I'm 29 and I absolutely love your channel. Its so refreshing to see a real, down to earth personnaly here on CZcams, and someone with bold, unconventional choices ! Im so tired of sugar bombs and PR from the other fragrance influencers. I happen to love some vintage perfumes to such as Angel, Eternity, Soir de Lune, Shalimar, Jaipur, Kenzo Jungle... I dont care if these are called grandma scents. Lets leave the overpriced sented boring hipster waters for the masses 😂. I also love how moved you are by some perfumes and how you recall some memories to them, which is (I think) the real beauty and magic of our olfactive sense. Its such a pity that perfumery is reduced to "panty droppers", "mankillers", "clean girl aestetics"... Even though I understand that most people wear perfume to seduce and gather compliments, you should want to wear perfume because it speaks to YOU and you first. So many people put pride on the price of their perfumes, the name on the bottle, the popularity. Sometimes when I see some videos or comments, I cant help but wonder : is perfumery an art, is it personnal pleasure or has it become a trend based on snobbery, overconsumption, social acceptance and insecurities ? Me personnaly, I know where I stand...

I appreciate your vlogs. I just turned 40 and decided to step outside my comfort zone. I have always worn safe fruity florals, I now appreciate more deeper fragrances. I had bought a bottle of Arpege, and my 14 year old daughter has taken it, and wears it daily. She loves more heavy scents, like Oud. I really appreciate her boldness in scent choices.

A fabulous homage to the 80s. I can never understand why there is so much hate for Angel. The first time I smelled it I just thought it was absolutely divine and that has not changed. It's a masterpiece. I also remember wearing Red Door a lot in the 80s, that was a favorite of mine as well. And Poison ... got it for Christmas one year. You're so right, let's give these fragrances the round of thunderous applause they deserve. They are iconic. And all the perfume snobs who say they hate them ... well let them miss out. :) Loved this video, love your sass and I love your channel.

Poison is one of my favorite scents of all time. My mom and I used to share our perfumes; we loved Clinique Aromatics Elixir, Dune, Poison, and she also loved Donna Karan Cashmere Mist and Liz Claiborne -- a real 80s scent. I think I would like Angel but it's too pricey for me to do a blind buy. Will send for a sample.

What a fun video! Girrr, you go ahead and rock your big bold scents, enjoy it! I think vanilla manufacturers control the perfume industry these days. Everything is yucky vanilla. No artistry to perfume anymore. Although it is an icon, Angel is likely the one that started the gourmand craze. And Flowerbomb kept it going strong. I so loathe the gourmand scents. I just don't want to smell like food. I agree about Poison and LouLou. I'm lately coming to the realization that tuberose is really my thing. I adore Fracas as well. Obsession and Opium are amazing on a few people, not on me. But, Chanel makes softer gentler versions of these two. Coco is the soft refined version of Opium, and Allure is the softer refined version of Obsession. The Chanels are not timid in the least, both have huge sillage. Chanel has just sort of smoothed out the rough edges, for people like me who accept the fact that we just cannot carry off Opium and Obsession. Love your videos.

Every word about vintage perfumes, modern perfumery, today's fashion, personal taste and authenticity was well and wisely said. I don't care about people's comments on vintage perfumes. I proudly wear whatever I want depending on my mood; Poison, Coco, Cinnabar, Parfum de Peau, Eau de Soir, Must de Cartier, Magie Noire, Boucheron to name a few. I really enjoy wearing them and I'm not going to compromise and smell like candy floss because this is a trend now.

Hi Gabi! Angel was the best perfume to open the video with. I love Angel and really want a full bottle.
I like Opium, Obsession (not sure how I feel about the current version). Red Door is so nuclear; I need a small bottle. You know that I love Lou Lou, and Anais Anais. I need to give Eden another try. I don’t get “synthetic jungle”. To my nose, it’s a fruity patchouli scent akin to Gucci Rush.
Poison is the perfume that started it all for me. I have the vintage EdT in the tall oval bottle. The new version is still okay. I agree with you that the Poison line is the best.
The most hated fragrance that I talk about on my channel is definitely Anais Anais. I always get a comment from someone who hates it.

For me, I'm slowly tracking down vintage bottles of my favorite big scents of the past. Obsession was easy, as was my beloved Fendi, and I just recently found a pre-bar code bottle of Poison in an antique mall (barely used, all the notes largely intact). So there are the now vintage ones, due to my age like Obsession the original one, White Linen, Cinnabar, L'air du temps, Red Door, AnaisAnais and several others and the "newer" ones that are from the last twenty or thirty years until now. Today I don't want miss any of them because they always pepresent a certain time or mood in my life. And YES they all have to be worn. Most of them are Masterpieces.

It’s true last year and half I’ve tested from mini bottles and testers around 200 perfumes. Each of them I was choosing carefully, each of them I was analyzing and wearing in different conditions. I was testing vintage perfumes 1969-2000, modern niche and designer perfumes. Sadly but there are just several niche perfumes can compete with vintages and surprisingly not the most famous or expensive companies. And only one designer can get close in originality and quality. Others are soulless, dull, annoying etc. I was happy when I found a nice simple but good quality neroli perfume in designer house. It’s that bad that a simple but good neroli perfume is an achievement there.

