Birthdays remain the most awaited and one of the special days which each one of us eagerly looks up to. Planning parties, calling friends and relatives or ordering the birthday person's favourite cake-every detail calls for attention when the birthday month knocks on the door.

Hindu parents take their children to a Temple on their birthday's. early morning children are wished and blessed by Grandparents and Parents, children touch the feets of their elders for blessings. Visiting the temple on birthday and performing Ganesh Puja is considered highly auspicious. Other important pujas performed on birthday include pujas to Shiva, Rudra Abhishek, Navgraha Puja and pujas to ‘Ishta Devta’ or personal deity. Blessings of parents, especially that of Mother is very important on birthday. In Hindu Tradition, lighting a lamp is considered highly auspicious and this is done daily by majority of Hindus at home. So there is a debate whether it is right to blow off the candles on a birthday cake. Due to western influence people used to blow off candles kept on the birthday cake.But now due to pandemic this is a strict no-no as its sure way to infect others.
Hindu culture never had blowing of of fire as it is supposed to be inaupicious. its generally on death and the 13th day that a lamp is blown off.
Hindu families light a Lamp to their Kuladeva or Devi on daily specially on the Birthday the child prays and put Lamp to Kuladevi. Kuladevi is the 1st Mother which is prayed after Ganesha.
Birthday is for expressing gratitude unto God. Birthday havan gets Blessings and good wishes bestow maximum benefit on your and Children's Birthday.
