I met Ed about 2021 at a CVS in Los Angeles, i hardly recognized him but I knew it had to be him. I says “you’re the guy in all the movies i grew up watching” he smiled and told me his name and I told him how my buddy and I quote the Pluto line all the time. After we took a selfie together he told me that line was 100% improvised in one take. He was sooo cool

Couldn’t agree more... both are psychotic, highly trained and fearless. Plus the characters they play are fun too!
Seriously, both of them rocked the hell out of this movie. If I wouldn’t have been on Riggs’ side I definitely would have been on Team Paycho with “Mr. Joshua.” Total badass.

Yes, this is the best and most intense one of the franchise, in my opinion. I liked Mel Gibson as Riggs (he and Murtaugh are tested with rather serious adversity in this one) best in this one because he's hardly a goofball or smart ass like the sequels. You know, all business and focused despite being suicidal and, not to mention, absolutely fearless (ie: the guy who threatened suicide by jumping) and a badass with a nothing-to-lose attitude. Not the kind to fuck with! Gary Busey was convincing as Joshua but, to me, at least, it was Mitchell Ryan who left a stronger impression as Gen. McAllister with his low-key, yet no-nonsense and forceful demeanor (ie: the Mendez meeting). He was obviously respected by, including Joshua, and possibly feared (I'm sure with the help of Joshua) by his flunkies. That (respect, not fear; McAllister was evil) is what makes leaders strong and that's what my country needs more of.

@@moncorp1 He was still awesome even after the accident, and gave good performances in Under Siege, Point Break, Surviving The Game, Predator 2, Rookie Of The Year, The Firm and so on. I never felt like his accident changed his acting at all, and he didn't appear to go wacky until his Entourage appearances, which I assumed was more of an act that Gary did to mess with people who called him crazy lol.

It should have done better at the box office but was a best seller on video and popular on TV. The cinematography in Lethal Weapon especially the opening reminded me of Sharky's Machine. @@frgpilot There was a 2 and a half hour version of this movie but MPAA rejected it on the grounds of being too graphic. According to a post on imdb, there was an aftermath of the London bombing which showed the victims' injuries in gruesome detail, Wulfgar killed more people in the disco, they showed Hartman and Shakka's heads being blown apart and of course, the ending was far more brutal and bloodier. The original negatives were destroyed in a studio backlot fire. I read Stallone directed a lot of scenes. My theory is that Wulfgar became who he was because he must have been a Jew whose family were killed by the Nazis in WW2 so he decided to wage a reign of terror against oppressive regimes and dictatorships not caring about innocent people getting in the way.

@@jonathanfebre1417 I couldn't agree more. Just the scene where McAllister meets with Mendez had me convinced that the General himself was nothing to play around with! As much of a badass as Joshua's portrayed as, it was McAllister, NOT Joshua, who physically forced Mendez to hold still AND forced him to hold his own lighter to burn Joshua's forearm; I don't know about you BUT, if I were Mendez, THAT act alone would've made me VERY uneasy around McAllister because I would assume from that point forward, even he would be capable of literally ANYTHING (and I DON'T mean that in a good way!); another threatening example of McAllister was a hint of how he might've treated Murtaugh's daughter had Riggs not barged in (who knows, he might've raped her; she was DEFINITELY terrified of him)! Just their modus operandis makes sense why one's the leader and the other is second-in-command (don't get me wrong, Joshua's just as dangerous in his own way but, I'd somehow strangely feel safer dealing with him)! Overall, I think Mitchell Ryan and Gary Busey both did excellent jobs playing their roles, I'm basically saying that's how I read the characters.