I was 14 when I discovered CK's Obsession, and I loved it so much ❤, although my classmates were all wearing CK One, All about Eve or Oilily scents, I really didn't care smelling "like a priest" or "like an oriental brothel" as some of them said. 😜 After that, I discovered Opium (l had just a little bit of pocket money at that time, so I had to wait for my godmother to gift it to me for Christmas), she always wore LouLou, and I adored it on her, then I fell in love with Angel and somewhat later with Dior Addict (the REAL original formula), and so the perfume story it goes on until now (I am turning 44 next month), I still love all those scents and have a "collection" of about 150 perfumes now (I use all of them, some more than others), and just like you I don't care about what other people think about it or no matter what season, I wear my Tubéreuse Criminelle, Shaghaf Oud, Habanita, LouLou, Fils de Joie, Cinnabar,... I’ve got a bottle of 90s treasure today. It’s so rare, it’s so special, it was waiting for me since 1992😊 It is a 100% va va voom and more, Supermodels of Versace shows, Courtney love in her best years, Interview with a vampire and Dracula, giant raspberry from the fever dreams. I was a toddler at that time but somehow I was feeling in 2000s how things suddenly got worse and while wanting at that time to have something I truly truly love, something that will make me having a sweet heart ache I didn’t find anything that beautiful. I wanted to wear something as hauntingly beautiful and original as beautiful ladies of my childhood were wearing around but I didn’t know what was it. My mother wasn’t a perfume lover. I almost stopped using perfumes except one because it was made with good taste and wasn’t silly or cloying but it was too light and pale to fulfill my hunger. Last year read two books by Luca Turin, went to fragrantica and after many months of testing vintages and modern perfumery I can say with audacity that you are completely right. If you want to find something great, it will take time and knowledge of the perfume industry and many perfume companies which do not have hype. Till the middle of 00s you could just go to any corner and choose between stunning creations. By the way my treasure is Versace Versus Donna.

Poison, both the original and Tendre, I adored and wish I could go back in time and experience it again and again. I’m coming around to Angel ❤️. Yes, fragrances today definitely lack originality and character. A lot of it is meant to echo the sweet addition of candy and confectionery. I know for me after 2001 when the FDA bamnaed and removed ingredients i stopped biuying alot of designers bc they became weak and watered down reformulated garbage WHILE the price tripled. Thats a scam. In disgusted so if im 1 person who feels this way im sure there's thousands of other women my age u feel the same, and watched the quality disintegrate.. I was around and had many perfumes in the 80s&90s and everything, including drug store perfumes were dense, dark and long lasting. Well worth the price. Boy how i miss the days ans those juices. I totally agree with you. I grew up in the 80's and I remember then that every perfume had its own unique DNA and scent profile, each one totally different to the other thus making them distinct from each other. Today I go into the perfume store looking for something unique and all they are selling are flankers of a flanker of a flanker, and when you smell your tester cards they all smell more or less the same and you end up going home smelling like a cocktail of "sameness'. The creation of perfumes (like any art) is a reflection of the people living in different times. Back in the 80's people were more creative and had more emotion which is why the music was better. Art without any emotion can only breed replicas for financial gain and not for art sake. Today, people have lost their creativity and having any emotion is considered a weakness and even mocked and this inevitably has affected the creation of perfumes (art) and the result is a globalised (sameness) perfume filling different bottles and masquerading under different names - much like the person who goes online and creates numerous accounts under different names.

Maybe these are not the most polarizing scents ever, but definitely unusual for someone my age (19):
gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori - such an improvement from the original beautiful white-yellow floral
Pani Walewska - the OG grandma floral, so affordable and unique
Oriflame Mirage - sadly discontinued, mirage is a perfect name. all the notes blend together perfectly. definitely could be very polorizing in today's market, shares similiarities with midnight poison
reminiscence patchouli - THE basement patchouli, not super wearable for me on its not, but layered its lovely

I just bought my first bottle of Eden, and I LOVE it!!! It is divine! Such a different fragrance, that reminded me somewhat of original Giorgio from the 80's, or am I just nuts??? What do you think Gabby? Anyway, I love Eden! On another note, in my opinion one of the things that has happened to the fragrance industry is all of the newer generations of young people purchase fragrance from "Bath and Body Works", or Victoria's Secret", and stores of that caliber. A bit too cookie cutter for me. I want something different, and bold that says HEY, here I am love me or not, I don't care because I smell better than you are capable of understanding!!! Lol!! My fragrances that are not well loved are Magie Noir, Youth Dew, and Aromatics Elixir. Applied lightly, they are amazing. Overdone, and people run for the Excedrin. Giorgio is one of those polarizing scents as well. That one I never got on with. I think that when they took out the allergens, the endangered plants, and the nitro musks, fragrance got light and watery. L’Eau d’Issey ushered in that love of aquatic, watery “clean” scents. From there is got even lighter and next businesses starting banning fragrance wearing. Amazing Grace was the pinnacle of the extended shower gel fragrance phase. The ingredient I do not care for that is in everything these days is synthetic woody amber. It catches in my throat, especially Ambroxan.

I’m millennial and when I first tried Aromatic Elixir, I was shocked. I had Samsara, Opium and a nice light chypre from Patricia de Nikolai Odalisque made in 1988. I always loved 80-90s fragrances. But AE was something so different for me and strong that I didn’t understand it. But later it became one of my biggest love, a which brew, a childhood in countryside, a warm hug of my grandpa, best mood enchanter before sleep.
