'Just My Imagination Paard van Troje 1988'. That term "anointed" pops up on a lot of Fantasia and gospel singer videos. The anointed ones are singers and musicians that can make you cry, sensitive and humble souls that seem to channel a higher power, something beyond themselves that they don't even really control - watch 'Nai sings My Cherie Amour' for a prime example. "The Spirit takes over." I am big hiatus fan and was at this show this was in no way better than the original she did it in her way.yes.. but better??? no not at all!! It shows that she has some chops and taste in music..

With all due respect, but could Chaka Khan do this solo with guitar? - btw, how she translated that keyboard riff from the original to guitar is spot on, most guitarists would have effed that up or just played chords.

Check out Chaka do it live. Nai's got an awesome style and no doubt a gifted musician and artist, but Chaka's effortless range will always be.
