the lad will have some nice memories to look back on when he is older in his years remembering his dad on these bike routes. maybe when the time comes in years ahead he shall ride the routes of his father with his own kids come one day. great dad, if we all only had fathers like this the world we be a better place. the soundtrack to this video. after hearing it a number times over I'm sure i can remember its lyrics off by heart now. ill be singing them in my sleep for sure lol.
An inspiring young man, obviously had a huge back-up team, an enormous camera crew and a team doctor/physio on hand at every turn. Try as I might, I never spotted the team bus pulling the catering caravan. Well, surely someone must must have been there to provide lemonade and gingernuts round every bend. After all, these superstars dont come cheap!!! Where next? Can't wait😊
That's the best mtb video I've seen on CZcams.
Well done wee fella!
Brilliant adventure. Cracking effort by both of you
Fantastic video. What an amazing young man! Thanks for sharing.
Just wow. Route. Landscapes. Footage. Lifetime of memories in one trip.
Did you say 10 year old? Bloody he'll fire! Could barely get my lad out of bed at that age...and nowts changed. 😂
One of the best films of An Turas Mor I've seen. Well done to both of you.
Pretty impressed by your son, seems competent, content powerhouse. Excellent
Fantastic. Inspiring stuff. Thats going on my to do list. A great film and you have a future XC champ in the making as well!
Fabulous, had a smile on my face the whole film
Epic stuff and very inspiring to see the young lad pushing on like that...👍
What a great video, brought back memories, done most of the lovely route on different occasions bikepacking. Stayed in the ruin on side of Loch Vaich. Plus nice hut nr L. Orrin.
The young chap did very well, plus he has a nice cycling style (Position & Fluid).
Keep on enjoying your cycling trips. All best,

Epic " great music too,, well done that we laddie,
The saddle of the boy it's just a little bit low. :-) GREAT EFFORT!! Well done!
I also noticed the saddle was a bit low. Great video - watched all the way through. Much different scenery than we have in my area (near Toronto)
Somebody, give that boy a pro contract.
Brilliant,wish I waa younger,very inspiring!
Magnificent! Congratulations to your son for an impressive ride. Beautiful scenery and lovely sound track. Kept me enthralled watching while on Zwift. Where did you plot the route and do you have it on Kamoot?
Hi Andrew - we mapped it out onto Garmin from the Great North Trail route (www.cyclinguk.org/route/great-north-trail-full-route-cape-wrath) but later discovered the Scottish section is also called An Turas Mor (www.anturasmor.co.uk)
Wow, great video, your lad is a super star in the making. On day 1, you have posted part one and part two, was this actually ridden over 2 days. or did you make the 60 miles in a day? We're doing the route starting out on Friday.
Hi there. Day one was around 64 miles and the film was part 1 before lunch and part 2 after lunch. Fort Augustus to Little Garve. Have a great trip 👍
Lovely video bringing back such good memories. Can you tell me the music you used for the video?
👍👍 nice
Nice vid guys. Very steady images. I saw a GoPro on your handlebars. How did you manage to avoid camera shake. My helmet cam video was really poor.
Best regards, Big John, (Jeremy and I rode briefly with you approaching Rosehall)
Hi John! I have always had reasonable shots from the handlebars. I used a GoPro 9 this year but in some ways the GoPro 7 I used before was smoother. The stabilisation generally works well but the big bumps seemed to make it jump a bit. It should work well on a helmet too though as I have used it running?
Wow, amazing. Your son is fab, and what great memories. I loved the music - great choice. Who was singing "Land Below the Waves"? It seems a different version to Skippinish.
Hi - Definitely Skippinish from the album Steer by the Stars. Great music!
Great watch on the turbo trainer! Do you have a list of the songs used?
Hi Pieter - all Skippinish. Mainly from the album Steer by the Stars apart from the songs Alive and Walking on the Waves
Seat looked a bit low for the laddie?
Very nice video! Please, what is the first song name/artist? Thank you
Skipinnish - Land Below the Waves (Album - Steer by the Stars) 👍
You must be very proud !!!!! Is there a gpx track I can download ?
Hi Brian - we followed the Great North Trail route on this website (www.cyclinguk.org/route/great-north-trail-full-route-cape-wrath) and I just marked it up on my OS maps and created the route on Garmin.
This looks amazing. Where can I find the route you took please ? Elain
Hi Elain - full details are on the An Turas More website - www.anturasmor.co.uk. It really was a great route and, weather permitting, one we would highly recommend!
Think this is doable on a Specialized hybrid?
Most of the other riders was saw on the trail were on gravel bikes. We were unusual on hardtail MTBs. Having said that, we were grateful for our suspension on some of the trails which would be hard going for a sustained period.
Your lad is amazing. Well done both of you. Could you send me gpx files.
Hi - GPX files are available here - www.anturasmor.co.uk/gpx. The original route was based on the Great North Trail however - www.cyclinguk.org/route/great-north-trail-full-route-cape-wrath
No talking, just music. Nice scenery but boring!
The liitle fella is a star and you're dad of the year. awesome video. Two big thumbs up
